Tip Toe Man PARK SUNG WOO Official Thread #Crushes coming soon

I'm so happy someone mentioned about Ong's thing for age hierarchies. My bestfriend has him as a bias and I told her I got dismayed at him when he said that but what can you do? I can totally see Ong getting evil edited at some point though because his personality seems to be a bit strong, over-competitive and over-confident. Like I admire that he has great belief in his skills (and rightly so) but too much of something is never good. He really reminds me of Season 1 Lee Haein: really good-looking and highly-skilled but a bit too domineering personality-wise (cue Ong fans attacking me for judging his personality based on an edit while they completely judge Chibal for that one audition as well)

Same reason why I totally got turned off by Samuel. There is a tolerable level of things we can handle. The difference is while I have 100% dropped Samuel, I'm still kinda rooting for Ong because I really like his stage presence and uniqueness.

Also not too bothered at Chibal not making Top 11. He's been out of it all along, but my wish is he gets to perform until the Five Concepts stage. I'm sure a lot of boys will rise during the versus stage (first mission), especially ones people tend to overlook so I'm anticipating he might drop a bit more unless MNet edits in a good storyline for him for the preparation of the stage.

I'll think if I'd want him in the final group once we see Top 35. I'd rather P101 forms a group with amazing chemistry and well-roundedness like IOI without my faves (some of my faves like Kim Sohee and Han Hyeri failed to make it, with HHR just by ONE rank but IOI was perfect imho even if I kinda don't like Yeunjung), even if Chibal doesn't make it rather than throw Chibal in a group where he absolutely won't fit in. By Top 35, we'll get an idea who's left. By this point, votes return to zero and the one vote only rule begins so the ballgame changes completely. If we base it from last season, it is at this point the ranking shuffles tremendously for every episode.

One thing I notice about Chibal is that the fans he gains are pretty loyal to him so that's an advantage, especially once the one vote rule applies. The top ones by that point will stay there but ranks 4-11 will be up for grabs. I noticed most of the loud fans tend to have multiple favorites (at least one of the B1F4 boys), while Chibal fans tend to have him as the top pick, despite the cringe audition. As long as he doesn't get any evil edits and improves, I don't think he'll be abandoned lol. I really don't mind that he isn't strong with i-fans as it doesn't really matter at this point. I also noticed the surge of Korean fansites so that's a VERY good thing.

While I think he's a pretty superior visual, I kinda stopped rooting for Joo Haknyeon too lol. I'm sure he's a nice kid and all, but I can't deal with all the excuses I've heard from his fans regarding his audition (which was terrible and non-eventful) At least Chibal fans admit his audition was a cringefest lmao.

Hi! I'm not a Sungwoo stan per se but I've been lurking on this thread for awhile since it used to have Youngmin updates way back when. Just wanted to say that you guys are a breath of fresh air and I really like reading your discussions hehe, okay bye! meowfaceplz.png

Welcome!

I'm 100% sure Youngmin will zoom up the ranks (and probably get into Top 11) in the next episodes. laugh.png  I heard he was the ultimate catalyst why Be Mine team 2 slayed and I'm sure MNet will edit that story in.

Do you guys think be mine team will actually air tomorrow? They weren't in the preview

Hard to say for sure, after all sometimes what they show in the preview isn't even the ones who will be shown that episode, but just to build up the hype and keep people watching. They normally save one of the teams with a better response for the second episode of showing the debut song evaluations to keep the hype, too, and his rank isn't low enough we have to worry too much about him not getting the extra votes of being shown the first episode of debut song evaluations, but I would like to see his team sooner rather than later if possible.

If fan accounts are at least part-true, Be Mine team 2 has one of the more dramatic preparation storylines and they tend to leave those edits to the next episode. If there are 4 teams really eventful storylines, MNet tends to divide that into 2. Just like in S1 where the avengers Chanmi cut was in ep 1 and the Sohye-Sejeong mentorship was in ep 2.

Given that format, the avengers group (Boy in Luv) should be in the next episode.

