Pann: What's fun about drinking alcohol?

1. [+242, -5] Getting drunk.

2. [+146, -3] When I was 20, I also didn't understand why people drank. But when I got drunk for the first time, I liked the feeling of being drunk ã…‹ã…‹ã…‹ Alcohol doesn't taste good but it feels like people drink to be druggies.

3. [+129, -177] If someone actually thinks alcohol tastes good, they must have a serious mental illness or a disabled tongue.

4. [+72, -3] The atmosphere.

5. [+70, -4] I can't forget the feeling of saying farewell to the shitty reality.

6. [+59, -1] I'm in my 30's and I still don't understand the taste of alcohol. People say they drink because they're stressed but drinking makes me even more stressed. They say they drink because they like the atmosphere but I think acting annoying to other people from drunkenness is rude. It's something I hate the most. Some men think non-drinkers are boring and unlikeable. But birds of a feather flock together. Non-drinkers will gather together and become friends. I also don't like men that drink. Fortunately, my workplace doesn't force workers to drink. We drink a little right after cheers for the sake of formality. We then drink coke ã…‹ã…‹ã…‹ã…‹ I'm all good.

7. [+41, -12] Soju tastes sweet when your life gets bitter.

8. [+38, -3] I like drinking because of the atmosphere. It gets fun when we play drinking games.

9. [+33, -35] Don't drink. It's no different from being druggies that want to get brain hallucinations.

10. [+31, -2] Soju tastes good after having bitter life experiences. That's when I feel mature ã…Žã…Ž

11. [+30, -2] We drink soju for its bitter taste to get drunk. But beer actually tastes really good. 500ml is an excellent amount. We drink beer for its taste.

12. [+27, -0] Soju tastes different depending on the day. One day, it tastes sweet. One day, it tastes really bitter... But beer tastes refreshing ã…Žã…Ž If you have a hard time with drinking, tell others that you can't drink and stop drinking. These days, people can't force others to drink.

I don't get it either. No matter how much I drink, I just get sleepy, not drunk.

Wine and cocktails taste good. 129 people are drinking crap.

I was raised around my dad's side of the family who never drank alcohol and so I used to think it wasn't common, but then I moved to where my mom's family lived and they drink all the time. I'm still to young to drink but I've tasted it before and I think I'll be like my dad's side there...

me, except I'm 27.

I don't agree with the birds of a feather part though. You can be a non-drinker and still be friends with people who drink.

^^^tbh lol

"Fortunately, my workplace doesn't force workers to drink."

This is such a weird sentence for me.

Korea's weird drinking culture tbh. Get prepared to get shitfaced drunk every college gatherings with your seniors and dinner meetings with bosses.

You know what sucks?? Having such a natural high tolerance for alcohol that even many many shots won't get you drunk. So you end up making yourself drink and drink and drink stuff you dont even like and nothing even happens lmao.

It sucks especially because at my uni hardly anyone thinks its possible to have fun without being drunk (imagine not even having friends you can enjoy your time with unless you're fucked up...tragic) so every event is preceded by pregaming...except getting drunk just doesnt happen for me so i end up being sober the entire time. And sitting around sober while everyone around you is drunk is more boring than just staying home imo

Parties are the worst, its super hot, so many people just roaming around, drunk and stumbling on you, spilling their drinks on you. Its only enjoyable if you are drunk but if you aren't its just tedious.

A lot of seniors in companies actually force workers to come out and drink or if they have gatherings they have to drink. There are a lot of stories about people who can't drink or don't like to drink being forced to by other people in their party and are seen as rude or disrespectful if they refuse.

If you pay attention you hear a lot of people, even idols complaining about the drinking culture, having to 'learn how to drink', or not liking to go to meetings because they have to drink when they don't want to.

The taste of alcohol is the worst thing ever. I had green apple vodka my first time and it was the worst thing I tasted. But, the feeling of such peace and non-reality that came after that was needed. I don't like drinking that much but I drink when I get stressed. It's bad when take too much but it's so nice when it's super bad.

You're talking about south koreans? Cause I know all of this. I was just comparing it in my head with my work situation. Nobody is forced to drink or even go out with co workers and bosses if we don't want to.

Agreed with everything you said. Like, i have high tolerance too and goddamn it's so much money getting drunk at a party. You 100% need to pregame for you to enjoy anything

It's not limited to Korea , this happens in most parts of Asia.

I know that there are lots of drinking culture here in Asia it's just that the Korean drinking culture is probably one of the intense drinking culture here that I know of lol. You need to see them drink there irl i swear lol. The alcohol there is super cheap and it seems like the people there got livers of steel as well lmao
