I have 1 ultimate bias (Sungwoo) and 2 favourites (Jeong Sihyun, Yoon Jisung) I've liked Sungwoo and Sihyun since before the show started and Jisung after watching the show

I don't stan easily if that makes sense like I very rarely have biases or groups I follow. Before Sungwoo, I hadn't stanned or even liked anyone to the point of keeping up or actively supporting them since around 2013 so I definitely won't be following the final 11 if neither Sungwoo, Sihyun or Jisung make it

But I'm just going to enjoy the show now and hope for the best!

He still looks a bit awkward but he's definitely improving!!! I wasn't expecting him to be great, tbh I would be more surprised if he was really good since this must be all very new to him and it's his first performance. I loved the outfit   

 

 

Don't worry about it, I am very open minded when it comes to opinions even if they are completely different to mine and by looking at the people on this thread, it seems most if not all of us are like that

Also think we should be one of the nicest bunches here in OH. While we are Chibal supporters, it is refreshing how none of us are oppalogists of some sort even when it comes to him. ^^ we all know he needs to improve if he wants to go far and we dont make excuses for him. 

 

Anyway I know a lot of people are worried their faves wont make the final group but like I mentioned in a previous post, I am more worried that 1) with all the clashing and domineering personas this season, chemistry is hard to come by and 2) boys ready to debut with their own company getting in the final team lineup. I just cant fathom an IOI sub unit era situation all over again. I want the final 11 guys to be 200% committed. As much as I love Chibal, I dont feel he had that much potential chemistry with the Top 1-15 guys of the show right now so I aint that worked up if he doesnt make the final group, but relationships can develop as the show progresses.

 

I just watched his eye contact and he def improved! His video even made it to the top 40 vids in Naver last night (he was playing in the 10s to 40s) so I am sure its def ifans who are sleeping on him. A Korean website recently (april 21) did a survey on fans on who will they choose once the onepick rules get applied and Sungwoo was in the Top 5. Hr needs to hold on there till Top 35 but with all the rising boys its gonna be hard since his fans seem to be voting for other boys for now too. Also intl fans totally sleeping on Lee Yoojin. It is strange because intl fans can get so defensive with the Lee Daehwi situation making excuses. I dont hate the kid but the wording of his statement and the way he said it kinda made it more different from the other guys just talking about the F trainees being weak. Dont agree with a witch hunt but him getting criticism isnt unfounded. He kinda lacked tact in a lot of things he did and as an Asian myself, totally saw why he drew all this bashing. It is certainly exaggerated but there was basis on why people got turned off. But this also made me wish that even if he fails to debut in the Top 11, I hope Chibal never gets evil edited in a Daehwi light. That kind of thing will follow you even after the show, netizens will never let that stuff die down. After seeing what an episode can do to Daehwi even before halfway thru the show (who is in A, a center, and a fan favorite) it kinda made me realize no one is truly safe this season. I just want chibal to come out unscathed, he will surely get an acting opportunity since he has name recall now 

 

Anyway some criticism: Sungwoo really needs to work on his presence.  He kinda got eaten up alive presence wise by his team members and he needs to really improve that if he wants to survive this show.

I watched the fancams(mnet was late releasing them too, mess) & he def improved.

He kept up with the others dancing altho i could see he was hesistant on some parts. He needs to gain confidence to show the moves even if they arent 100% right. But, he got the moves down, lol. He wasnt as sharp as he could be, i wasnt expecting him to be anyway tho. He surprised me (&many other ppl too)

So dancing is alright but he needs to work a bit harder imo. There will be less time for the position eval mission to do stuff (unless he chooses vocals)

Speaking of vocals, he has a nice tone, i could hear him clearly and it actually went well. He was stable and clear. Ofc nothing groundbreaking but hey, it was good. I think if he is smart about it, he should choose vocals for the position evaluation mission. Dancing isnt his strong point, and if he does vocals, itd be good - he doesnt need to be the standout; just dont fade in the background. His tone & him focusing/practicing only on improving vocals would be best. Also it doesnt seem like there are that many vocals in this season (way too many rappers and dancers) so if he chose that, itd be nice (esp if its a semi small team like 4 members or so)

His presence to me was here and there, i blame it on his confidence of executing the dance. If he gained more confidence & didnt hesistate then he wouldnt be overshadowed at certain points.

I am not that stressed about him making it to the top 11, bc honestly thatll be tough for him. I just wish he makes it to top 22 at least, and improves/ gets his name out enough.

Ifans are definitely sleeping on tiptoe oppa tbh. He had the second least views on youtube, but like the second most on naver when it came out from the be mine 2 group lmao. (Edit: his views on maver are 3rd least now, but still pretty high up there. His are 53k, kentas is 55k, woojin 58k & sewoon 121k now)

Maybe ifans are still shocked from the audition and scared? Who knows but oh well kfans love him. Some of the comments talked about how handsome his face was, how he suited the uniform, keeping up with the others etc.

