Hello, i would say i decided to stop being a lurker too but i just stumbled upon this thread and I haven't even had a chance to read old posts. So I decided i might as well join here while waiting for the show to start.

Also a huge fan of the red hair so i'm definitely on the side to keep it red <3 Not only does it make it easier to find him but it just also brings out his features so much more.

This is a summary of all the things I’ve seen so far regarding Youngmin’s performance last night. Please take these with a grain of salt; we do not know for sure what happened until the actual broadcast airs on Friday.

It is confirmed that Youngmin was on the same team as Kim Donghyun and Kim Dongbin. They performed Zico and Babylon’s “Boys & Girls.â€

Dongbin is rumored to be the center.

Dongbin supposedly messed up his lyrics and it caught Youngmin off-guard so his expression was not good and he might’ve stumbled on one of the words in his rap.

Some fans say that their stage was “a mess†but others say they did well.

Fans are predicting that when Youngmin was shown being scolded in the ep 6 preview, it was because of his other team member’s mistakes.

Youngmin might’ve done a satoori rap. His voice is very sexy and was very heart-fluttering.

Donghyun originally wanted to do vocal (acoustic) but instead had to choose rap and did well! He didn’t mess up his rap at all. He also sang Babylon’s vocal parts.

People are acknowledging that Youngmin is a good leader and has suffered a lot. Some are even calling Youngmin the team’s hard carry.

During their ment, Dongbin cried and asked everyone to vote for Youngmin and Donghyun bc of his mistake. Youngmin also cried.

During the interview, Donghyun sang Hongdae Geondae again.

I’m not sure what outfits they wore but this tweet explains it, if anyone can translate it please let me know!

Youngmin was very handsome in real life and possibly wore black and white clothes.

He was also trending #6 on naver right after the recording!

I really want all the BNM boys to head to Top 22 if possible and get the full experience tbh  I want to see all four of them until the final episode (it would be too greedy for me to hope atleast 2-3 of them to enter Top11, so I'm trying to manage my expectations because not all the voters recognise talent  )

 

 

 

 

Reading all this has me even more nervous about next week. I also keep seeing tweets like "why is youngmin always the one suffering" etc and that just makes me even more sad  . I was really hoping this week's preview was just bad editing like usual but after reading the fan accs the thought of his team being scolded does seem higher :/ 

 

On the brighter side of things i am happy to see people acknowledge him as a leader material. It's not easy for someone who rarely has any screen time to be able to have that image and to continue to add onto it.  Also also also people appreciating his visuals and rap style definitely helped too. I now also have high expectations for that satoori rap 

 

 

 

 

off topic and I know i shouldn't jump ahead but i really want youngmin to do the 4th song 'Never' for concept evaluation. If not 'Never' then 'Oh Little Girl' as my second choice and then "I Know You Know' as my third choice. In my opinion, i think Never suits him best.

btw I saw somewhere ep 7 is jsut a few days before voting close ends  and those in rap and dance evaluation would have less time to get votes since their performances airs in ep 7? is this real?

 

 

 

 

I believe so since that's what happened during the Be Mine episode too. I think mnet will try to at least make it fair by uploading the solo cams before the episode airs just like they did last time. Before i wasn't sure why they uploaded early but now it makes sense.

Going to try and stop lurking in this thread for now 

I found out about Youngmin after getting him on the Maboy quiz. His Be Mine performance kind of solidified him as stan material for me though oTL 

I adore his little alpaca smile  He's getting good press on Pann though, hope he makes it far in the show! 

 

 

Also a little random thought: but I heard he was born on December 25th? I wonder if he only gets one gift for both Christmas and his

birthday hah  (because I get only one as well). 

 

Are the BNM trainees debut confirmed? I'd really anticipate that but if either one of them enters the top 11, will BNM postpone the debut until after IOI activities are over? Youngmin is the oldest BNM trainee for now, right? I'm just a slight bit worried.

