Serious Question: Why is Christianity not as respected as Islam or other religions through out the world.

 

I've noticed this everywhere.

 

People are so quick to use holy Christian names or garments or rituals as jokes but will be all up in arms if Islam is even mentioned.

 

I've noticed this on OH way too much maybe because this is the only online network that I use very often but people will call others XXXsus refering to Jesus, the Christian God as a joke and no one bats an eyelid.

 

No one makes movies blantantly and unapologetically mocking any other religion apart from Christianity

 

When it really struck me was when the entire forum, muslim and non-muslim alike, was all up in arms when CL used a verse of the Koran in the concert and people said it was holy words and petitioned her to remove then and blah blah BUT when Zico, Crush and Dean came back with Bermuda triangle and filmed it in an actual church saying "y'all fake bitches" amongst others, no one batted an eyelid.

 

It's just interesting to me how people cherry pick which words, symbols, garments and grounds of which religion is sacred and which isn't.

 

tldr: Respect all religions.

trust me, ive seen christians mocking islam practices. 
or islams laughing at christian beliefs. 

and i live in a very religious country.

This generation of Christianity, the younger generation isn't as religious to cause a ruckus to make someone have a backlash for using Christianity in a wrong way.

Christianity have been secularized since like Renaissance. Society started trying to remove religion from dictating thoughts and govt.

It's hypocrisy that drives me up the wall. Some relative changed religion and that's cool, I respect it but the next time I saw them they were speaking about how only people of their religion go to heaven and how these people of their new religion became "good people" after seeing the light.

I'm normally pretty nice and tolerant but I went off on them because religion definitely doesn't change a person. I've done nothing wrong in my life so I have absolutely no guilt... needless to say, they definitely got offended

yh but they aren't normalized and many people on social media often rebuke them. Anyway this isn't a show who is insulted more. It's more of a respect all religions.

for the muslims it's because they're not used to it I mean when you have countries where you can literally get killed for not being a muslim "free speech" is a foreign concept. 

 

for the westerners who get offended when someone makes fun of islam, I think it's because they see muslims as a little minority who needs protection ​ehm white knights ehm

And maybe it's because comedians (and people in general) live surrounded by a Christian culture (where I live it is more promminent than Muslism culture at least). They just know the flaws and BS of that Religion better
