But why is the charting system changing?

It's like saying having a big fandom ain't worth it at all. It shouldn't be the public only to help a group reach the top. Public isn't fair, one sec you are loved and the other sec you are trashed because of a small mistake which isn't even considered a mistake outside Korea.

because Melon casual listeners are just playing the playlist, top charting songs, so having many songs of a group in top 30 during night, because of fandom power, decreas others songs chances to be spotted by casual listeners in the morning. Fans or casual fans are those who search specific songs or artists they like, the others just play top 20, top 50.

So Armys can't make a thread saying "BTS is Charting Good!!!! Slay Oppars!!!! Better than ur faves!!!!!" While everyone is asleep.

I'm not even an army but you know this isn't fair,a group that has a fandom deserves to win something in the competition too, both the public and the fandom should affect, not only one :/

Just because they have a big fandom doesn't mean they actually have good music that the general public likes. There's a reason why a lot of groups fall off the charts when the general public wakes.

I'm agree with you this isn't fair but we will see which group has the public recognisation and which hasn't !

It will affect boy groups especially because ggroups are always more public friendly but boy groups are more based on their fans (fan girls especially and they are at school at this time so it will be more difficult for them

This change is much needed to be honest. A portion of melon user simply stream the top 100 songs. So by saturating the top 100 list with B-sides of idol groups with big fandom during late night = lesser chance for lesser known act to chart at all.

So by changing the charting system, it would allow more diversity for melon chart as new songs from popular group with big fandom would not simply flood the chart.

Big fandom = better monetization through concerts

Big public relevancy = better monetization through CF

It make sense to have the charts reflect what the public wants than what a few fandoms desire. While it may seems unfair for boy groups with the new change, it does level the playing field.

As someone who actually uses melon as a streaming and music purchasing service, this is going to improve the service I pay for by showing me a greater range of more authentic results. Fans streaming a terrible song because it is by their bias is not authentic and as people have mentioned here floods my chart with stuff that just isn't interesting.

That they're not charting like this at peak hours but at 5 in the morning :

At peak hours they never left the top 5 real time charts and they are after 2 weeks still ranking 7 on the daily chart. That's not only high for a boygroup that's high for any artist in general. They have a 42 percentage of male listeners and 120 thousand likes...so whats your point ? They are charting better than expected and they improve by every comeback.

Why are you always talking about peak hours when the point of both of my posts are the zombie streamers at 5 in the morning? Sure one of their songs are on the top ten at peak hours. But it's fishy at some point when a whole album is on the top 12 at 5 in the morning. It's also not fair for something that reflects the music quality and the popularity of the song to be abused at sleeping hours and consider it an achievement.

It just seems silly to keep the real-time chart if it's only going to be tracking for 6 hours. Might as well just get rid of the real-time chart, especially since the daily chart is the one that more accurately reflects rankings anyway.
