So I wanted to talk about gender roles, the expectations of men to be masculine/powerful/in control, cultural attitudes toward women, and how violence is so accepted in certain families. However, asides from raising awareness and educating people, I am having a hard time thinking of what else we can do to change a society's attitude or cultural norms to prevent family violence. I am having a block in my brain so any suggestions or input will help :)

If you can find a solution than notify the 7.5 billion people on Earth. Domestic violence is a pervasive and prevalent social problem. So far world leaders, psychological/sociological/anthropological/etc experts have not been able to come to a solution to eradicate the problem. So far all the solutions are largely "bandaids" that superficial cover the problem but do not treat the festering wound.

But a way to level the power imbalance between the two sexes (if we speak solely on archaic understanding of relationship (i.e. man/woman)) is equal pay/representation in the workplace. Dependency allow for an imbalance of power in a relationship. Providing the partners with lesser financial security/ support to obtain greater skills/resource to become independent allows for greater agency, empowerment, and social worth.

Now do the rest of your homework yourself. 😉

Put a bullet into machist attitude, question machist culture, defy it with arguments, build your own agenda, try to get invested in local laws if you care that much ( is not that crazy and totally possible ), eventually it gets changed by the law, and remember that there's nothing more machist than a mother, beach I hope ur tough and good luck