Seeing as how they're all popular enough rn the chances of them debuting is higher. If one of them does enter the top 11 then postponing the debut is the best way to go. Last season the girls got so much hate over debuting while the show was going on and also while debuting when the one year period for the group wasn't over. While I don't like the idea of having to wait so long for ym's debut it's still better than him and the group getting unnecessary hate.

I still can't believe Youngmin is 12th. I know ranking can be unpredictable but I just never expected this. I'm also still trying to wrap my head around the performance (especially the very very hot part in his rap where he says he's drunk(?) with an accent). Also that one part during the dance part where he looks even more attractive than usual ( i'll post a gif of it when i find it). 

 

My love for youngmin's visual and dance aside, I am loving mnet actually giving him decent screen time with no ill intentions attached. Lately they seem to favor him a little but that's just my thinking. I'm gonna go watch his performance over and over again now.

Youngmin is rising like how he deserves!  I wish the same goes for Donghyun tbh, I was expecting a good stage with both of them but someone not to be named had to jeopardise it 

Poor Youngmin he seem so stressed, being under a good label comes with lots of stress to live up to its name  I think he's definitely Jonghyun aka Nation's Leader in the making, just give him a few more years of experience because he has kindness and compassion innate in him.

 

Youngmin really would be a motherly leader/co-leader. I know most people prefer the strong types but it's always good to have someone who cares for you so warmly. If ym does end up debuting with the top11 then i think he would be a perfect second leader to jonghyun (since jh's chances of debuting are much higher). They just match imo.

my heart aches every time i think of donghyun. i call myself a bnm stan but im really happy ym and woojin rised so much that im kinda makin myself ignore the fact donghyun and daehwi dropped rankings. :( mostly donghyun case, boy can sing, dance, play instruments, and decent at rap tbh. hes also so nice *sigh* 

 

i didnt want to say it but his part was hella bad but thinking hes a 7 months trainee im like eh. but still guanlin although not the greatest is getting so much better. tbh the overall perf was still a lil lacking compare to the others (sorry paca and donghyunie) 

 

right the pressure. i mean brand new is not only a good label , its one of the best label for hip hop so yeah poor bb. and he got more stressed cause the expectation is more from him instead of donghyunnie ( imean isnt he a vocal) . People are actually saying their the same kind so that makes me so happy, since i also like jonghyuns personality  and i kinda see it.

Donghyun.......his situation is just really sad. He has everything that can attract people but the lack of screen time during the early eps hurt him. I'm afraid the most for him during the next elimination :/

Same, it's a hard stance to be in because they won't all rise like how we wish for it to be. Donghyun though, I hope he gets acknowledged for his performance because I thought he did the best. He clearly showcased to be a triple threat - sings, raps and dances well. The last two he's decently enough in it which definitely makes him even more idol material. You're right, the stage leaves a lot to be desired, maybe lack of charisma (I think Daehwi and Woojin has the most stage charisma among the four) or practice or the song choice didn't really match them.

 

Yeah about Dongbin.. Not sure what was it in his mind to choose rap... It's impossible to pick it up within a short period of 1 week, I just can't...  He ruined the stage for me to the point I won't go and review their performance lol 

 

Yup he carries too much burden as the leader. I just want BNM to debut my four boys and Alpaca will have an easier life as the leader because the three are just too good 

 

I think one of the translations floating around said that dongbin wanted people to praise him and say how well he did for his first time? That was his main goal when he jumped into rap. I don't like that mindset at all. You're jeopardizing a team just because of certain fantasies you have in mind with no skills to back it up.

 

 

I hope in the next performance, Youngmin will get stuck with better team members. I know that helping the other trainees is what got him exposure but I feel like it also held him back from improving. From the center pick solo stage, you could tell that he doesn't perform as well under pressure. I'm guessing it's because he didn't have as much time to prepare so he didn't feel as confident. In Boys and Girls, the pressure got to him again. I want him to perform confidently next time. The other BNM boys are better in this aspect. They always exude confidence. More so, Daehwi and Woojin. I love Donghyun but I always thought he had the least stage presence amongst the 4 of them but I thought he did well in Boys and Girls. He was a lot more natural than Youngmin and seemed more like the center. 

