Not sure how in Korea, but in my country you have to pay until the kid finish their studies and is prepared to start earning money on his/her own. So in some cases until the kid is 26 (aka graduating from university). And he even has enouh money for this so you cant say it would put his lifestyle into danger. I understand if he dont want to support his former spouse, but treating kid like this is really low, because by this you can ruin his/her whole life.
