OP of this thread is so annoying.

 

I swear, so many i-fans watching this show are completely clueless, it actually pains me. This is the second thread on that subreddit I've seen in the past few weeks asking who is Youngmin & why he is so popular. Are we watching the same show, have they been paying any attention at all? I swear, it's like the only trainees those types of viewers know are the ones who were heavily focused on in the first two episodes + Sorry Sorry 2 members. They can barely name any other trainees unless he starts to get near the top 11, and then they flip out and think he must have undeservedly came out of nowhere, because ofc it couldn't have been that they were just too oblivious themselves. And yeah, those talented trainees that you are mad didn't make the cut? Don't act like you actually knew who they were before Mnet belatedly gave them good screentime in the episode that airs 12 hours before voting closes. Jesus. There have been two threads there asking who the heck Park Woojin is too, excuse me while I roll my eyes to kingdom come.

 

Also, the #stantalent kinds of kpop fans are the freaking worst. No, Youngmin is not The Most Talented of them all, but he is still good?! Those kinds of fans completely misunderstand what being a kpop idol is all about, just be quiet and sit down tyvm.

 

Sorry this is bitchy and I got triggered haha, but really, it's so annoying to see that stereotypical i-fan mentality + everyone wanting to throw their two cents in about Youngmin's situation. Very few users there are even following it closely enough to be able to accurately comment on how differently antis, fans, and casual viewers are responding to it. I hope Youngmin still ranks relatively high next week, that would really show them. It's ignorant and rude af for them to put down his fans like that when the most hateful, vocal people so far have been antis and many of his fans have actually been showing great maturity throughout this ordeal.

 

Edit: Comments like this too. Pretty sure a lot of these people stan Jonghyun...where is the self-awareness? I hate how aside from Nu'est and Justice League members, pretty much every other trainees' popularity is always getting questioned by that sub, just because they got good edits a little later in the show instead of at the very beginning

I don't know if we should report them under spam or targeted harrassment, but i reported them under targeted harrassment and included all the tweets where they mentioned Youngmin fans. I'm kinda worried about 2-pick though. Youngmin does not have any particular pairing, BNM train will not help either (Daehwi has pairings like Daehwi-Jinyoung, Woojin has Woojin-Hyungseob pairing), but I can't think of any pairing for Youngmin. It's like his 1 pick fans will have to compete with twice the votes. 

 

By the way, do you guys think he will stay in Never? Never is full of high ranked trainees, they have to kick 5(?) people out? It would suck if he has to re learn another song after practising for Never, but it seems like a lot of spoiler has him in Open it..

I understand the feels. I get really frustrated when I see people jumping into conclusion like that but instead of focusing on the negative we should just do our best to support youngmin and the Korean supporters who are backing him up.

The definite thing from what I saw in the spoiler is that he moved, though I actually think he suits open it although I always imagine he was rapping at the Never song

Ah that's true. You guys are right, it's really pointless for me to get worked up about it, will focus on more positive and productive things instead! Would you guys mind if I submit to @pd101s2confess asking people to help report the hate accounts? That's the only way I can think of to reach a larger audience and get them shut down.

I think Youngmin can still make the cut for top 22, probably not top 11 though realistically. I don't mean to be rude but I don't think a lot of the lower ranked trainees are going to be popular voting choices. Most of them are not paired up with another trainee. Youngmin still got Sewoon and Donghyun, if YoungDongPo is still a thing. I think Sewoon has a decent fanbase dedicated to him. I'm not sure what they think about Youngmin, but it could help boost him.

He is 23 by Korean age, if he doesn't make it he will have to wait till he is 25 (assuming Daehwi debuts).

 

Realistically what company will debut a male idol in the age of 25? He will have to go to military just a few years after debut. The other bnm trainees can wait because they are younger, but this is the last chance for Youngmin. I read somewhere that this was the year where he wanted to go to military if he didn't get to P101. If he doesn't make it to Male IOI, we probably have to say good bye to the chance of ever seeing him in Kpop again. And I just can't do that tbh I'm already too attached to him :(

Hello Everyone, I just want to ask what is the current situation with youngmin's scandal? Is it getting worse? I heard there are three scandals now? GF, Song concept evaluation, and nuest comment? I've been away from lurking on OH for about 2-3 days, so I'm a bit out of the loop. I think I underestimated Youngmin's popularity last time and was surprised to see him in top 5. I was expecting him to be like 9,10, or 11. Someone on the main thread pointed out that Youngmin doesn't really have a big international fan following and with the recent scandal, his video and likes on FB for maboy was 2nd only after Jonghyun. (?) Someone also pointed out it doesn't matter how much hate he gets on the internet, it just matters of how many fans that are loyal. (Like how Sohye got lots of hate comments more than positive but still made it the final group.)  What do you guys think?

Cube debuted Jinho from Pentagon last year who is supposedly a 92 liner, which makes him 26 in Korean age this year I believe. I think there is still a chance. But I understand where you are coming from though. I'm quite worried too and I didn't think I was gonna get attached. It's not over until its over and this season is really unpredictable, so there is still hope.
