Asian makeup can be pretty cheap but of the highest quality. Depending really on what type of makeup, there are different brands.

Clio is known for their eyeliners (Kill it black or brown)
Laneige is known their two tone lip bars as well as bb cushions (more middle end brand price wise)
Etude House hs some great pencil liners as well as eye shadows and its eye shadow primer and fix it curl mascara
Aritaum is known for their eye shadows and pencils
Too cool for school is loved for their contour and highlighter kits by Rodin
BBIA have some great eyeliner/shadows. I have one that I am in love with
The saem has a very beloved concealer
Holika holika drawing skinny eyebrow is a dupe of Anastasia and is loved by beauty fanatics

Other brands include innisfree (I love their skincare but haven't tried their makeup), tony moly for some lip products, heimish, April skin, Mamonde, Missha, Hera, sulwhasoo, IOPE, etc

Honestly it depends on what you want and how much you plan to spend. All Korean brands have good quality products.

Skin care is a different story.

i generally agree but only when it comes to single shadows. i also bought their play colors palette and it's not nearly as pigmented and smooth as singles.

oh yea I should have been clearer. I meant the single shadows.. not their palettes. I heard some of their palettes are very chalky and barely any colour pay off.

I also meant single shadows for Aritaum, the mono eyelid or mono lid (can't remember exact name) single shadows.

Innisfree has the best cream eye concealer in my experience.

Missha has the best BB cream imo.

TonyMoly has the best lip tints imo Lioele is underrated, they have great eyeshadow sticks.

Foundation: Shiseido MAQuillAGE & KATE's Powder liquid is also good

Eyebrow: KATE Design eyebrow

I haven't tried it myself but I heard tonymoly's cc cream is good.

even if I have pimples and light acne scars, when I use the maquillage foundation, people tell me my skin looks good. Personally I don't think it's that good against oily skin so you would probably need a powder to put on top of it.

I've heard many good things about Hera and their cushion foundations/anti-aging skincare, and IOPE is good.

These ones aren't expensive, but they're good so:

  • Innisfree, A+ skincare and concealer
  • The SAEM, lots of great toners and serums and the like
  • Cosrx is really good for top skincare, great for acne prone skin oftentimes
  • SECRET KEY, check out their toners
  • Mizon
  • Benton has some really good products

Those were what I thought of immediately.

I mostly use Korean brands (or local brands because I don't really that much money for makeup, cry)

  • Nature Republic - I use their liquid eyeliner pen. I've been using it for years, ever since I discovered it. It takes a while to run out too. Their aloe vera stuff are nice too, good for pre-make up routines for people with dry skin.
  • Etude House - BB creams, the famous Play 101 pencils, eyebrow essentials (either pen or mascara) are great. I bought an eyeliner pencil (non-waterproof) for emergency once but it's actually okay and I still use it until now. A little warning on the Play 101 stick foundations though, the packaging maybe eye-catching but the there's so little product in it :c
  • The Face Shop - I bought my mom lipsticks from there last Christmas, she really loved them, so I guess that's something?

I haven't tried any of their stuff, but Tony Moly and Skin Food is quite popular. Laneige and Holika Holika are starting to join the hype too.

I've been reading a lot of good reviews on Innisfree lately, I hope they finally sell it here in my country.