Ifans are also sleeping on my other fav lee youjin, ppl need to wake up. Boy is amazing :(

In any case, be mine team 2 did a fantastic job. Ive watched all their fancams, and they were great. I didnt know kim donghyun before but im def taking note now

Other groups also shined with strong presence but Be Mine team 2 is very very cohesive. They actually seemed to like performing with each other. Chibal is actually lucky he performed with these boys as they looked like they could adjust to each other onstage, had he been in other groups he would have been devoured alive by how fierce the presences of boys there are.

 

Unless Chibal gets a really really engaging storyline, doubt he would make Top 11 since more nugus are bound to rise.

 

Even then I kinda think he is better off using the 2 years of the Produce 101 boyband to build his acting career instead. Like what azarah mentioned, he actually fits really well with Blossom Ent, too bad HIM will never let go of him lol.

 

But the name recall and hyoe from p101 would def help, he should score some mainstream acting gigs after his stint on the show. He is also at a great age bracket because most actors his age are in the military so he can certainly fill a niche. In 2 years if he hustles, he could even make the jump from supporting actor to lead. People seem supportive of him especially Korean fans, but they still seem unsure about him being an idol lol.

I never thought Daehwi was that type of person so his comment shocked me. I think Sungwoo is too soft for Mnet to even try with the evil edit but it is Mnet so....

With the domineering personality, I got that strongly from the way the A ranks reacted when the other ranks got moved to A....they were so cold

I was so happy when I saw the one pick survey  hopefully he makes it until then. I had a rough look at the contestants below #35, I don't want to say too early but unless some nugu rises out of nowhere I think he should be ok until then

Was reading Korean twitterand DC when OH was down and the Korean Kkachibal fans are the real MVPs. While Chibal is loved, his haters are also pretty vile and his Korean fans do a great job of defending him. Cant blame it tho as P101's format is all about biases. That is just how the game is. Chibal getting an evil edit will be lethal to his career so I just hope he gets out of the show unscathed.

 

Theres a reason why Joo Haknyeon's lack of screentime is actually a blessing in disguise lmao.

OH is FINALLY back I was away during the last day it was running, so thats like an extra day added to the 3-4. also FANCAMSS! oppa did well in his I was soo surprised

bit of a rant I'm usually rather chill but Im so sick of intl pd101 viewers saying its still cringe-y (bandwagon much), if anything I was really surprised he didnt make a single mistake. I mean were they expecting him to dance on the same level as Mr. Ong Seongwoo??   even more embarrassing some people are actually excluding him from the "did well in Be Mine team 2" list and have the gall to say Kwon Hyunbin slayed on Sorry perf or that theyre blessed by those abs shots by the other trainees smh. OH seems to be a bit more forgiving tho, personally haven't noticed any large scale hating so far

Lets be honest some people are still delusional and have this "cool oppa like songjongki" image of him, which is why they cringe when he's not dancing and looking all cool. I even saw saw a few tweets wondering why Sungwoo ranked high; well that bubble has POPPED in Korea centuries ago and knetz are noticing his hard work and great personality (from those military/schoolmate testimonies), which is why he's ranking pretty high. I mean.. when even Justin has more views in Youtube  I was disappointed by the lack of intl voting but now I understand.

Hi popra, been an international K-pop fan since 2002 (I saw DB5K debut, all your oppa and unnies predebut and when they were nugu, used to watch lot of Kpop cincerts live during DB5K's era too)

 

Trust me international fans tend to look down on Knetz/Kfans without being sure how things actually work in the Kfandom. For example, all those criticism on EXO ex Chinese members dont mean those guys are hated. EXO Ls just work doubly hard to upvote their comments so it goes on top. The fandom of famous groups are a well oiled machinery. There are a lot of rules lmao It is like how ARMYs strategically invade Youtube. See how quick intl fans jump on the Moonbok bandwagon just because it seems to be trending in Korea. International fans still struggle to understand the perception of why certain things are popular in Korea and simply think its because 'he fits the beauty standard' etc they try to act as if they are more open minded and considerate than Korean fans when in the end they are no different.

 

See exhibit: people pointing out every single wrong thing Tiptoe does but defending Kwon Hyunbin, Joo haknyeon and the other F boys.

 

There is a double standard going on here and a Youtube comment I read mentioned the only difference Chibal has with the other F boys being defended is his age.

 

But that is K-pop, youth is an important thing. Let us just be happy intl fans cant vote lmao they gonna get him eliminated.

