Thoughts:

 

Maniac vs. Junoflo

 

Still can't get over the fact that Maniac was guaranteed the mic. The song was ummm...what...the crazy featuring guy was like the star of the performance instead. Love Babylon as always though

 

Junflo...omg this is my second favorite performance of the night. Hilarious that all the Koreans were screaming over doing his West Cost sign lol. And G.Soul is fucking amazing omg loveeeeeee. I like the groove of the song. Dok2 actually was featured in the studio version.

 

Ja Mezz vs. Wonjae

 

What the...ok honestly it was Dok2 feat. Jay Park and JaMezz that performance was a mess. Not really a fan of Cha Cha Malone at the first place anyway too much autotone for my liking. And didn't dig their rendition hey shorty it's your birthday parts at the end. The studio version was way better than the performance.

 

Now all tea all shade. The beat was made for Wonjae. Black9 had no chance in getting that mic. But the Korean fans love him. This has a chance of doing well on the charts. The weather is also changing. I liked how Bizzy was doing that Wonjae style "do do do" rapping hah.

 

YoungB Hangzoo vs. Mom son 

 

Zico's beat was great it has super great potential. The hook was also addictive. Unfortunately the performance fell short. I didn't think the energy was there. And it's sad YoungB was being all down because he thought he heard haters saying shit about him? (Would appreciate if someone could translate this part.) And there was a part in the lyrics YoungB was saying dick show? LOL Wut... 

 

Ok Mom son team...when I saw the performance. It was definitely THE better team...so at first I was a bit down the spoilers were saying they lost. But of course Nucksal hard carried the team he is AMAZINGGGGGGGGGGGGGGG...like sick sick the live performance. Again with DD's team I liked the performance better than the studio version hahaha.

 

Woochan boy you had come very far...

 

And next week Kim Bum Soo is with Nucksal? OMGGGG...also he is agaisnt Junoflo???? Wuttt...

 

And Hangzoo is being all vampire n'stuff whoaaa...hahaha so excited

dickkids is the rap team he's part of, and I heard him saying something also even after the performance :/ 

 

 

LOL I know he's part of Dickids but someone should have told him that "dick show" sounds weird in English.

It was probably about the hate he is getting from the Knetz...I took a look at his song profile on Melon last night the Jazz Vibes song Knetz lower the stores to be like 1.9/5 what the....

When they played the beat for Woodie/JaMezz I thought Woodie would be chosen for sure... but guess not. Dok2/Jay said they chose JaMezz because he has more potential going forward, which I think is wrong.... like why would you choose him if he can't save the song? I felt Woodie could've carried the song better since he has that funk in him and he got a higher tone.

 

 

They also gave Woodie like the amateur edit where it seem like he didn't know anything. Dok2 overshadowed everyone and Ja Mezz is definitely not a performer too bad.

 

Also can we talk about how Jay&Dok2 just chillin with their team and ordered a big ass pizza while watching the other teams' performances? LOL

I had to rewatch all of the performances because the stream was so damn bad

 

Woochan vs. Wonjae

 

- Woochan had no chance of winning. At least they had a cute hook. The performance was ughhhhh until Sik-K came out. By the way his styling changed soooooooo much from that dude with the gold teeth grill in SMTM4 he is slick now hahahahha

- Note on how cute Woochan brought gifts of DD and wrote a letter and read it out T____T good kid

 

 

Idk if I like Wonjae's song or not but the performance was more interesting than Woochan's tbh. That being said I don't know if Wonjae's performance was nessacarily better. Like it was a bit all over the place but on the other hand Woochan's performance wasn't that unique, a little too basic in my opinion.

 

- I am glad I'm not alone on this. Wonjae's performance is VERY impactful...the interesting beats and all..I loved the beat in the beginning..Suran's voice is heavenly...YDG is hilarious

- The problem I have is cohesiveness of the song as a whole...it looks good as a performance but I don't think I would listen to it again..the contrast between Wonjae, Suran, and YDG was too much

 

Hanhae (ONE SUN) vs. Hangzoo (RED SUN)

 

- Did y'all notice how many girls went crazy shouting Hanhae's name? LOLLLLL I still remember that qoo or instiz saying he's the perfect boyfriend or something (even the fanboys are screaming lololll)

- Sadly the beat was quite boring....Hanhae rapped to most of the song I thought was not a good strategy the song was quite long. Shin Youngjae came in too late.

- Hangzoo rapped really well but having Swings featuring made the performance much much better he hyped the crowd so well. Hangzoo changed so much. I still remembered him auditioning during SMTM4 and how he looked so heartbroken when he didn't pass the first round. His confidence level has improved a lot.

- What's up with this hypnosis thing? I missed the whole part...but why Mnet.......huh....

 

Junoflo vs. Nucksal

 

- Not sure what to feel about West Side West Side didn't really feel the song....but CHANGMO basically stole the whole spotlight his rap is SICKKKKKKKKK

- OMG KIM BUMSOO....so good and I liked how they kept him at the side. I liked how they are trying to show versatility because Nucksal usually do like strong hard beats? 

- My god....Nucksal is so good performing live...

 

- It's interesting how DD team used live bands for 2 of the songs

- Also props to the spoiler guy....

- Jay&Dok2 team byebye...sadly Jay never went to the Top 3 round....(but SMTM4 was a mess the choices made were...interesting...)

So Wonjae asked for YDG himself .............Okay, I need the lyrics to understand WHY ............ Cohesiveness wise, it doesn't sound  messy in the official audio, Wonjae has his reasons and it's interesting.

I thought Tiger JK and Bizzy was the ones who produced this song and I was like they are not helping him that much with an experimental song, but they didn't  produce the song, looks like they are giving him his needed freedom, and I really appreciate that,  I was harsh on them yesterday, but today, I feel grateful to them  

 

 

Oh..I thought it was pretty obvious that the guy who helped Osshun Gum produced the HSR finale song was the one actually producing the song itself hence the very interesting beats. TigerJK&Bizzy gave him full control that is why they are calling him an artist. I think Juno got the beats on his own too?

 

Anyway I agree with you...the studio version sounded way better than the performance version but still. I could only listen to it only once. There was a certain part in the song like almost towards the middle where the beat went very heavy I had my headphones on and I was feeling dizzy. But Suran's voice though...so good.

 

Apparently the only two songs I could play more than once (studio version) was surprisingly Twisted I loved the beat but disliked the hook, and Nucksal's song.

 

Turns out that Red Sun did the best in the charts...I got a surprise when Swings shouted in the middle of the song hahahhaha.
