Red 3,379
So apparently the change has been implemented?? Realtime charts still can be seen,I was away for a little time and I thot changes hadn`t happened yet,but then I heard just now it did happen. So can anyone kindly explain what those reforms include? I thot they didn`t want to see this typa behavior ever again No??
KUMA-MON 12,792
I only thing that change is that now I have to wake up at 3-4 am to catch some mv debut fuck that
sunnyfool 1,453
only real change was that most songs get released at noon now and its harder for them to chart at #1 songs can still line up in the night lol which was what the change was supposed to prevent? so idk tbh
Ddeona Oneul Bame 61,624
If they dropped a mixtape at the usual midnight KST, you wouldn't see it on the charts until noon KST~ So people are releasing at noon and they'll still see the chart debut an hour later~ But zombie streaming doesn't seem to have been affected~
ethereal 20,923
all it changed was that songs released at midnight kst will not show up on the realtime chart until like 6am kst so now everyone is releasing their shit at noon kst to avoid that. sunnyfool 1,453
OK but is there a rule preventing artists to release their songs in midnight how they used too? not really but its pointless to release at midnight because if u do it doesnt get reflected on the charts until noon anyways
car door guy 11,500
Well, the change was not to get rid of Real Time. That change was suggested by people in the comments. I think the change was to only make it matter from a certain time (?), and that time is where the general population is up. Usually, fandoms will stream when the songs are released (usually midnight). Therefore, by morning until like 7AM-8AM the top ranks are dominated by their idol. It won't change much for the big fandoms because their b-sides are still in the top 10 in the morning and they can keep a spot or two during the day. Small fandoms can stream all night, but the second people wake up their songs will be pushed down into the abyss.

So any song released outside of 12pm-6pm won`t be reflected on the charts upon debut and they will only instantly show up if they are released in this time frame rite? so earliest the new song can enter realtime charts is 1 pm kst.I understand now. Maeo 13,012
the worst part of it is that european fans are pretty fucked since probably many groups will change the release time to 12 p.m kst which is like 3-4am for most of us other then that nothing really changes except you won't see how songs released outside 12-6pm debut on the chart

Just tragic

Just tragic I won`t expect for EXO to debut number 1 now, they might but. Yes,it won`t affect groups with big fandoms in any way rather than debut positions at the furtherest. But they won`t be able to line up all their songs upon debut, which will kill some buzz about how this and that group debuted on roof and had all kill upon release,it won`t be that easy now for them.but in the long run, big groups won`t be affected. And yeah they won't line up at debut but it's not like they line during the day anyway. And honestly I don't really think anyone outside fans cares about those songs lining up, I mean you say it'll "kill the buzz" a little but I don't think much of the public outside fandom consider it a "buzz". And they'll line up during the next night anyway.

But When EXO lined up their songs with Monster and Lotto,(I haven`t experienced their other comebacks) I have seen quite a lot of articles about how upon debut they instantly killed the charts etc. those articles were creating the image, for me as a new comer especially, that they were really really killing the charts.Monster stayed 4 or 5 consecutive days on number1 on melon,so that means a lot,but it was not EX`actly " killing the charts" and I think this change is aiming to get rid of these exaggerated "false" images. They are challenging artist to do it Monster released during empty house. It's funny how a song with just 170k dl & 3m stream first week can top melon for six day ( real time chart , not daily , because exo monster had never got 1st daily ) Fyi , taeyeon "fine" had like +250k and 5m streaming but she can't stay 1st on melon for more than 4 days. Exo monster were just lucky

Seopatra 1,767
The change was also implemented because workers were forced to stay until such late hours into the night to update the music and everything properly and thus, they can do that at a more normal hour. To be honest I think that the only change since songs still line-up at night, people will continue streaming their faves and also a lot of people will search for the music they want.
