Are any of you dieting?

I'm currently trying to go from skinnyfat (aka I weight very little but I'm not v fit) to skinny for the summer, but my huuuge problem is SUGAR. I honestly believe I'm a little addicted.

I don't mind eating healthy, actually I love eating healthy food, and from breakfast to dinner I'm okay. But then once I start studying in the evening, I need something sweet to make that craving go away. I really go crazy if I don't have anything to eat then, and just drinking things like tea or even diet soda doesn't make it go away. Does anybody have any tips for me? It's the combined problem of 1) wanting sugar and 2) wanting to keep munching on something while studying. If I can change this I'll be in shape no time, I know, but this is really hard for me to step over.. most fruits in my supermarket are expensive af and I'm a poor student lol. Today I saw like 250g of grapes for 3 euros, who da hell has money for that if I want to buy fruit for the entire week? I only have like 15~20 euros to feed myself, total.

Thanks in advance

I'm eating a bag of hotchips with a bottle of chocolate milk as we speak imstupid.png

do they have dried fruit or low sugar, cheap twizzlers? Maybe a bag of sugar free lollipops since hard candy tends to last a while and is fairly cheap in my experience. What about canned sweet corn or sweet peas. Tastes sooooo goood.

I'm on a constant diet because I want to maintain my weight of 100 pounds (45 kg). I just am always worried about gaining. Once I gain a pound I usually fast like crazy.

Fruit is good for losing weight. And let me tell you drinking a lot of coffee and water helps too because it flushes out the system and helps you lose weight.

I have the sugar problem as well. I've noticed everything is fine in moderation. and by moderation I mean extremely small amounts

Yeah I can relate to you. Once I get off the sugar (I've been before), I'm fine. But because I had a period of eating a lot of sugar, I now have to get used to not eating so much sugar and that's the hard part. I'm also a stress-eater, so my exams coming up aren't helping.

I have a raging sugar addiction that drives me crazy. I thought I had it beat last summer cause I eliminated refined sugar items (cookies, cakes, candies) and replaced them with juicy fruits (cherries, watermelon, pineapple, etc) but then Autumn came and brought Pumpkin spiced everything (Pumpkin spice is a huge thing in the U.S.). I tried to fight the lattes and the cookies but they wore me down. Then the Holiday-trinity knocked me out so now I'm basically staring over with replacing refined sugar items with oranges, grapes, apples, and pineapple. Fruit is the only solution I can think of but you have to stay strong and keep your resolve because once you give in.....😫

Also, I replaced soda with plain sparkling water that I add lemon juice to. (This also makes you feel full.) I cannot run out if sparkling water, it's my sanity.

I straight up had a sugar addiction - I could eat very little as long as I could eat something sweet at the end of my meal.

If you admit it, then you have two options:

1) Quit sugar completely

2) Keep your sugar intake the same and simply exercise more

The first time I lost like 10kg, I gained it back because I chose option 2 but reverted back to eating sugar to cope with stress - the way it worked for me was that sugar called more sugar so it was a rolling ball of stress and sugar addiction but I was an extreme case.

This time, I am dieting and have reduced my sugar intake by like 90%. I haven't lost a lot of weight technically but I've lost like 2-3 inches from my waist

Everyone explains sugar addiction differently but I think it's kind of a rollercoaster ride in sugar levels in your blood that make you crave sugar to that degree. People crave chocolate because they have low magnesium so I see cravings in that sense these days.

One really quirky tip I've heard is that if you get those really strong cravings for sugar, eat some pickles - it's cause they're sour so they will cut off your craving. I haven't been craving sugar so I haven't tested it myself

I've ranted, I'm sorry but these are the strange things I've learned from my own research

yes. i guess its easier on me because i cant have caffeine or excess of sugar or i could develop heart disease. if my cardiologist didnt tell me this, i'd prob still have temptation problem. i diet anyway for what i do for a job (to be fit and all) but im amazed at myself i've gone nearly a year now w/o drink w/ caffeine lol.. because caffeine/sugar is pretty addicting taste. i think its natural you just have to substitute healthy alternative in where you liked the sweets