Omg why do you know I support Youngmin?laugh.png I have the same mindset as you, my top 3 faves (especially Kenta) might not reach final 11 but I want to see how he'll perform in position evaluation.

I admit that I don't like Tip toe's visual (I prefer Ong, although all my faves and people I support are not because of visuals) but I really like Tiptoe's attitude (Ong just brush me off the wrong way tbh, it's like he looks down on others). I cannot wait for Be Mine grouprlytearpls.png

Many people call Haknyeon stan attractor but I don't see it tbh. When I first follow PD101 (Mcountdown perf) I only stan Daehwi and like to see Haknyeon's pictures. I thought he has stan attractor quality. I bet many people see it like I see too. But the more I see him in motion and interaction, he just does not have it. And his performance is not entertaining, it's just....bad.

Every person I stan always has a unique thing about him that I like, I don't like Jihoon but I understand why many like him (his aura is undeniable), Haknyeon just does not have it.

I think BIL Avengers team is gonna be a bloody battle....

Haknyeon's a hit or miss - his visual is the ideal idol look though so it's quite striking. But I'm realizing the more I see him the more the appeal wears off. Same with Bae Jinyoung. They're striking people, but they do not have the aura to back it up.

Not a Jihoon fan BUT I get the hype. The boy has mad presence, almost like Sejeong last season.

I honestly don't think I'm stanning Tiptoe for the visuals (the voice, maybe but I can imagine people who love dramas stanning him since his visual is the ideal type one expects in K-drama) - if you notice I've never really talked about his abs lmao. But I love how dynamic he was in introducing himself and his personality. Despite being the eldest guy, he seems to be making an effort blending with the kids and never held a superior attitude despite Korea's culture of age hierarchy. With his highschool classmates/military buddies coming out to corroborate that (he's a chill and positive guy, age doesn't matter with him, some even describing him as an angelic individual who's never talked bad about others etc) makes me feel that he definitely deserves my support.

Talent can be taught (and lbh, there are trainees who have been training for years but it still doesn't seem to be the case skill-wise) but personality is innate.

Youngmin!! Helping the elderly is always A++ in my book

I'm honestly liking every small tidbits of personality being revealed so far, everything is assembling so well, heck I'm even loving the fact that he did Rain's song hurrplz.png Curious who did you stan during the 1st season.

also some more ICONIC pre-debut oppa pics here

lmao popra you're always so funny

It's interesting how Chibal fans tend to appreciate self-depreciating humor as well lol

I dunno if I quite agree with that. I feel like skill, ability, and proficiency can be taught. Talent is something you're born with. But that's probably just me arguing semantics really. I hear I have a tendency to do that if you believe my friends.

No you're perfectly right, it was I who used wrong terminology. I've overlooked my wording, talent is different from skill but perhaps it's because being skilled makes you talented? But yeah, I believe sing/dance/act can be taught and a sincere learner will pick it up even if they had to work multiple times harder.

Hi again all!!!

I haven't been able to reply because I'm on holiday and wi-fi is not free here oTL

Also I'm on OH mobile and typing is such a pain ^^'

About the 'tiptoe' namedrop in Swings' new mixtape: I only managed to understand something along the lines of 'If you wanna taste the higher air (awkward to translate; guessing it means the air of success), get on your tiptoes, cute, right?'**

** My Korean is.. lacklustre, I can't understand one line in between about 아래 깔아 키높ì´. The kfan tweet is also gone but I recall them making some defensive tweets so I'm assuming that the song mocks Chibal's popularity that was gained by simply 'getting on his tiptoes' while the fans argue that he's much more than that (?). I'm not too sure, but hey, GET THAT PUBLIC RELEVANCY, CHIBAL! :D

Overall, I don't think it's something insulting enough to actually bother him. It's also putting his face out there?

