How do people manage to look good even in university?

I'm a high school senior right now, and I'm super nervous about university. I've heard a lot about how stressful uni is, and since I already get stressed out super easily in high school, I'm already prepared/expecting to look like poop, have mental breakdowns, and cry every day. I see people online in uni who still manage to wear makeup, dress nicely and smile. How do they do that??? I'm so ready to wanna feel like dropping out even though I still haven't started uni yet LOL what a horrible attitude/mindset I know. I'm expecting the worst so that I don't get too shocked. Is uni manageable??

I am in university so let me tell you one thing: get into something you like and ANYTHING will be manageable.

Work hard now so you can get into something you will be happy to get up for and learn about.

Also during midterms and finals, no one looks good. Haha.

it is harder by a long mile, but if you choose something you like you will do it without sweating it.

It's like a downhill thing.

Week 1-----week 5----------------week 10/finals week

hot        jeans and t-shirt           no sleep/ no showering/ sweats and t-shirts.

Uni is hella manageable. Don't think like that, enjoy your senior year right now. :3

Go to prom and homecoming. Go crazy at gradnight. Don't think about it.

EDIT-also it depends on how much you like sleep hahahahaha. I LOVE SLEEP.

Nobody cares what you look like in uni, seriously. Everyone is showing up to class looking like theyve been sleeping in a trash pile - we're all in the same boat. Also, at least for me personally, uni is far LESS stressful than high school because you're not stuck sitting in the same building for 7+ solid hours a day

don't stress over it! not to go into too much detail, but i've struggled with mental illness for the past several years, so most of the time i just roll out of bed, brush my teeth, and go to class wearing something that i probably slept in. and the thing is, in university no one cares because we're all in the same boat—we're all working too hard, staying up too late, etc. i respect the people who manage to dress nicely and wear a full face of makeup every day, but the majority of students aren't like that; plus, i have several friends who do that as a way to cope, for example one of my friends likes putting on a lot of makeup when she's stressed out or anxious because it helps her focus on that instead of what's bothering her

point is: we're all struggling in one way or another, and no one's gonna judge you based on how put together you look. worst case scenario, you show up to class after 2 all-nighters with bags under your eyes and a 3-day old mismatched outfit, and you'll just get empathetic winces from everyone else who's been in the same situation

its stressful....esp if you arent use to the freedom...my main problem my first year was that I was so use to having my folks wake me up in the morning, check on my homework, ect that when i left i was struggling to wake up for that 8-o clock or struggling to finish projects on time....also gained alot weight back then since unlike in high school the cafe was a buffet of sorts and i didnt work out at all

the first semester is gonna be trial and error you just need to find out whats gonna be a problem for you early on and fix before the next year

as far as looks....i can tell you people dont care what they look like after the first 2 weeks lol....you look good on the first week, during projects, after refund checks, and at School events where you know its gonna be poppin....other then that Sweats and T-shirt works tbh

lol like others said its a downhill thing. unless you are SUPER dedicated and can manage getting your makeup and hair done every morning then props to you. especially when you have those 8am classes. I die every time.

and yes everyone looks like shit during midterms and finals. the bulky college sweaters all come out. haha.

but try your best to find something that interests you. something you can work towards. you dont want to waste time and years. its gonna bite you in the butt later.

University isn't too bad once you get past the freshman killer classes, though some of the higher division ones also require a lot of work.

But my university experience has been, first month dress pretty cute, second month on, don't care anymore about appearance because any cute people who would have asked me out would have done so by then, and it's to the point where everyone is focusing on grades more than what you look like so dress less and less nice.

Mostly, people in uni don't care, though, they are there for themselves and their own degree

Organize yourself. I'm doing really well (don't jinx it) and I still manage to have time to do my makeup and dress up right every day. University is not as hard as people claim, if you like what you're doing that is.

*Midterms/Finals week excluded. That's zombie hair time and caffeine overdose.

Pro-tip, looking good goes flying out the window around midterms/finals week and when you have 8am classes. I had to take an 8am biochemistry class for two quarters when I was an undergrad because only one professor was teaching it and it was required for my major and believe me NO ONE cared to put on makeup or look good that early in the morning.

University is not really that bad, as long as you manage your time well and you know your priorities, you should be good. But do keep in mind, sometimes procrastination doesn't work and if you leave things the last minute, you'll suffer the consequences. So as much as possible work on it while you are still in high school.

And also makeup-wise, don't worry what other people think! Go to school with the face you feel most comfortable in. Although, mad props to those people who still rock a full face makeup everyday, they're the real mvp. I used to wear makeup every single day but i stopped because I've hit pan on almost of all my makeup and I'm too broke to repurchase. Goodluck on your future endeavors!

People in my school are usually well dressed (it's law school, so…), but I've noticed girls (myself included) keep it to very basic pieces like shirts, jumpers during the colder months, trousers or skinny jeans, boots etc, all in quite neutral colours, so it's easy to put together a nice outfit without too much effort.

Makeup-wise, I don't see a lot of people with a full face of makeup and complicated eyeshadow or eyeliner looks. I usually just use concealer on dark circles and spots and maybe mascara.

As for the workload, keep up with your readings and pay attention in classes (I find that sitting near the front keeps me much more focused). I like to make to-do lists on my phone with assignment deadlines, midterms, finals and weekly reading goals, and it has been working really well so far.

Work hard and good luck!

It is manageable. I guess it lies on your priority? Don't stress out about having to look good cause no one really cares about it really. You're going to uni to get education and that is still the main priority no matter what.

For me personally, looking presentable is a priority right below getting education and expanding connections.

I guess it's manageable, I wake up early(ish) and try to spend not more than 30 minutes on my makeup, going to uni I really only do basic stuff like my foundation, concealer, bronzer, blush and some mascara.

Do prepare for lack of money. Also about clothes, I have like 3 pieces that draw attention and everything else is basic. So It's like ripped jeans, a white top and a bomber jacket. I try to plan everything beforehand as well so I won't get stressed the morning itself

In my uni there's people who go very well dressed and people dress very simple, even in the same class, so I guess it really depends.. some people who dress up are already working / come from work so they have to look presentable all the time, some just like to dress up lol but no one cares how you look like tbh

My roommate gets up 2 hours before class to put on makeup and dress nice. I on the other hand, wake up at the latest possible time to just throw on whatever and not wear any makeup to class. Honestly, no one really cares what you look like and you're there for your education. It's all a matter of your preference. I like my extra hours of sleep.