TO AKAYA:

 

I didnt like the IOI thing because I felt we were robbed. Had major withdrawals when they disbanded because I felt they just began hitting their stride then. Made me realize I am deadset on having committed members. It is alright to use this as a platform to be popular but be committed for the 1.5 yrs of the boyband and dont debut in another grp while the P101 band is active.

 

i think Chibal might slay the vocal challenge. He had a great voice during Be Mine.

 

 

Yeah, I'd be happy even if he didn't make the group and catapulted into an acting career.

But he still spent three years training (even if we don't exactly know what they are counting as training this season, lol) so if he really does want to sing and dance, I can only hope for the best for Chibal! And that he will continue improving.

Vocal for the position evaluation does seem to be the best for his skill set, but if it's a small group so they can really work with him I could see him doing well in dance. Especially with something that requires strength, because... well...

 

And I know a lot of people didn't like the situation that led to the subunit in IOI, but I personally loved the subunit, and am sad they didn't do a second subunit like they said they would. But that's probably because I was a Somi stan and she would have been in the second subunit, too. I am sure that for those who did stan Sejeong, Mina, Chaeyeon or Yeonjung it was frustrating. Especially watching IOI subunit getting awards and shows without them.

But, I do think it would be good to just have them working on boy IOI stuff and not have their attention so split. Especially since they will be touring, and people do want to see them working in IOI. Hopefully if they do subunit stuff this time, it's like splitting them into 5 and 6 and having them do different songs with different feels.

The thing that ticks me off is when they comment about his performance being sloppy, awkward and cringey, but become all "you can see he really worked hard!" or "he did THAT despite being F rank"  to Kwon Hyunbin or their fave F ranks.

I mean the rapping Moonbok vid is repeated and mentioned by everyone 13245672234 times... I guess 16yr olds might still find it amusing... I'm liking his personality better than Daewhi's atm, not even getting his fellow company trainees smh

What I am actually quite nervous about is the vote reset on the 30th.

 

With all the boys rising (happy for them btw) Chibal might struggle to get that 35th spot unless MNet's edit redeems him or he himself does something that redeems himself.

 

he has improved but it is a level of improvement that is not earth shattering. If MNet was nice they could show how nice he is but that is boring TV. Would like to see a mentorship edit with Im Youngmin as it could be beneficial to both. Sungwoo would have a great image if his respect to younger kids is shown. But I still feel that it isn't as dramatic for reality TV lol (used to work in media)

You mean like how it's really awkward that Sungwoo's abs reveal is cringe and yet it's totally awesome and great when the youngin's do it? Because I've definitely noticed that seems to be a case.

 

Maybe it's just an age gap thing? If you're in the teens it's awkward when a guy Sungwoo's age does it, just like for me it's... actually I really don't care when kids do it. I tend to just go 'well, you're fit and you clearly work out a lot/put a lot of effort into yourself. Good for you' kind of thing, but I imagine it's awkward for plenty of people in the older brackets. 

 

So I try to be understanding, but... at the same time I feel you completely.

If you read through Naver, 97% of the people interested in Chibal (you could see it in metrics) are ladies in their 20s. A stark difference demographically with many of the popular kids who have a highdchool-aged fanbase. Younger kids tend to also be the main market for idols and they are the ones noisier in social media. All the loud Sungwoo fans on Twitter tend to be in their teens!

 

International fans may deny but evidence is pointing it to be an age issue. Which is why if you go to Asianjunkie, a website that seemingly has a more mature fanbase, they really like Chibal as compared to here where most fans are 20 and below, probably still studying too.

Also notice the lack of Woojin? I think the kid is promising and talented but I feel Seonho fits the whole maknae image more. Woojin is just too baby-ish that I feel he should not be on this show.

 

With the Top 11, what I am really after is chemistry and commitment so even my Top 11 (ideally) is different from my own bias list lmao. Forgive me, it has always been my lifelong dream to be a producer lol.

 

My ideal final lineup by eye contact release.

Roughly a lineup I am imagining is like this after seeing them all onstage. This can still change as the show goes by.

 

I have been hesitant with Chibal lately because unlike Moonbok, I do not feel he is enjoying being on stage (yet)

I did like the first few mins of screentime of the guys. He's seen occasionally for the group shots but.. yknow what I mean. The most tragic being the 2nd pic middle row, mnet cant even be bothered to center the frame lmao the 4 guys are LITERALLY  the only ones centered in the shot. Mnet thinks they so slick

offtopic I'm neither a moonbok fan or anti but I'm still waiting for that legendary meme king level event to happen to Moonbok. that old check rap thing is honestly as stale as mr Ong Seongwoo using his "freestyle" dance in every performance  
I mean the rapping Moonbok vid is repeated and mentioned by everyone 13245672234 times... I guess 16yr olds might still find it amusing... I'm liking his personality better than Daewhi's atm, not even getting his fellow company trainees smh

 

 

People overrate Sorry Sorry's choreo though.