I won't be able to stream tomorrow's episode, I wonder how they divided the teams for this mission (as in: whose idea was it to put so many popular trainees into BIL team 1 ) and how Chibal will be in the same group as Woojin. I think they're gonna be choosing the centre spot in a different way from S1 too right? If Mnet keeps up the Chibal reactions, I will be pretty satisfied smile.png

I also agree that many Chibal fans are strongly loyal to him. He may rise higher once the individual trainee votes begin, I'm anticipating it. Y'all got me in the age range though, a 1994er here. Is there really that large of a disparity in our perception of visuals with the younger fans?

Other trainee discussions in spoiler (hope it works out fine in mobile lol):

My humble opinion as one of the few people here who actually stans other Sungwoo as well

It kind of dawned on me that the two Sungwoos are so very different in terms of personality. (Of course this is just based on what I've seen of them since it's impossible to tell one's character so simply). Chibal is very gentle (almost to a fault) and as we all know, self-deprecative (?? Is this even the right word?) about himself and what he can offer, humble, zero superiority and non-competitive. I would honestly be very very surprised if he got into an argument with any one of the other trainees. Even his accounts mention that he was like an angel hyung, he doesn't seem the type to be confrontative about things to me.

Ong, on the other hand, is very confident in himself, his skills and his potential to do well, I think. His monologues include him mentioning that he sees everyone as competition, regardless of what class they are in. Overall, I'd say he is one of the most competitive trainees on the show (I lurk on Ong's thread also and Idk how legit it is but they interviewed the trainers and they mentioned that Ong was practicing like his life was on the line, along with Daniel amd another trainee I can't recall... was it Samuel?) I think he is working hard to reach his final goal of being in the final 11, he doesn't seem to be chummy with many of the A trainees (we've only barely seen him interact with Daniel & Moonbok). I think he does harbour a bit of a superiority complex, I'm pretty sure his pride would take a blow if he were to lose to a group of lower-ranked trainees. I'm also somewhat braced for some evil-editing for him, I think there is a high possibility of him butting heads with another trainee when discussing the best way to arrange a performance.

He's so different to Chibal tbh. I still stan both of them though (along with Kenta to round up my top 3, I'd make a pyramid but it won't have a pointy tip, it would be a small hill instead ). These 3, I would probably continue supporting outside the final group, along with the MMO boys if they group up together (they should tbh).

My other top 3 bias Kenta: I think he may rise since he's the centre of BeMine team and apparently according to the fanaccs, they did well and although Kenta was very worried about bringing the team down, the groupmates including Chibal were very supportive of him (yesss, positive bias interactions for me ).

About Jaehwan & Sewoon: I would love love love to see them (and maybe Gwanghyun?) in a Bolbbalgan4-esque group. I'm personally rooting more for Jaehwan but since he's an independent trainee, maybe Starship could beam him up, please? ☺

In terms of visuals: My personal top 11 would consist of maybe Yongbin, Guanlin, Seonho, Haknyeon, Euiwoong, Sungwoo & Sungwoo, Jungjung (Idk his Chinese name oTL), Jonghyun (JR), Kenta and maybe Jihoon, in no particular order. These 11 are the most visually appealing to me, I'm really curious about who the trainees will vote for though! Seems like the Yuehwa/YGKplus trainees may be ranked high. Please notice your Chibal hyung too!!

I also feel I needed to clarify I don't dislike Ong lol. I think he is indeed one of the more striking visuals and his skills are the real deal. But he's too aggressive for me. I like trainees who are desperate and competitive, but I felt he and Samuel are overdoing that aspect lmao. I kinda get stressed just watching them. Maybe my perception will get better if they show another side to their personality aside from the "putting their lives on the line to get into Top 11" narrative because I'm sure all the other boys are just as desperate to survive as well, but they manage to show more dynamic personalities too like Daehwi who seems to not only work hard, but work smart (I think we are starting to see how strategic and cunning he can be)

TBH, I would be more interested in Chibal if he snapped at some point because what I like most about P101 is trainees tend to have layers in their narratives. It was the ttapttaphae moment in Episode 7 or 8 that made me like Han Hyeri, made me realize she's just not a plain old cute girl.

