Do you like to travel/go on vacation alone?

For me it depends on the location. Generally I do like to travel alone because I like do to things at my own pace.

Also most of the time scheduling is an issue if I were to go with my friends or cousins and finances play a big part it in too. I can get very cheap accommodations in hotels because I work in the hospitality industry and I have an employee perks  as well as connections.

I like to be able to create my own schedule, do things on my own terms and have some me time where I can just unwind. I'm not into weekend getaways so that doesn't work for me. I need to have things planned out in advance.

Currently I am trying to figure out what I should do for either spring break or my birthday week. I want to go somewhere within the country, I don't wanna fly outside of it, because I do not want to spend too much money at the moment since I'm going away overseas in the summer time.

I've travelled extensively by myself before. I have enjoyed the freedom to make my own decisions and do things on my own pace but it did get lonely sometimes. After I travelled with some friends I found it a lot more fun than travelling alone

It can get lonely but that's why you have to talk to other tourists or the locals that you meet, unless you're a shy person who prefers to keep it to him/herself.

I do, for the same reasons you've stated OP. If an area's unsafe, then that would be one of the few occasions I'd rather come along with someone else.

Working in hospitality must be nice, especially with the perks!

Its a double edged sword working in the hospitality, especially in lodging. I've been in the business for almost 3 years. I work at a Marriott hotel and the things I've seen, heard with my own 2 ears and heard about are beyond words. I'm a manager to the biggest department in the hotel so it can be hectic and it can be very very frustrating to the point where you just want to walk out. With that being said I do love it and I love working with my staff even if they drive me up the wall.

yes. I traveled to a few countries in Europe alone after taking my university's genetics class abroad in Cambridge, UK and I loved not having to wait for other people and being able to do things I want and go to places I want without having to tell the other person where I'm going.

Yikes, I'm curious but won't pry (and it's none of my business to know haha). At the end of the day, the only thing that matters is that you love your job.

I realize traveling alone is enjoyable because I've only gone to populated places... anywhere with a crowd, tourist or not puts me at ease. But I would not dream of camping alone, that would drive me insane.

I travelled alone for business trips and I kinda liked it since you have the control to do whatever you want and when you want.

I've also travelled in groups. It was fun to share this experience with a group of 12 persons.

I've travelled with my boyfriend, and once we joined another couple in the middle of our trip and some new people joined us and it was fun since we had a few days for ourselves before sharing our schedule together in another city.

I think my preference would vary depending on the plans I have to do somewhere. For exemple, if I want to relax, I can do it alone or with one other person. But if I'm not alone, I'll go with someone who can make compromises so the decision making does not go wrong.

I've travelled alone for work and it feels lonely even though I was busy. I'm perfectly fine with doing things on my own in my country though. Maybe the destination plays a part too. The only country I can see myself visiting alone is Japan.

Really dislike travelling in a big group though (any number more than 4 pax) it's really bothersome.

I havent really travelled alone (i went to japan and korea for a month by myself but met up with various friends from there so i didnt feel alone?)

And with my sister to europe for like 3 months.

I enjoyed both but id probably like the go by myself/meet or make friends there. Making all the decisions for the group is hard work...

But to be truly travelling alone (by this i mean literally the only person you know in the country is yourself & youre by yourself), probably would hate it because im a paranoid scaredy cat. lol