 

For someone who doesn't perform well under pressure he sure is buried in it every week 

It makes me sad hearing him say how burdened he felt and how he didn't think he was able to become their strength. I too hope that next time we get a performance that he can confidently shine in.

hehehe thank yous ~ and yes truly but boy shouldve picked vocal since its his strongest point. I mean he did really well for rap and it was great he wanted to challenge himself. but idk it was a risky move since his position was in the late 30s and its the 2nd elimination..

YESSS MY WISH , i mean some would say it would overshadow him and all but i dont really think so.  it would definitely make him improve and make him competitive (im not saying he's not jsut that it'll make him even work harder and i dont think paca will disappoint). Yes, like in be mine, he was busy relearning and making the choreo. then deciding the position , dance break , then teaching it to his teammates. then he also had to check everything was in place regarding his team mates and the overall performance. this poor bb barely has time to prepare and all. 

 

Ohhhh what  i really love about bnm boys. Among 4 of them I think its Woojin, like on stage, but overall daehwi <3 lol i agree , donghyun has the least stage presence.

I was really surprised to know that that's what his company put him as. I thought he would be a vocal or a dancer but it's was really shocking that he got in as a rapper. I do appreciate him being so open about his struggles and how it affected the team during the ment parts. I did blame him at first but after seeing that I just didn't bother with it.

Hi! I started noticing Youngmin after Be Mine performance and his personality really got me! I honestly didn't want to be too invested in Broduce101 but I ended up watching a bunch of Youngmin vids and here I am loll. I'm so glad that he is rising in votes rn. I have a feeling he will get into TOP 11 next week. I reaaaaaallyyyy hope he will get into the final lineup. Cause I honestly don't see myself checking out/stanning the next bnm boygroup lol

That's what I said in the BNM boys thread when we were guessing what the four of them would pick for position evaluations and discussing Youngmin's rapping (link for those who still don't know about it yet, join us if you like the rest of them too~). It kinda hurt to see some people saying that he also screwed up Boys and Girls, but it's good to have it confirmed that he hasn't been training in rap for very long. Imo he handled the situation very professionally and even seasoned performers mess up sometimes (like Jonghyun) so I think he did great, all things considered.

 

Personally based on all the other research I've done so far (really need to make a post in their group thread but lazy + short on time), I think Brand New Music might not actually be that ready to debut their new boy group. They're still holding auditions and they don't seem to have a main rapper yet (Woojin is the best of the four but will probably be pushed as main dancer, plus I feel like they would have sent him on PD101 if they had him...maybe his dancing still needs work and/or he is less of stan attractor than the others?)

 

So even though I am a billion times more interested in the BNM new bg than the PD101 new bg, I guess I've kinda accepted now (with vote reset, the screentime he got in episode 6, and growing number of onepick supporters) that Youngmin will very likely be in the final 11. In my mind I was still hoping that they would make top 22 but rank below 11 and debut together right away. Sorry if this sounds crazy to the people here who are only individual fans of Youngmin haha.

 

But yeah, that he chose rap over dance despite being way more experienced in the latter is really commendable. I love Im Youngmin so much 

 

My love and appreciation for youngmin just increased even more knowing this. I personally couldn't guess that he didn't train for long going by how professional he was on stage. I now truly understand why he kept mentioning the pressure from being from bnm. He's expected to do well right from the start even though he himself hasn't been doing this for very long. Breaks my heart to think about what must have been going through his head when he messed up a little

Youngmin never officially joined JYPE, he only went to audition and got first place. He then later joined RBW and another company.

Only Daehwi, Woojin, Donghyun (+Woo Jinyoung) did actually join JYP but switched out to BNM later hence it explains why Somi only mentioned those names.