Also someone posted here that Chibal, if he ever gets fortunate enough to land a spot in Top 11, can be a good grounding presence in the group - I certainly see that happening especially when more aggressive personalities like Ong ends up in the group and beagle types like Daehwi are in there. He has the whole nice and understanding hyung image down and his visuals are pretty up there too. I also think JR of NuEst and Im Youngmin (I get this aura off him whenever I look at his fantaken stuff) kinda have it so while I love Chibal, he's not the sole person among the P101 boys who can pull it off. I usually like everyone (about 80%) of the people who make it to the Top 22, just that it's really important for me that the final line up has good chemistry and well-roundedness.

If you notice, no two people in IOI had the same image/identity - but I felt there are people in the current P101 who tend to have overlapping images. Example: Samuel/Daehwi/Lee Yoojin (super young & super talented), Joo Haknyeon/Bae Jinyoung/Park Ji Hoon/Guan Lin (young stan attractor visuals), JR/Youngmin/A-Tom/Chibal (that calm, reliable image going on), Sewoon/Yoo Hoe Sung/Jaehwan (musicians), Ahn Hyeongseob/Seonho/Kwon Hyungbin/Jisung (comic relief types). I really hope MNet works on giving these boys a more distinct image as I would really want a well-rounded lineup at the end since it is only in Produce 101 where a group completely the antithesis of an overly-manufactured boyband companies tend to churn out can be formed.

Unfortunately I fall into the category of people who are naturally talented, but not particularly skilled. So I start well but hit my skill cap very early and find very little way to improve after that. And I was so used to doing things well right from the start that when I did start hitting that ceiling I was completely lost in how to handle going forward from that.

IE - I'm naturally an A/B student without trying. So because of this I never learned how to study. So when I discovered subject that I wasn't as naturally good at I was unprepared, because I don't know how to study. So I have no way to really work on improving that and just kinda groundlessly flounder instead.

.... Which in retrospect, I can't help but wonder if some of the trainees are like that too. When you're used to getting things naturally when you find that part you just can't get it's really disconcerting and if you're not used to it it'll completely screw you over.

All these spoilers simply because I have a lot of words to say. Ah.

I'd also like to jump on the 'I don't dislike other Seungwoo' train here. I'd say I'm more... neutral to him? Though I'll admit I do have a tendency to be slightly on the hype adverse side. Which... doesn't explain why I like Jihoon and Daehwi. Shhh. Sometimes you can't help but like people hype or no hype. u_u

JR is... a lot of things honestly. I'm not a full LOVE so I'm not the best equipped to handle this, but I think he's got a very interesting personality from what I've seen of him through various things. Honestly, I feel like JR/Jonghyun actually needs  someone else in the group to be a calm, grounding presence. From my observations he's used to having that leadership type role and seems to stress about things a lot and having someone calmer around to balance that out and help keep him going is a good thing. Very much a case of 'the one who's relied on needs someone to rely on'. I've noticed this to be the case in quite a few idol groups I follow.

I'll admit I didn't watch season 1 and didn't follow IOI so I'm not really familiar with their images or anything like that. My knowledge of IOI can be summarized as 'That group with Somi, some of the WSJN girls, and I think a few others?' and that's it. XD;;;;; Sorry sorry. I do agree that there's definitely a lot of overlapping images and concepts between trainees right now, but I'm expecting that as we learn more about them that'll change.

I think every person has unique talent which they obviously will be very gifted at :) lucky you if your dream is your gift lol

Also will apologize in advance because I totally did an oppalogist level rant about Chibal in the main thread after I was triggered so bad

OMG POPRA @ stronger, faster, better Seongwoo LMAO LMAO

17?????? Not going to lie, I'm getting worried. If he's going down at this pace i can't imagine how far down he'll be when the voting resets

This was always expected though? I was talking about a couple of pages back how Chibal will surely drop rank to make way for people who will get some focus during the Ep 3 stages. His ranking on Ep 4 will be heavily dependent on how he gets edited into the Be Mine performance (most particularly the behind the scenes storyline). The versus stage episodes is when most P101 viewers get more insight about the personalities of many trainees who might have been overlooked in the pre-show, Ep1 and Ep2 episodes so many boys are set to gain new fans. You also have to remember people can vote for 11 trainees, so it's highly likely that instead of Chibal losing votes, most of his fans have also been voting for other trainees. If that trainee is just a couple of ranks lower than Chibal, he's bound to overtake him.

