Right? They dont give a jack shit about us, has no problem with calling us terrorist and subhumans but as soon as Western feminist speaks up they suddenly bring us up as a counter arguements. Yikes!

They don't even care about babies dying in war-torn Middle-Eastern places but are so quick to jump on the 'Muslim women are opressed' train. Trump supporters are the biggest threat to us anyway, they're sexist AND islamophobic.

Trump supporters are a big threat to us yes (dont know if the biggest though haa!) but I generally dont trust them when they come around and pretend to care about our rights. They just want to shut down the Western feminist

1. I don't believe you can do whatever when ever you want and to just do it. People need to stop telling thier kids that. Success doesn't equal free choice.

2. Ellen is not someone who inspires me, Dory inspires me.

3. We are at a point in this country where everyone keeps talking about how men and women are equal or that not one is less than the other. Yet every year we have to be reminded on things that women did, but shut up over that fact they are not the only sex in history that did something for someone more than themselves. Can we all just be people and appreciate people, regardless of sex?

4.  You are not awesome just because you are a Muslim, you are not a shitty person because you are a muslim. Muslim women outside of the West have less freedom in Muslim dominating societies than in Western societies, don't equate the two cultures.

5. Francesca is not a good role model based on most of her content.

6. People should not dislike the video just because its not about men, grow the hell up. At worst leave an objective or constructive opinion the move on. Nothing wrong with making a video about women that some women are inspired by, just acknowledge that they don't inspire you.

7. There were plenty of women who I am happy were not on this video. Some of these women in this video are people who actually try to give back and should be respected for thier kindness, even if you disagree with some of things they propagate. Give proper credit where credit is due.

Well those are my thoughts.

The Anti-SJW community gets triggered by this shit and downvotes it to infinity.

The same thing happened here:

Which is funny because this video isn't preaching any radical ideals, it's just telling white people to stop dressing up in blackface.

To be fair that was poor (or brilliant) marketing on Netflix. Telling only white people to stop blackface is not hitting the hammer hard enough or far enough to be fair.

People are hating on anything feminism, it seems like the new trend is being right-wing, where all those people were hiding before Trump became president?

This isn't the first time that a video from that youtube channel got a lot of dislikes. I can still remember that they also made a video about lgbt+ people, but the amount of dislikes and the comments were just shocking.

Why the blowback? I get that the women in the video don't speak for everyone or even half of the female population but?

Maybe people find it intellectually insulting or manipulative, like how North America allocates one month for "honoring blacks" and suddenly everyone pretends to care so much? Then they just give a list of the most popular or current blacks and regurgitate facts that they didn't even have to research to find. The name of the video suggests that there will be content about previous, modern, and everyday heroic women who have fought for serious female issues like: education, sex-slavery, job opportunities, negative stigmas against mothers and young girls, genital mutilation and the like but the video contained none of that.

So some people may feel as if it's a shallow attempt that pretends to uplift women but only uplift certain people who are "in". Or maybe with connotation that follows modern feminism due to the loudest voices being heard, it has turned people off from what they perceive to be Western feminism. I suppose it's counter-productive to claim that the extremists don't speak for the group and ridicule people for listening to them but never speak up against the extremists when given the chance and now it's getting to a breaking point....man, idk. unsure.png

Also people assume that it's one type of group disliking the video but that's a very simplistic and dangerous way of thinking: assuming that a single group of people are responsible for everything. There are so many women outside of the West who look at Western feminists with disdain and it has nothing to do with the U.S. political divide.

I'll be honest: Videos like these, put out by corporations, are kind of cringe to me so that may play a part in the dislike ratio. It feels awkward, it feels exaggerated in its uplifting tone, with the dramatic music crescendos and celebrities. It feels... Manufactured?

I'm sure the majority of the dislikes are indeed triggered anti-feminists, but I personally am not a huge fan of the video because of what I said above.

The message itself seems overshadowed by a company trying to get as many popular people and as much inspiring music into it as possible.
