Don't come to bristol.

Seoul is a good university. Where do you live atm anyways?

I live in South East Asia atm. But the Korean proficiency test is what worries me - I don't know if I would be able to understand hangul in a very short time. -_-

where do u live?

Seoul or UK?

EDIT: oow nvm I see it already ^

you know. imigration is not very a simple thing,.  also language barrier is a big issue

I would also contact people from both areas. And ask them. about living and systeem of study

Sigh. In order for me to secure a job I have to get a degree from ranked international university.

UK would probably be much easier for me to study because I am fluent in English. Although I would find it even more comforting if I were surrounded with the people of my own aka Asians.

That's enormously complicated. You'll inevitably face cultural shock - that happens even if you go to a neighbouring University and I suppose the answer lies in what you're more interested. That is, which cultural shock you'd like to face and study. Sociology is a wonderful area, but the approach varies immensely from Uni to Uni and even from professor to professor. I know nothing of any of these, so take a look at what's the focus of each course and what you would be able to study in your spare time.

Indeed, you'll learn the most from what you see outside the classes. Keep that in mind..

hmm I understand what you mean. Well as far as I know, in UK, there is a bit of multicultural, europeans, arabs, asians, etc..

If I were you, I would visit and take a personal look in both universities.(maybe that would be a little difficult for ya, but yeah do all you can do..)... Because, you can take all the adivices, that you need. But all you will hear it remains a personal experience from people. And in the end,  you alone will go there alone. And face the fact.

So: ask people, (form both areas) and try to go there first and judge for you self.

Personally i quitted at my previous university, because I  wasnt comfortable there. even though I loved the study I did.

I really wish you good luck, with your choices :)

Well Koreans look @ SEA differently from them. But tbh, you should look into the racial makeup of Bristol if the demographics is what concerns you.

I can easily camouflage myself around Koreans since I somehow look like one. (although my horrible korean would probably backfire that) Yeah, I think I should check up the demographics.

You will be surprise that there are alot of Asians in University in Western countries (you have to remember that Asians located everywhere in the world; therefore, I'm sure that u wont having a problem find Asian friends in that University).

Really, if thats the only problem, the latter sound better.

University of Bristol. I might meet you there :D But I'd rather you go to Seoul so you can meet your oppas. The Uni is Bristol is safer though, and I'm not too sure with Seoul. You might not find a job that easily, unless you know Korean......I don't know, really. Can you not go there and try out both, and see which uni is better or which uni accepts you?

I'm speaking as a person who has visited both universities, Bristol for an admissions interview day and SNU because my father attended there.

Where do you want to work? In the UK, Bristol is well respected but lags behind Oxbridge/LSE/Imperial/Durham/UCL but in relative prestige, SNU has the highest prestige in South Korea (i.e. gets an "Ooh!" response and earns you respect, if you care about that). SNU is located in Gwanak-gu, which is in Southern Seoul, and isn't as pretty as Bristol in my opinion. BUT! the most important thing is to compare courses.
