those comments are really... depressing.
idk about the situation there but if unemployment is really a big problem, I hope that soon enough there will be a reform to provide more workplaces.  though with the president thing it doesn't seem to be their main worry...

It's not that there's a scarcity of workplaces but rather it's mainly because of the highly competitive and pressuring job market in Korea.

ah, I see. I did hear that there are high criteria for working in good jobs at Korea..

shame. Hopefully something will be done about it, one way or another.

As a recent uni graduate myself, I can totally vouch that they're just being realistic lol

Ahh ok but still you can say "congrats to everyone you've worked hard" these people just seem happy that someone else is going to be entering hell which is job employment! Also congratulations on graduating as well!

I can relate. Once i sat in my bed after i left my graduation gown and makeup everything down,

"Welcome to the real world and now youre fucked."

And the big question just keeps bothering you, which is "What's next?" LOL

That was the first came to mind when i woke up; i was home then and all of my stuffs were already here. "Now what"

Or me the moment i finished my thesis.

I don't know what to believe. There's high unemployment but also, workers are choosy.

See this article in English.

here students graduate in june, the academic year is from october- june/july.

congratulation to all Korean students and good luck for a new beginning in life.

edit: after reading k-netz comments I was searching about the unemployment rate in South Korea.

Is under 4%, so is not that big.

Knets are so negative as always 😶

And you must be a positive person right? Maybe your in a kpop-drama fairy fluffy land. This is a real issue happening all around the world, not just sk.

Lmao do you see the irony. You're the one who is being negative right now assuming that knets who commented are "happy" that other people are going to be unemployed. You seem to hate them ;)

It is depressing but not unexpected. I remember the doom and gloom articles that came out a few years ago in the US about college graduates' job prospects.

Korea has a 9.8 unemployment rate for 18-29 year-olds. That's very high, even higher than the US.
