Seems like the korean gp doesn't hate idols as much as they claim

melon's top ten during peak hours is literally 9/10 idols with 6/10 being groups. this goes beyond fangirls and fanboys "mass streaming".

it makes me wonder if they will soon stop stigmatizing idols. because while there are always comments about "why are our award shows full of idols11!!1" the answer is right here. there are an increasing amount of legitimately popular-in-korea idols.

The market is saturated with idols so it makes sense that their music would be the most consumed.

They look down on idols mostly for many reasons not just their music but I agree that they are a bit  hypocritical

Even if they listen to idol music, how many of these idols do you think they would feel proud of representing them at the Olympics opening or closing ceremony? Probably not your faves

I think they are just embarrassed to admit they listen to idols

Its the same in the rest of the world. when 1D were really popular people didnt say they were fans because they were embarrassed, same with Bieber (that changed with his last album) but before that nobody would admit in public they listened to his music

Its easier for men to say they like girlgroups but listening to a boygroup is like a crime