Pretty much Chibal's fate on this show heavily relies on how he gets edited next week - will he just be a wallpaper or someone who redeems himself from the cringey audition. I mentioned a couple of weeks back about my predictions Kenta, Youngmin, Yoojin, Woojin and co rising, so Chibal has to step it up presence-wise as well since those kids are no joke. The key to Produce 101 stages is to NOT get eaten up alive onstage by your teammates. I've rarely seen P101 stages where all members of a team manage to shine in their own way (maybe the Growl girls in S1, but they were nearly all nugus) so I am hoping all this talk about the fantastic teamwork of Be Mine 2 (considering many members are popular!) is true because if ever it is, it's gonna be a first considering this is a show where the game is to try and outshine as many people as possible.

The reality is, a lot of people have written Chibal off after that cringe audition, and to redeem himself he has to do well BIG TIME. Enough that an improvement is clearly visible.

Also Chibal is SO MUCH BETTER OFF than other guys who dropped - a lot of the boys dropped out of 11 altogether as the MMO boys are starting to penetrate Top 11. Not one NuEst kid is left in Top 11 (there used to be 2!) and people like Euiwoong & Moonbok dropped big time. I am thinking it's not that someone like Jang Moonbok is losing votes - his fans are just voting for other boys as well. I feel his support is similar to Chibal in the sense that once they have to choose one, they'll pick Moonbok. There are also heaps of bloc voting for the 'popular clique' right now (you know who they are hurrplz.png ) especially in the K-fandom so I foresee a major shakeup once voting resets and voters can only pick one to support. Trainees who get the casual voters will drop big time. Also Yoon Jisung really rose because he shined in yesterday's performance. I know Kang Daniel is a favorite, but I've been really liking Jisung lately and I find him more well-rounded than Daniel (which is ironic because it was Daniel who talked about how idols need to be good in everything lmao)

Im STRESSING OUT oppa is getting cancelled even in Korea!!! K-netz are now finding out about his dance skills his bubble is BURSTING

C96OTL-VwAElWW-.jpg
Sungwoo better WAKE UP and practice

... his screentime is a tiny bit less this ep. on the plus side, at least he still has screentime fyeahplz.png

I almost spit out my drink

LMAO me and my friend were also talking about how he's maybe pretending to do really terribly so he can pull off a redemption arc ala Sohye/Risa laugh.png laugh.png laugh.png

Weren't we talking about some pages back how he actually went to Winners (dance school)? While he may not be a dancing machine, I was so surprised by his cringe audition because we always knew he went there. I've always had an inkling he pulled that stunt off to get screentime - which he did. But the thing with cringey stuff on this show is you have to redeem yourself big time to make it work.

I wouldn't put it past any trainees in this show to have a strategy, and like I said, I like trainees who work smart. People have been calling Ahn Hyeongseop cunning in the main thread for trying to show a 4d persona but it's a strategy that obviously worked seeing he's the only Yuehua boy in Top11. If Chibal is indeed intending to pull something like that, it still remains to be seen if it's gonna help him rise in rank. We'll see by episode 5.

The Baikal thing, if memory serves correctly, is tied to a different group of trainees. Seeing as Sungwoo is the only HIM rep and they mention that it's members as in plural. I've completely blanked on just what company people were saying it was before though, sorry. :(

Aww don't worry, job searching is an endless trove of surprises. Keep looking and you'll find a good one for sure!

It makes me lol how most of us in this thread are full time employees above 21 lmao.