It seems like there is a rumor going around that Youngmin has a girlfriend? Ofc I don't care if he has one, but the timing seems to indicate that it's just a rumor spread by fans of other boys to bring him down? Posts about youngmin usually only have upvotes/ good comments from his fans but now ppl start to find him as a threat to their biases. I start to see people randomly saying he has a gf and ppl shouldn't pick him, that he isn't all that nice, bad comments about his skin etc..

 

My Korean sucks tho, so it would be great if someone can help to confirm this (the rumors, how it started, etc,etc)

I saw the girlfriend thing on a pann post. It was basically a post asking people who their one pick are, and under the comments about Youngmin, I see some people telling others not to vote for a guy with a gf. The skin thing was mentioned by haters too in pann, and I saw a negative post about him (the op got a backlash for it though). The hate is probably really minor compared to other popular trainees, but I guess I'm just too used to Youngmin receiving only positive attention.

 

I'm glad I haven't seen anything bad on twitter though. But it's probably because he is so underrated internationally. Unrelated, but I'm really glad international fans can't vote or else he basically have 0 probability of making it to Top11.

 

 

 

 

This is why I feel kinda conflicted now. At first I wanted him to rank real high in top 11 for the next evaluation, but now I just want him to make it in (maybe at 9/10/11) so that other fans don't hate him too much.

 

Btw what rank do you guys think Youngmin will get in the next evaluation? So far all the leaked lists have him in top11. Although the lists may just be random guesses, it shows that most people expect him to get in top 11 this week.

 

 

 

I agree 10000% about international fans not being able to vote. If ifans has voted i doubt he would've made it to the 30s that he was in before especially since he didn't get much screentime until the later episodes. 

 

 

 

 

hmmmm my guess would be from 10-15. While he was shown as 12th last time things could have changed a lot so i'm trying to not have high expectations. I honestly was expecting him to reach 20th from 27 so where he is now is still a surprise to me

i'm going find a bright side in this and see it as a way to filter out fans who never planned to stay for the long term anyway. If they turn their backs on him for a thing like this then i don't think they were truly fans. I personally became his fan because of his personality and hardwork not because of his relationship status so people leaving because of this never made sense to me. Anyway, i'm just gonna hope for the best. Whether he ends up in the top 11 or debuts later with bnm boys i'll still be a fan.

Ah this makes me sad and mad at the same time. No one can deny that Youngmin is a good person. A really good person. He hasn't once given a chance for anyone to think otherwise and yet jealousy has blinded people from seeing it. To know that he will always carry the scars of this whole incident hurts. I'm kinda worried about 2-pick though. Youngmin does not have any particular pairing, BNM train will not help either (Daehwi has pairings like Daehwi-Jinyoung, Woojin has Woojin-Hyungseob pairing), but I can't think of any pairing for Youngmin. It's like his 1 pick fans will have to compete with twice the votes. 

 

By the way, do you guys think he will stay in Never? Never is full of high ranked trainees, they have to kick 5(?) people out? It would suck if he has to re learn another song after practising for Never, but it seems like a lot of spoiler has him in Open it..

He also used Banmal when he picked Minhyun as visual center, and we can see they are somewhat close from Never team practice.

 

Also, I didn't expect this but he seemed quite close with Hong Eunki from yesterday's episode. Eunki kept supportively holding his arms whenever they think Youngmin might be called. I wonder how they became close.

 

Brand New boys were really showing the love this episode and I loved every second of it 

I think he is close with jonghyun and minhyun too since they are the same age  + have similar quiet(ish) personalities. It's a pity we don't get to see many of his friendships :/

i can't begin to explain how worried i was about evaluation fan accounts but after reading them all i feel so relieved. I thought I had prepared myself for all the possibilities but never did i imagine that Open team would get such a good response ;__; I was only hoping for no mistakes but there they go and exceed my expectations
