Anyone Here Taking Architecture?

Just wondering since I'm having a designer block rn. I'm taking my degree rn in a local uni and currently in final year, 1st semester. Soooo, how are y'all coping with all the shitty workload? (I guess I don't need to actually emphasize on how uncute the workload is right)

Anyways I'm just curious and I need something to muse over bc my brain cannot think of any idea on what to do with my project rn

The shitty workload killed my passion tbh rlytearpls.png rlytearpls.png  Really though, Just go with the flow. It always made me feel better about the situation.. It got overwhelming at some point and i had to slow down the pace when i started my thesis.. I can't function under stress anymore so looking back at the first years and how i managed to survive is impressive tbh.

Dying rn

I'm done drafting my latest major plate in pencil but I'm stuck because my rendering shit is at my friend's house and I haven't replaced my 0.3 pen yet

Rn I'm just stressfully chilling lol

Edit: wait no I'm resuming my research on Taiwanese Buddhist architecture and now I'm stressed again but not chilling

I have 10 tabs of websites in Chinese rn wtf

no sorry but I'm just here to wish all of you good luck! I also have a lot of work (I'm in an engineering school, but first year) and I know how stressful it is. the fact that you guys are already in your last years is amazing. don't give up and keep doing your best !

Oh lorddddd I painfully relate with you on this sis (or brah). Sometimes it just came to the point where I do it to survive the semester and it feels really awful. I had failed my final semester when I took my diploma few years back bc of it (and also partly bc I really had a terrible breakdown that leads to make my depression worse).

I actually have always try to go with the flow but I have this terrible habit of overthinking stuff and it's been one of a major thing that kills my working pace. My initial phase has always been alright but then it just went downhill OTL

lmaooooo first year is always that honeymoon phase. it tickles me sometimes when I see juniors complaining about their stuff (but then again we all were that complaining juniors once so eff that lol)

Btw are you doing research for your studio or the history course? I'm really fond of history classes tbh and I feel like that is one of the direction I wanna to go try to. Like architecture preservation/renovation stuff

for me, first year is the most horrific year tbh since i had studied science before and then archi happened and i felt compeletly lost but then looking back to it it seems like nothing lol

for this year we taking the soprt theme witch is pretty cool tbh so  first we did a whole research about the theme in general then we chose an exemple about a famous sports center to analyse it so we can finally start working on our own final project

for history class we studying about the renaissance and the mannerism architecture and its representive monuments!

tho am still not sure what to take next year, too many options...

Haha I guess it differs to different people. It's a cool coincidence btw but I was also a science student before taking achitecture lmao and was lost af too. I really was not prepared at all LOL.

Sport is a cool theme tho! I think most architecture school have the same kind of programs flow. Mine rn is going for a conservation center on a hillside/terrain area (which is a bish when it comes to research stuff) o<-<

I've taken those in history class during my diploma. It's usually the first part of it. Learning all sorts of different eras is really fun * - * Have you guys go to the modernism/post/universal era yet? Those are really interesting too + learning all the names of the iconic architects and their shady designs lol

My advice if you wanna choose subjects, it better be balanced out. That's what I've learned to do after my last semesters lol (I was being too greedy) Thoroughly plan out on how much time you need to spend on each core subjects it'll help alot on your workload tbh \o/

ugh rough terrain projects are a real challenge tbh my project for last year first semester had it and it was a pain and tell me about the research warstarplz.png  my sport center example is one from taiwan and everything about happens to be in chinese...

yup i love history class but not its exams!  and we havent arrived to the the modernism/post/universal era yet! we take the history of architecture from its start till nowadays so maybe next year.

thanks for the advice i always try to work with it but i always end up cramming lmao i just cant do it in advance its like i need the pressure to work.
