Honestly, thankyou to everyone who has never once given up on him... I'll be honest...my very first stan ever since they released the intro. videos was a trainee name Lee Jihan (he ranked 98 LAST! ;_; btw due to 0 st) and I was searching for him on Nayana and I mistook Woojin for him/ MESS AT ME.  When people were naming the trainees on YT (ie. @time this is trainee X) and no one mentioned the trainee who was at time X and that was our Woojinieee btw. I became curious at who that trainee was and I thought he looked like the trainee I rooted for.. so I started commenting on YT that at time X the trainee was Lee Jihan , MESSMESSAT ME *slaps thyself*. Someone then mentioned that no you are wrong 'that is Brand Music Park Woojin' (SHOUTOUT TO THAT YT COMMENTER ILYSM UR THE REASON WHY I STANNED HIM SINCE EP.1) so I looked him up and I realised that I was wrong all along bc the snaggle tooth were similar  

. It was at that point which made me look and search for him on ep.1. When he performed hollywood I only had my eyes on him  and when he started rapping 'welcome to my hollwood' I couldnt resist but to stan him. However, when I knew that he was in the same company as Daehwi I thought that he that he would've ranked higher bc of the company train but I was wrong.. He didn't. He was barely noticed by people and I was scared that he'll just get eliminated just like the girls from last season who never got the recognition. Because I didn't want to stan a trainee who might be eliminated during eliminations I tried not to like him that much...but theeeeeeen EP.3 happened!!! I knew for a fact that he'd still be able to escape eliminations . Funny how my hopes for him was to escape elimination/ lelelel/ I mean just look at his current situation now :'D. What made me fall for him even harder and joined this thread was the TaehyunXWoojin leader issue  I fell deep like propppeeeer deep for his personality.  he was just so shy and hesitant (he' still hesitant lma0) I just fell for it.  I'm so glad he's come this far...sorry if I sound really emo lmao and thanks for reading my long ass confession.

 

Lastly, RANDOM: I like his hair now but his Nayana hair and overall appearance was my favourite Woojin look. hehe.

 

 

I don't wanna do compliment users time here because there's no point! I love each and every one of you hereee. Anyone who supports Park Woojin will instantly be a favoured person of mine. what do you guys think of the rumors about mnet having already picked out their top 11? i honestly don't think it's true? like woojin had just recently gotten popular and i don't think mnet would have had that foresight from the very beginning to include him until now. so if they picked out the top 11 beforehand then it doesn't make sense for woojin to have been in top 11. idk if im making sense, but it's such a weird theory some fans have.

 

also, im really hoping for woojin's name to be called early during the top 11 announcements. idk how well his fandom can compete with others rn especially now that it's the final period of voting. and despite his rising popular, he's honestly still in danger. so if his name doesn't get called by top five then i think im gonna start worrying a lot. (that said, a lot of rankings have placed him in top five) i hate how rankings are so volatile this season. i can't predict anything T^T

Don't think too much   Survival program always wants good storytelling and so far our boy has one of the most distinct narration arcs.  His chance to be in the top 11 is high.

I feel like Mnet may have had trainees they wanted to focus on (based on company), but I don't think it's as far as them only giving screentime to the 11 they want to have. Nor do I think they could have accurately predicted/edited the show in a way to get time to the Top 11 - like Jihoon for example - he receives very little screentime in correlation to his massive fanbase. They definitely do have favorites they seem to push every episode though (Samuel comes to mind)

 

I questioned whether Mnet favored MMO and BNM at the start because Jisung got SO many shots in the first ep, and BNM had that whole segment back at the company and Daehwi's interview off-Mnet (when he still had black hair) was aired too. However, my rational for that is by the time P101 started airing, Daehwi was already known to be center so maybe that's why so much Daehwi was shown. Plus, you're right - Woojin is the dark horse of the competition and Donghyun got pretty shafted on screentime. Youngmin has probably received the nicest edits out of this show haha (he's received that leader angel edit like twice)

right? that's why i find it so unbelievable when other fans are so convinced of mnets fixed top 11 pick. im sure they're as shocked as us fans when certain trainees experience popularity surges. im sure mnet only cares about the ratings and the drama, and maybe keeping check on the rankings to make sure the show itself doesnt receive too much backlash (note, while the show receives flack, it's the individual trainees themselves that get threats and other nasty comments ex. haknyeon) and the popular trainees get to debut (which is the point of the program anyway). idk if i just think that way though as a woojin stan since out of most trainees on the show, he's had a pretty smooth, gradual rise to the top.

as for the conversation about woojin's rise in popularity, i think the fact that he attracts the sort of fans that will stay loyal to him has helped him a lot. like maybe it might just be me complimenting us (bc i honestly think our lil snaggletooth cove is awesomeeee) or that i just like his kfandom a lot for getting him all the way to rank 6(!!!!), but we've also had a huge part in his growth. we don't tend to bash on trainees and we focus all our time on woojin? like his image and his fans' image are likeable so people dont see us a threat. i like to think its bc the noona fans set the standard so the recent flock of fans follow in those steps :DDD (but those are just my speculations lamao.)

im so sorry your sister said those things to you. however, i do want to point out that she's wrong. i entered the kpop scene in 2008 (the kdrama scene even earlier at 2006) and it's been almost ten years. i've grown up a lot since then (im attending university now) and i still like kpop. anybody can like kpop (and other foreign language media) and no one holds the right to judge you or anyone for liking the kind of music that you do. that's a very closed-minded mentality.

 

I don't go on here for a few hours and I miss a bunch of pages, woah.

There's bound to be people like that though, which is sad, but unavoidable. Kpop may be globally expanding (more than ever before), but there's still this stigma that comes with listening to it. Maybe it's because they don't understand it or they think their style sucks (yes I have met people who think that, they say they're tacky  ) or whatever -- it happens. However, that doesn't mean there's no one who likes kpop, and just know you're not alone, and neither is your sister.

 

Honestly, if English wasn't the universal language, Western artists wouldn't nearly be as big and widely accepted as they are now. Maybe they'd be the ones called tacky. It's basically the same thing.

 

It's okay fam, just don't mind those ethnocentric people, we're here for you~

 

Edit: liking kpop is totally the same thing as liking/appreciating Asian films or tv shows. Shove Train to Busan in their faces and see if they say it's not good. hmph.
