Hanteo update : CRUSH is around 27.6K, I think it can reach 28K before the end of the month, if we go by the same ratio as the 1st month = 2.47 then it'll be around 69K-70K on Gaon. (+13K in April)  :)

Note : I'm not sure if the same ratio can be applied for every months tho. Anyone has the Hanteo-Gaon montly charts for the 2nd mini album?

I'm not expecting that since the Sewol incident slowed down album sales.

Do you think they can reach 100k by the end of the year?

yeah, hard to guess this time. Although I'd say that 2NE1's physical sales on Hanteo haven't been affected that much, seems like this week they will sell slighlty better than last week.

Do you think they can reach 100k by the end of the year?

Yes I think it's possible, because I believe that having a world tour helps to boost the sales also they need to promote CRUSH for a long period and be like everywhere this year (performing at festivals, university, events, etc...)

Unpopular opinion: I don't want a 2nd album from the girls this year unless it has the same quality as CRUSH otherwise it'll kill their momentum.

Cosmopolitan Korea: “CL vs Rita Ora, the winner of the runway is?†[TRANS]

-Style Gossip- CL vs Rita Ora, the winner of the runway is?

Fashion editor K’s Style Gossip. From the stories about celebs to the hot issues that are rocking the fashion world right now! From behind the scenes at fashion events, secretly; the gossip that Editor K will be revealing to only the CosmoGirls. XOXO CosmoGirl!

cosmopolitan-korea-april-2014-cl-rita-or

Rita Ora (1990.11.26) VS CL (1991.2.26)

The DKNY show that was held at the W Hotel on March 27! This replication of the last 2014 S/S show that was shown in New York was bound to become the talk of the town right? For this show, they closed the hotel’s car park & converted it to a runway. The hot topic among the press that was gathered at the show, and even among the models that have gathered, was CL’s confident walk on the runway! However, the press’ evaluation of her performance was that she did not have the same showmanship that Rita Ora had at the show in New York. That said, CL showed who she is on stage as she performed after the show. She set the stage on fire as she sung ‘Come Back Home’ with the other 2NE1 members.

The walking competition between the 2 girls of the same age who made their entrance wearing the same look, how many points would you give them?

cosmopolitan-korea-april-2014-cl-rita-or

Text on the photo: Rita Ora – “The runway’s fun too??†CL – “Haha;; It’s still awkward. The stage is still more suitable for me after all.â€

Note: <Style Gossip> is where they feature the latest hot issue in the K-fashion industry from an insider's POV

See this is what i mean which nobody in the main thread understands and thinks we're "over reacting"

It's no secret that 95% of CL's haters are Dara stans who live in the phillipines.

For 2NE1's 5th anniversary concert in the Philippines, they're planning to bring DaBomZy banners and excluding CL on purpose from them.

Gross, I don't think Dara, Bom or Minzy will appreciate their efforts. They seem so pressed, is 2NE1 failing or something because last I checked no one in 2NE1 is troubled, they seem to all be basking in their success.

I'm going to wait and see. Only thing that is going to do is make them look bad and possibly hurt CL. Such great BJs they are.

Girl groups ranked by number of fandom members

tumblr_inline_n4n3r7PbOs1rcuxz9.jpg

On the 26th of April, MBN constructed a graph, listing Korean girl groups who debuted from 2006, in order of fan cafe members, in which Girls’ Generation ranked 1st by an outstanding number.

Girls’ Generation was an enormous outlier, in which they had a total of 245,447 fans joined at their official fan cafe, as of the 24th of April.

Korean girl groups are usually said to only last for around 5 years, however having debuted in 2007, Girls’ Generation have maintained their top status for 7 years, breaking this norm and continually growing in popularity all over the world.

Second place was A Pink, with a fan base of 86,596 fans, however the huge gap between first and second place further emphasized the magnitude of Girls’ Generation’s enormous fan base.

Whilst many would automatically assume that there would be more male fans than female fans, according to research, the number of female fans to male fans have been more or less equal, and this could also be seen at their concerts, where the gender distribution in the crowd is relatively equal.

Coming in in last place was Crayon Pop, which is quite an amazing feat considering the fact that they are still very new to the K-Pop industry.

1. SNSD 245,447
2. A Pink 86,596
3. Wonder Girls 80,579
4. 2NE1 74,090
5. f(x) 62,316
6. Girl's Day 48,245
7. KARA 45,602
8. Brown Eyed Girls 37,596
9. 4minute 34,645
10. miss A 33,713
11. SECRET 28,168
12. SISTAR 25,342
13. T-ara 25,158
14. Davichi 23,677
15. After School 19,397
16. AoA 10,928
17. Crayon Pop 10,603

Congratulations to Girls’ Generation for ranking 1st with flying colors on the “Top Girl Group Fandom†list, and all 16 other girl groups for ranking in the top 17!

Who’s fandom are you a part of?

Comments;

1. [+179, -12] I had to think for a long time to figure out who #2 was ã…‹ã…‹ã…‹

2. [+164, -11] Not surprised about SNSD but I'm surprised about T-ara still being in the ranking

3. [+116, -19] It's because of their fandom size that they're called one of the only girl groups who can face up against male groups

4. [+22, -5] A Pink at #2, they've grown a lot

5. [+13, -6] You usually don't realize how big they are until you see it in stats like this

Find out Who is Behind the Image Making of Girls’ Generation, 2NE1, and Other K-Pop Artists

snsd-2ne1-image1.jpg

Although they seem charming on stage, many idols have been assisted in creating their images. According to image consultant Han Gyu Ri, celebrities she had consulted received assistance on how to magnify their presence on stage. From artists such as BIGBANG, Girls’ Generation, 2NE1, Lee Hi, and Kang Seung Yoon, Han Gyu Ri has helped singers to shine on stage while complimenting their members.

Furthermore, image consultants aren’t only responsible for physical looks, but they help singers improve in cultural understanding, etiquette, and inner aspects. For instance, Han Gyu Ri revealed the story of Gong Minzy, who had to be helped in becoming familiar with performing in heels. As the 2NE1 member had practiced performing in tennis shoes from such a young age, Minzy was given ways in which she could get used to wearing heels while she danced.

When audition shows produced singers such as Lee Hi and Kang Seung Yoon, such contestants needed more assistance due to their lack of preparation as compared to experienced trainees. Thus, for Lee Hi and Kang Seung Yoon, their image making consisted of emphasizing the ‘singer’ image rather than that of an extravagant celebrity image. However, for veteran girl group Girls’ Generation, each member received advice to help shine on stage through their own charms, while at the same time being able to compliment the other members.

The efforts put in to create your favorite idols consists of behind the story work by image consultants who have successfully helped with forming distinct idol images.