Wonder who are the other trainees? So Sungwoo definitely knows (and probably trained!) with some people in this show. Is it sure he's part of this group as I read through the article and saw no mention of him at all.

But if he's indeed here, then that's less pressure for me to want him to be in Top 11. The whole IOI-DIA-WJSN-Gugudan thing last year frustrated me so bad, I can't possibly go through that ever again. Like, I like some of the NuEst, BNM and MMO boys but I kinda feel that since they're bound to debut, I'd rather someone desperate take their spot in the Top 11 - someone who will and can commit 200% to the final group line up.

Female Network - the ultimate website for women (mostly 20s-40s) in the Philippines just did a full blown English article and is campaigning for Park Sungwoo!

This is pretty big since this website is really relevant in the country (used to live in the Philippines) Totally confirms my suspicion it's gonna be this demographic supporting him.

I honestly thought it was an illusion when I saw it but the article was indeed there.

I'm sharing it here.

Meet the 29-Year Old K-Pop Trainee Who Will Inspire You To Reach Your Dreams

It's never too late to accomplish your goals.

by Ana C. Pascual| 16 HOURS AGO

Just when you thought being a singer in Korea was all about glam, think again. Those who dream of making it big in the music industry go through a hard and long process without the assurance of debuting on stage. It requires skill, determination, and sacrifices; from staying up late at night for dance practices to having intense vocal lessons daily. You’re expected to sing, dance, rap, sometimes even act all at the same time—and the better you are in ALL categories, the bigger your chances of debuting.

The official process in the K-Pop world is that before you could even officially perform on stage, you’ll start as a trainee and from there your talents will be honed until they're deemed good enough to be shown to the world. There are some trainees who start at a really young age (as young as 10!) and they dedicate their entire childhood in the hopes of performing in front of thousands of people one day; and there are some who aren’t afraid to reach for dreams even though they’re "past their prime."

Meet Park Sung Woo from HIM Entertainment, a contestant in MNet’s reality boy group survival show, Produce 101.

At 29, he’s still doing his best to be what he really wanted to be—a professional singer. According to the show’s first episode, he’s been a trainee for three years.

http://instagram.com/p/BRdPYYsgPNl/

So far, he’s capturing hearts with his charming personality and that amazing smile (plus, he’s got killer abs). Here’s his first performance in front of the show’s mentors.

The show is still on-going but we’re hoping he’ll improve his singing and dancing so that he could be part of the top 11 who’ll be given the chance to debut as the nation’s boy group.

We’re rooting for you, Park Sung Woo!

What do you mean by block votes? Is that the 'vote for my trainee and I'll vote for yours' thing? And this is probably going to sound mean but I'm relieved seeing popular kids like Nuest, Euiwoong and Moonbok going down, makes me feel like Sungwoo isn't the only high ranking one dropping

If there was someone who really dropped - it was Kwon Hyunbin. Really sad, his edit last week didn't help. Especially as viewers this season seem to be more easily swayed by edits lmao! Last season everyone was pretty much rebelling against the edits but it seems current fans react EXACTLY how MNet wants them to, so I guess that changes how the season will pan out this time around. I imagine someone with a Lee Haein type of personality might struggle if the audience reactions keep being like this.

Bloc voting is when a fan also votes for the friends/people around a certain trainee. This could also mean the exact opposite = haters voting a group of people to pull down trainees they don't like. Won't be surprised if Moonbok had antis doing this. Just an observation but I'm definitely seeing more cliques among the trainees this season compared to last year.

OMg sorry guys im screaming no that baikal tweet was just a joke! I WISH Sungwoo got in, Vladimir Sungwoo sounds insane imagine

[+2,067, -3] Heol... comrade Vladimir Sungwoo-oppa has fluttering actor visuals aigoo innocent first Ð»ÑŽÐ±Ð¸Ñ‚ÑŒ love feelings saranghe walk the Siberian road

iirc MMO boys were the rumored ones, not sure if its true.

no worries, It was a kindof a joke I shouldve phrased it a bit more clearly. I only wanted to put "his bubble is bursting" and that sleeping oppa pic in one post hahaha. Good luck in job hunting tho, hope you find a good one!

