Just finished watch Ep.10 (19-20)

Its seems like BH's dad was the one who killed JW's family? whoa what a coincidence warstarplz.png

I'm praying that Bong Hee's dad was the one who saved Ji Wook from the fire and not the one who caused the fire/killed his parents. If that's the case, Bong Hee's dad probably died in that incident trying to save Ji Wook, but I don't know how her other father comes into the picture. I'm dying to know why she said she had two fathers.

I'm getting the Secret Garden feels all over again just thinking about this theory.

If BH's dad trying to save JW's dad, why must he walk slow AF?

i didnt see any expression on his face like being worried, cautious or scared. while confronting jw's dad,

only cold face, its like he trying to kill JW's dad unsure.png

Yes, but also you have to acknowledge that Ji Wook has rusty memory of that fire incident. In one of the previous episodes he even imagined the District Attorney as the man that walked up to him, didn't he? He was also very young and crying at the time so he might have been confused. Plus, it was a severely traumatic event so that's why he might suffer from partial memory loss. It could be the case that he mistook the expressions on Bong Hee's dad's face.

Edit: lol I sound like I'm in denial right now, which I am. I just don't want anything get in the way of their romance. Please let Ji Wook and Bong Hee be together without any obstruction!!!

Either way, I'm extremely hyped for more revelations about their past. I love how we're getting every genre in this drama. It's like drama, comedy, mystery, suspense, etc all thrown together.

Suspicious Partner: Episodes 19-20

SuspiciousPartner19-20-00233.jpg

A new murder case brings up a lot of personal issues and insecurities, causing arguments and hurt feelings that are going to take a while to untangle. Is it ever acceptable to lie for another person’s well-being, and what gives someone the right to make that decision for someone else? It can be possible to lie to someone for the right reasons, but that won’t stop them from feeling betrayed when they discover the truth.

EPISODE 19 RECAP

SuspiciousPartner19-20-00012.jpg SuspiciousPartner19-20-00003.jpg

Ji-wook tells Bong-hee to bring Hyun-soo to dinner, then he tells Chief Bang that they need to take this chance to sound out Hyun-soo. And when Yoo-jung shows up unexpectedly, she’s invited to join them. As soon as they start eating, Ji-wook asks Hyun-soo if he heard that forensic investigator Chan-ho has disappeared and is under suspicion for the chef’s murder. All innocence, Hyun-soo says that he doesn’t know the guy.

Yoo-jung decides to announce that she’s re-opening Hee-joon’s murder case. She says that the killer could be in this very house—little does she know how right she is, yet how very wrong.

SuspiciousPartner19-20-00008.jpg SuspiciousPartner19-20-00009.jpg

Everyone ignores her, and Chief Bang brings up Chan-ho again. Hyun-soo still looks like butter wouldn’t melt in his mouth, but a flashback shows us that when Chan-ho had pulled himself from the river, Hyun-soo was waiting for him. Laughing, Hyun-soo joked that Chan-hoo looked like he was about to die, and Chan-ho froze in terror. Oh no…

Ji-wook tells his guests that he was supposed to meet with Chan-ho before he disappeared, but that Chan-ho canceled the meeting abruptly. He tells Yoo-jung to check all of the CCTV footage between the park where they were supposed to meet, to the spot where his car was found.

Ji-wook and Chief Bang exchange a look that says that this isn’t working, because Hyun-soo isn’t responding as they’d hoped. Ji-wook remembers the one time he saw Hyun-soo shaken up—when he’d talked about witnessing someone he loved being hurt. Ji-wook says casually that they should see if Chan-ho has a record involving violence towards a woman, and he watches Hyun-soo’s reaction.

SuspiciousPartner19-20-00023.jpg

Later Eun-hyuk gives Hyun-soo a ride home, apologizing for talking shop throughout dinner. Hyun-soo tells him that he got a new job as a motorcycle messenger, and Eun-hyuk offers to use his services as often as possible.

Eun-hyuk asks why Hyun-soo hired Bong-hee as his lawyer, and Hyun-soo gives his usual answer, that his case was so similar to hers. Eun-hyuk reveals that a lot of guilty people approach Bong-hee for the same reason, and that he was trying to feel Hyun-soo out to see if he’d done the same.

As she drives home, Yoo-jung thinks about the end of the dinner. She’d hung back to ask if Bong-hee was going home soon, which is when she learned that Bong-hee is living in the same house as Ji-wook. Although Bong-hee had tried to explain that room and board is part of her pay, Ji-wook said yes, they’re living together, like it’s no big thing.

SuspiciousPartner19-20-00039.jpg

Once everyone has left, Bong-hee joins Ji-wook to help clean up. He couldn’t be happier to have her all to himself, and the simple act of washing dishes turns into an excuse for Ji-wook to stare adoringly at Bong-hee. She asks if the house feels empty now that it’s just the two of them, but Ji-wook says that he likes the quiet. Bong-hee sees him giving her the eyes and orders him to knock it off, but he leans closer, all But this is just my face.

