galhadineas 2,027
I applied to Business and got in too! Where I live we don't need any extra-curriculars so I wasn't really worried about it. The only difference between me and you is that I'm outspoken and all of those things you said you aren't lol I don't think you need to do anything for now, I mean, you will learn in the classroom and you will have your teachers to help you so just calm down, everything is going to be alright. sunshinetrbl 783
Business has a lottt to do with relationships and connections so I would advise you to become a little more of a people person if you are going to do business. hang out with new groups of people and get to know new people as well! I'm also a senior & I get a lottt of advice from college friends so if you have older friends they are a great resource as well!
Kyzara 986
I was a little bit like you and finally I'm almost done with my MBA diploma. I'd say first : People in business have various personalities. It's not true it's just for outspoken persons, etc. I'm more of an introvert than an extrovert and I'm doing well. (Although, I can switch between the 2 depending of what I need) Also, HR does not need as much as a "shark" personality as other major you could choose. 2nd : You don't need to change, but you need to be able to modulate your perception of the thing. How can you profit from an opportunity? What other people would do? The key point is business in taking good decisions. It's not a perfect science and it comes with practice and a flexible mindset. Everyone can come to that. 3rd : Congratulations! Don't stress over it, you can do great. (I'm sure, since you have many point of interests, it's usually hard to know what to do in our life, but it gives you the ability to adapt to everything.) You can PM if you want to discuss more
SugaJam 3,634
honestly that just a stereotype business major is so popular that there are all kind of people. since you are not shy, you will be fine. There isnt much to practice to prepare for business major, but it look to me that you are not picking this major willingly. You can try business first and later switch if it's not your thing...