I think Sungwoo DOES have it a lot better than the other trainees with his bits of screentime, but still I would've liked if he stayed in the top 20 warstarplz.png

I dont think  Hyeongseop and oppa are cunning tho, if anything Hyeungsup and oppa are a little bit on the not-so-smart side, they just cant control it. honestly Hyeongseop looks nervous af in the performances so far Im completely rooting even tho his dancing is quite tragic.

Thoughts for ep 3 SPOILERS

- Oppa triggered by the the word WAVES lmao mnet can't stop showing his audition vid

- He got an interview when it was Taedong's center fight performance, then a zoom-in of his reaction and a cut of him being disappointed was shown after Taedong fails... could it be? OPPAS FIRST EVIL EDIT??? is mnet already cancelling him?

- OPPA QUAKING IN HIS BOOTS

It's not an evil edit until oppa is caught mocking the poor guy. A disappointed face edit should be alright.

I also said this in the main thread - evil edits are overrated. People say it's what cancelled Cathy but you've got Yeunjung, Jeon Soyeon, Han Hyeri (who was THE top 12), Kang Mina getting the evil edits and they still managed to place high. Cathy just didn't develop a devoted fandom. Sure she was likeable, but she was like a Dani - popular but not the ultimate choice.

I'm more worried about oppa's team in the versus and position mission. There are bonus points for winning teams that's hard to ignore, and a lot of times the popular ones got kicked out because less popular trainees who got the bonus points for winning rose in rank. Oppa's fate really lies in which team he goes to for any mission :( Those bonus points help massively. Last season, in an elimination, there was a small point difference between the girl who placed last and the girl who got eliminated andthe girl who survived only managed that small margin because she was in the team with bonus points.

No wait its not an evil edit its just Grandpa Sungwoo lacking sleep time HONESTLY this man 0u0plz.png

Ah geez this 28.5 year old man seriously hurrplz.png

Lmao this guy talking about 28.5...more like 28.9 he's turning 29 in two months.

I hope he celebrates his birthday (6 June) without getting eliminated. That's before episode 10 and during the Five Concepts part, before the Top 22 announcement.

At least let him celebrate his 29th/31st birthday during the show!

I literally said I loved Mnet 2 days ago pls don't evil edit Sungwoo

I was surprised how Hyunbin dropped seeing as he got a storyline and everything

Lmao all these references to last season, I have no idea what everyone's talking about because I didn't watch it xD

I'm liking this season better because the ranking is so messy, it shuffles so hard weekly lol makes the show more exciting and entertaining. Last season was too predictable. I love how the shakeups are happening early this season, again, this probably has to do with how the audience seems more easy to bend in terms of reactions compared to last year. For example: Hyunbin cries, rank drops.

Even Chanmi who got such a terrible edit didn't drop that fast lol. I bet if Hyunbin gets a redemption arc, he's gonna bounce back as well. A lot of the trainees also seem like novelties (ex, Chibal when he did the tiptoe) so it's a matter of sticking to people and not being the 'flavor of the week'. The game this season is much more rapidfire and intense!

If you have time, try marathoning the first season. It would probably make you realize there are a lot more things to worry about other than low votes (ex, ending up in a terrible group for the missions)

I've been meaning to watch season 1, but... I've only watched episode 1 so far.

I figure it'll be great to watch in that it'll explain the system they're using for season 2. Like what the mission tend to entail and stuff like that. Knowledge is power and all that after all, right?

It is a game after all, knowing the rules, twists and turns will definitely give you a hint of what to expect plus it's always cool to do cross-references from last season smile.png

I went ahead and made your posts neutral (I'm assuming you did the same for me). I have to say I'm pleased. I don't get negged very often at all. I'm almost honored. Ty for noticing me random person ;a; I feel more relevant now than ever!

I'll add it to my to do list!

First goal: Finish that Thai bl movie I started the other day.