 

It's one of the easiest K-Pop dances ever. That's what propelled it to its popularity. Even with that, Hyunbin wasn't that good. My friend also observed they seem to give him tips in formation by putting him beside Ong all the time! But skill-wise, Hyunbin and Chibal are same-same, he just has the YG brand everyone's crazy for while Chibal is part of some nugu company.

 

I just read that and I sound like an overdefensive fan lol. 

 

But I think we also have to accept that this show is all about the illogical biases. People sometimes don't wanna admit they're just stanning visuals or perceived personalities (we never know them personally anyway) - this show kinda makes it okay not to be rational. Feel free to like who you want, but I just get triggered when people passive aggressively criticize Chibal that it makes me wanna do a clapback lol.

ok I was reading this theory about the MMO boys being pushed as something like the Jellyfish girls last season and Daniel turning out out to be this year's Sejeong I must've  blocked out anything from miss Kang Daniel but I just remembered him mentioning God-Sejong and it just dawned on me.. no one would even think of him as Sejong 2.0 had he not made that comment. mnet really think its so slick this time I will use reailty tv gifs this time cos text is boring

and then i read another theory on park jihoon not getting any screentime cos mnet was planning on pushing that bully guy. tldr the reason Jihoon doesnt have decent screentime is cos all the extra footage was probably of that guy who left. mnet only has to delete those on last min editing, thats why there's barely any maroo boys footage.

Be Mine: Oppas! and Kenta's a bit I guess. Woojin is a honestly a pretty good singer but I'd rather have Sewoon/Jaewhan. Woojins views tho... intl fans really like kid-like voices singing kpop songs eh

MMO Boys are definitely the Jellyfish of this season. Let's just accept that, we can get angry and worked up but we're pretty helpless anyway. I kinda like Daniel and think Jisung has future in variety (and I loved Sejeong last season despite kinda getting an impression og how low-key cunning she was) but I'm all for being competitive in a smart way - don't get caught or at least ensure you're in the good graces of people by the time people speculate lmao. That was Daehwi's mistake, and Sejeong did it well. 

 

It's the fans stanning talent that I don't get. I'm personally expecting more from people who trained from 2 years up. These people sang and dance nearly everyday of their lives but they're nowhere near my ultimate biases DBSK who trained for less. That's not talent - that's training. Rummaging through pre-P101 Chibal all I see is acting stuff. Maybe this was his real path.

 

Also slowly thinking Lee Woojin is overrated. He is promising, but people are definitely putting him on a pedestal. They're almost same age but let's be honest Yoo Seonho >>> Justin >>>>>>>>> Lee Woojin in terms of charisma. Yoo Seon Ho can talk about food and he trends on Naver. That impact.

 

I'm starting to think MNet airing oppa's audition gave him the ultimate obstacle. He was doing so well before that. I just told of a Haknyeon fan complaining yesterday about his lack of screentime that they should consider it a blessing in disguise lmao.

Probably because I don't follow any international pd101 fansites and I rarely go on the main thread but I had no idea the hate he gets was this bad OMG what's wrong with people. I am so glad international fans don't get to vote

I think I am the only one who loved his audition performance, I never thought it was cringey and actually found it super hot, I watched it so many times. And about the age thing, that's such a stupid reason to hate on someone. Didn't the main guy from reply 1988 debut at 30 as well? He's a 86er. Also I think Kahi was actually in a really similar position Sungwoo is in, she debuted at 29 and had a huge age gap with the maknae from after school (she's an 80er and Lizzy is a 92er)

 

 

Oh they don't go all out to hate him. It's little things like praising the whole Be Mine team 2 except for him, putting comments that he should just leave Produce 101 and act (though he will SLAY if he does), or making fun of his age. I smell a Daehwi happening where they'll reveal themselves if Chibal gets an evil edit. 

 

Even in Korea, fans are pretty hostile to him (I think this helped him produce a lot of akgaes who felt they wanna protect him lol)

My heart felt warm when I was reading this new testimony about Sungwoo.

 

His friends have been really coming out lately in Korean portals to give him support. It really boils down to me now what a nice person he must truly be - he kinda knew he'd possibly be a laughing stock at P101 but he still went and did his best. Makes me wanna support him so bad, but it's not like we have the power to change how people think. This is a popularity game and those are the rules :( It makes me sad and helpless but I know I'm not in a position to considering 30+ other boys who will be removed this week (hopefully oppa is not part of them!) are just as desperate too. 

 

Anyway, this girl used to be with Chibal in some sort of 학웠hagwon before. She keeps giving praises on what a wonderful human being he is, and the words she use really puts emphasis on how intense his level of kindness is so she came out to support him, as well as telling people that hopefully the testimonies people have been revealing about him will make people support him.
