Min and G Soul's contracts with JYP to expire soon

Article: [Exclusive] G Soul and Min, both contracts with JYP expire soon... will they become FAs?

Source: OSEN via Nate

1. [+211, -6] JYP should be responsible for the rest of G Soul's life~~!!

2. [+197, -6] I don't know about G Soul but I don't think Min has enough talent to be a celebrity. She was on varieties in the past but only for being known as the female Jo Kwon, she has no merit of her own.

3. [+144, -4] I suspect miss A to disband soon. Suzy's contract renewal is coming up as well and Twice is already doing well, no reason for JYP to hold any of them back other than Suzy.

4. [+15, -0] G Soul was just getting popular with Ma Eun Jin promoting him and 'YOU' but of all the timing in the world, he has to enlist now... talk about the worst luck

5. [+10, -0] G Soul's contract expired without him doing anything

6. [+9, -0] It's unfair to demand that JYP take responsibility for G Soul... JYP has so many cases of trainees who left JYP and were successful on their own. G Soul had plenty of opportunities to leave if he wanted to but he chose not to, why is JYP responsible for that?

7. [+8, -0] I really see no reason for JYP to hold on to Min..

8. [+7, -1] G Soul is wasted potential

9. [+6, -0] Min is bottom tier in terms of priority for JYP

10. [+4, -0] There's no reason at all for miss A to not disband at this point ã…‹ã…‹ the group is dead aside from Suzy

11. [+3, -0] There's no possibility of G Soul ever making it... his vocal style is way too common already in Korea, way, way, way too many singers with his voice style, he's not unique at all

It's not about his unique voice. But he sings very well (seriously, should he do adlibs aaaaaak just to show off the Kpop fan that he can sing very well, heh?) and the most important he even can compose great songs. :s

This month is making me nervous. Wonder who will leave JYP next...

Well, aside from the questionable promo most JYPE artists get, this is true... and he chose to stick it out and debut with JYPE even after seeing lots of other acts' progress under their management.

Prior to trainee contract change, JYP would block him from re-signing with another agency for a period of time. Maybe he thought it would be different.

What's the deal with g.soul? Why are people sympathetic toward him? What happened?

I think mostly because he's a talented guy and people feel like he doesn't get the support he needs and wants from the company. Although some of the comments aren't exactly wrong either: he's the one that choose to stick it out after all those years of waiting. But who knows; maybe he had high hopes that he'd get more traditional promos and exposure when he finally debuted and didn't. I wouldn't blame him if he sought out a different company but it's an interesting perspective to keep in mind as well.

That's true, I'm reminded of that article that came out recently about some changes being made to trainee contracts (not being able to debut with another company for 3 years, or excessive penalties, although going by the former JYPE trainees that did debut with other companies I don't think the 3 years thing was always enforced even if it was presumably present in the contract....)

Funny. I don't see knetizens streaming like crazy g.soul's songs or buying his album, not even his collaboration with San.E did well on charts. And g.soul's working behind the scenes. They expect them to go to variety shows but who watched him on Radio Star know that he's not so into this.

about Min. The only thing they say it's that Suzy feeds Miss A members, it's frustrating when this was already clarified and all of them has worked on solo gigs. When miss a had bad/weak songs as title tracks knetizens lost their interested (I saw their comments for Hush).

or maybe he couldn't leave because he couldn't afford JYPE's excessive contract annulation penalties.