Second goal: Watch more than one episode of season 1. After all, the interesting stuff clearly doesn't start until episode 3+

Yup, upvoted you as soon as I saw those! LMAO I can't at people feeling threatened by someone who's not even in Top 15 lol.

Also totally got goosebumps - Be Mine Team 2 actually looks like a REAL group. You won't even imagine one was sick af and the age disparities between all the members are huge.

They're not only a multigenerational, but also a multicultural group. Diversity for sure.

Also: KENTA TOTALLY FEELS LIKE A CENTER!

It is entertaining but nerve wracking as well, I swear I almost had a mental breakdown when I saw his ranking this week, not because 17 is bad but because I can't imagine how much he'll drop once voting resets. Anyway, I just hope Mnet doesn't give up on him in terms of screen time

I don't normally watch these type of shows, I'm only watching this because of Sungwoo. He totally snatched me in the tip toe video, that's how hard I fell

I think people really miss out a lot of the enjoyment in the show when the main goal only becomes to get their faves in. A lot of people stanning the show last season were talking about not supporting IOI because their faves failed to make it in the group. The reality is, someone who gets into Top11 and someone who gets eliminated by ep 10 won't have that much difference in terms of popularity & screentime.

My current goal for Chibal is to at least survive till the Five Concepts stage, but by that point so many things would have changed (except my love for him lol) Let's first see how his journey unfolds in the show and if he manages to redeem himself next week. Most people have his terribad audition ingrained in their memories, he needs to reverse that if he wants to accumulate support, that's just how the game is.

But the coven is so scary! Look how many of us there are on OH and how many votes we give him.......... /s rlytearpls.png

Gosh that's a great SS. They look fantastic. I figure they saved the groups that were best (and the ones that were messiest) for last. I'm saying from this image that I'm optimistic Be Mine Team 2 is later simply because they were such a good team. (I can hope, right?)

Based from last season the more interesting storylines happen in ep 4 (Kahi getting dismayed with the Ah! performances inciting fear into Jang Geunseuk, Sohye-Sejeong mentorship, Lee Haein being a dictator jk, trainees dropping out of the show so some groups lost members, that super risky but sexy move Hwang Sooyeon did during Hot Issue)

So... what I'm getting out of this is... that it's probably a good thing Be Mine is in episode 4 and not 3? Or that it could be a bad one depending on how things go

Not really. It's just that a lot of the shakeups happen in ep 4, and MNet will air the more dramatic stages for this episode. Seeing how many perfs are left though, it seems almost all of the perfs this season had dramatic back stories (now whether it is dramatic good or dramatic bad remains to be seen, and I'll factor than it seeing how easily swayed the audience seems to be this season)

Chibal needs to step up his game big time to stand out. While I love his teammates, the ideal end goal is to have all of them shine through the Be Mine stage, but if Chibal doesn't keep up the pace for that perf, he's gonna be swallowed by their strong presence admittedly. Keen to watch it!

Yeah I think because Sungwoo is the only reason I'm watching the show in the first place, my goal is definetly for him to be in top 11

As for people not supporting IOI because their faves didn't get in, that does kind of make sense though. I mean, if their faves didn't get in, to them, IOI would just be another Kpop group

The 5 concept stage is top 22 right? Also, do you know when the 1 vote starts?

Oh my god I am so jealous it's not even funny

who is that girl?

I tend to have multiple favorites and an ultimate bias. For many people last season, it was the same thing, and most people sourgraping still had people they liked who got into IOI but were mainly bitter because Sohye made it instead of [insert their fave]. I think I can support the group even if my UB fails to get in, but of course I won't stan stan (I loved Kim Sohee last season rlytearpls.png ).

If you watch the show and just enjoy the ride, you'll gain about two new faves every episode. That's how it works. It's impossible to have disliked all 11 people who get into the final group, there would be at least some of them who will have endeared themselves to you by ep 11 lol.

But it's interesting to see if oppa will manage to shift people's impression of him next episode. It seems MNet is really giving screentime to his ~waves~ lol