Team Dramabeans: What we’re watching??!!

javabeans

  • Suspicious Partner: Adorable! I was so tickled to see Bong-hee making Ji-wook sweat a little, and enjoyed her reaction to his confession, which felt realistic and sweet and understandable. I know she won’t keep him hanging too long, but for the meantime, I’d like her to make him work for it. I’m petty, okay? I’m also glad there’s more to this serial murder case than met the eye initially, though I do wonder if there’ll be enough twists to last the rest of the show. Not that I’m watching this for the murder mystery!

girlfriday

  • Suspicious Partner: The current flirty romantic tension is great, so I certainly hope Bong-hee sticks to her guns about keeping Ji-wook on the hook, because I want to linger in this fluttery stage for as long as humanly possible.

gummimochi

  • Suspicious Partner: I fell behind on this show pretty early on, and then I binge-watched up to last week’s episodes. I think the latest twist about the murderer was a good one, but then I realized we’ve juuuust reached the halfway mark. So we’re just going to wait until our good guys figure out who the bad guy is? *taps foot impatiently*

Laica

  • Suspicious Partner: If there’s anything cuter than Ji-wook in denial about his feelings, it’s Ji-wook after he’s admitted them to Bong-hee and is openly trying to win her heart. The way he looks at her kills me, like she’s the most precious, wonderful, amazing thing he’s ever seen, and he can’t believe she exists. (Seriously, I’m dead and writing this from the afterlife.) I’m in awe of poor Bong-hee’s willpower, but I’m glad she’s making Ji-wook work for her good graces, because he deserves to sweat after the crushing heartbreak he put her through. I’m less happy that he’s still hiding what he knows about Jung Hyun-soo, despite her repeated entreaties for him not to keep secrets from her. He might be lying to protect her feelings, but she wants him to respect her enough to tell her the truth, and I wish he’d understand that that’s more important.

tipsymocha

  • Suspicious Partner: That kiss tho. I squeed so hard my dog started barking. I don’t know what it is about Ji Chang-wook and his onscreen romances that gets me every time (well, almost every time; we’re just going to ignore The K2), but it’s so cracktastic. Eugh, and these two are extra cute, especially now that the power dynamic has swung the other way and Ji-wook is the one openly, respectfully, pining after our Eun puppy, who is hilariously unnerved by the sudden attention. Is it sadistic if I want Bong-hee to resist just for another episode or two?

Suspicious Partner: Episodes 21-22

suspicious2122-00609.jpg

  • Nobody can know the future — or can they? Their latest case will test the firm’s belief in the unknown, and make them think long and hard about their own mortality and the mortality of those they love. But there’s plenty of cuteness to go around as well, as Ji-wook and Bong-hee begin to lose the battle to ignore their feelings for each other.

EPISODE 21 RECAP

SuspiciousPartner21-22-00038.jpg

Eun-hyuk runs into Ji-wook while they’re both out on their morning jog, and he bounces over to join him. Ji-wook speeds up and tells Eun-hyuk to get lost, so Eun-hyuk stops, looking hurt. But then he remembers when they were little and Ji-wook’s father died. Knowing that the anniversary of that day is approaching, Eun-hyuk determinedly rejoins Ji-wook whether he wants him there or not.

Bong-hee circles a day in her calendar marked “Day to see Dad.†She hears the guys coming in from their run and goes out to greet them happily, saying that it’s every woman’s fantasy to have two handsome, sweaty men in the house.

Ji-wook insists that all she needs is one man, and he tries to shove Eun-hyuk out of the house, pfft. Bong-hee invites Eun-hyuk to stay for breakfast, so Ji-wook grabs her and makes her come to the kitchen to watch him cook, glaring daggers at Eun-hyuk the entire time. Bong-hee and Eun-hyuk exchange gleeful grins — HA, they’re doing this on purpose. Later, Ji-wook asks Chief Bang to put a hold on his investigation on Hyun-soo, telling him that Hyun-soo knows. Chief Bang promises to stop, but when he gets back to his desk, he looks at the picture of Chan-ho with two other young men with a thoughtful expression.

suspicious2122-00030.jpg

We see that Hyun-soo has a copy of that same photo, though the man on Chan-ho’s right has been violently scratched out of the picture. He has several more photos, all of young men with their faces obliterated. Hyun-soo takes a pen and starts to scratch out Chan-ho, but he hesitates, looking conflicted.

Bong-hee and her mother visit the vaults where her father’s ashes rest and tell her father that Bong-hee is a lawyer who represents the wrongly accused, just like Dad was. Bong-hee promises to become a good lawyer someday.

suspicious2122-00050.jpg suspicious2122-00062.jpg

They narrowly miss Ji-wook and his family, visiting his parents’ ashes in a different room. Ji-wook’s mom cries that if “that jerk†hadn’t done what he did, they could have seen their son grow up.

As they leave, CEO Byun thinks he sees Bong-hee, but Chief Bang has him so convinced that his eyesight is declining that he questions himself.
