Sooyoung wants to make a solo debut, but SM ignored her

No shade to Sooyoung but she has neither the public recognition nor the vocal talent that Taeyeon has to sell albums/do well digitally

She has her place in the group with all those modelling gigs and could work as a composer but you can't bash or shade SM to do the financially correct thing

Would still love to see what concept/ songs she would bring tho

Edit: Not saying she's irrelevant but the GP know her as SNSD Sooyoung not Sooyoung the soloist.

That's how the less popular members are treated by SM. But Sooyoung has a nice vocal color, I don't understand what's stopping them from giving her an SM Station release like they did with Hyoyeon. Sunny and Yuri deserve one too.

But since the 10th anniversary comeback is coming, I don't think we'll be seeing any more solo debuts from Soshi, not to mention their contracts are up for renewal.

People keep forgetting that SM is a business and not charity. Why would they invest money in a solo that won't pay back whatsoever? I love Sooyoung, but let's be real here. Her solo would only be successful if a miracle happens.

People also keep forgetting how they whined for Luna and Seohyun solo and what turned out at the end.

Soo Young is always joking. IDK but her demand this time equal to me hearing Taeyeon wanted to be in one drama as lead. I cant take it seriously. SM is not hating her obviously LOL. Hyoyeon is not an actress, so her station release was still justified.

With the SNSD brand, someone could probably do a death metal album and it would sell 50k physicals (at least). True, they wouldn't necessarily have a powerful digital hit, but you have a relatively safe floor for physical sales, YT views, etc. If anything, you do it from a managerial standpoint to keep your talent engaged for the big projects.

And that is why SM is one of the top companies, it's a wise decision. She is getting recognized as an actress, why soil her image with a solo album most of the public will criticize.
