ep 1 is a bit disappointing in variety sense. it's not funny and park jiyoon tried hard by herself while no one supports her. i hope yang sehyun can be funny in next ep (while still doing the work)

Omg this episode was even better than the first one.

And my baby Eunji is getting better eheh. I liked the part where

she asked the older guy (i never remember his name sorry) to give her his glasses because there was a hidden camera in it 😘

 

And the bickering between her and Jiyoon is enjoyable 😂

eps 2 is surprisingly better than previous ep. PD did well as expected (lol dapdaphada 1997). and the casts seem to be much more together though it's still far from previous seasons. i love eunji but girl didn't really bring anything to table. she's too serious but not finding decisive clues either. and while i admired her headstrong personality, some aegyo would be nice. i'm also disappointed sehyung taking this overly serious. i know probably netizens chew him over his performance in ep 0, but he is here as the gagman... yet he couldn't even accept jiyoon's gag. like when they talked about his pronounciation or his waiter-like appearance, you could imagine how well jinho or dongmin would play along with this.

 

can't wait for next week. jang jin as detective plus yoonji and hani as guests!

The rule of thumb on this show is to approach character as a form of soap opera or melodrama. Any attempt at seriousness or a more measured/realistic approach to acting just isn't the right tone. Needs to be over the top and self-aware. I don't think Eunji is deliberately trying to perform her characters seriously, but she would do well to loosen up more. I'm sure she'll get there. Unfortunately for her, I think having Hani guest next week will show her up a little.

 

As for Se Hyung, well, it seems he still doesn't realize he's the designated comedian on this season. I like that he's so absorbed in the mystery solving (maybe too much this episode – he went all in on one suspect too early) but it's almost as if they need a fellow comedian to guest (ideally Dongmin) to kick him into gear.

i think Eunji is doing pretty fine and i'm not saying this just because she's my bias. and honestly, she's no Jiyoon(who has more experience) but she's still solving more clues than certain cast members. so to put all the blame on her, as if she's not doing anything is a bit unnecessary. then again, people always put the blame on females first so what's new?

Episode 2

 

The Case and The Murderer

 

 

a very good case. It was like a very complicated puzzle with many pieces. Near the end, a very crucial evidence is found that screams the name of the murderer !! I think at that point it was very easy to guess the murderer. Even the Online Poll that was shown showed that MANY viewers identified the criminal after being given the hint.

 

Its somewhat disappointing that the detective was way too focused on the freezing hint. He was too busy chasing this one suspect. He was BLIND to any new evidence. That happens if you decide on the criminal TOO EARLY in the case.

 

 

 

 

 

THE MEMBERS PERFORMANCE (contains minor spoilers)

The best acting and entertainment was clearly Jiyoon who easily owned this episode. *applauds*

As usual, good detective skills from Jangjin and he is always open-minded for some entertainment. good work.

Jaerim is showing his acting skills and i love how he is very active in the game. A very good guest.

Also, i enjoyed Eunji in Ep2. She is doing so much better than ep1. Good Detective, Good Acting and Entertaining.

Jihoon is strangely average to me. His performance is solid but he is not really as awesome as i hoped. He is still holding back.

 

i was worried about Sehyung joining Crime Scene. I feel like my worries became reality. He is way too serious. He is only interested in justifying to the viewer that he is smart (everytime a new interesting hint shows up.... "I had a feeling it was like this." Jaerim finds the password for the phone, Sehyung tries it.... "I solved it. Everyone come here look at me i solved it." ) Sehyung seems to have a great fear that viewers think he is not smart. So he is very focused and serious. In the process, he is just annoyed by any attempt of the other player to ENTERTAIN the viewer. Whenever someone tries to do something funny, Sehyung was like: "This is a Murder Case! Shut Up!"  I like Sehyung very much on Infinity Challenge. He helps IC a lot, but the Crime Scene Show doesnt suit him, imo. i have almost no hope that he will improve, tbh.

 

Ep2 was great. I loved it. It looks like the staff really worked hard and created awesome cases for us !!

omg this so much. park jiyoon and song jaerim are the best example for this (last season jang jin too, but he didn't act anything now). it's not drama so overly serious approach isn't right.

Alright, the case is actually not that predictable at the start. You can see the obvious choice when you found out the crime scene and the profiles of the suspects.

 

If the culprit is the Actress Park, which is the wife of the victim, it's really unlikely she would choose the kitchen as the crime scene.

 

If the culprit is the Waitress Jung, there's no way she could think of the refrigerator to hide the body and came up with the idea of liquid nitrogen.

 

So it must be between the other three. CEO Kim can go anytime he wants to his own restaurant, Chef Song and his assistant, Maknae Jang, are the ones who're the most familiar with the kitchen.

 

The rest can be deduced along the process.

 

Seriously, Sehyung should step up his game. He's way too serious even when Jiyoon tried a joke when the cast found the crime scene. Also, he's too focused on deducting based on their facial expression and eyes. We know one of them must be lying, but it's not real situation, it's just scripted and they act based on it. 

 

I don't see Jihoon that good and quite passive in this episode, maybe because he's the culprit.  I'm really waiting for his moment to shine just like when he baited Dongmin in the previous season.

 

Jang Jin and Jiyoon are really born to be in this show. They're the complete package and really accustomed to it. I really enjoyed their performance. 10/10. But in this episode, I think Jang Jin is quite more preserved than before.

 

Jaerim is really good too. I really enjoyed his performance. He's good at acting and not that immersed too and sometimes let out a joke. He's as good as when Jihoon was the guest back then.

 

Eunji also should step up her game, she's quite passive also. I think she's too immersed in her acting. that's why the way she performed in the show doesn't really give her spotlight. She should let it out. But she's still better in the previous episode. Also, there's no her in the next episode...  I think this is when Apink went to some korean festival in LA, right?

 

Whoa!! Hani and YoonG in the next episode!!! Can't wait for it!!!  

 

Ah, if only Eunji also participates.. why can't they just switch YoonG with Sehyung tho

I just finished the second episode. I still see Eunji a bit forced and Sehyung too serious. It looks like the comedian is Jihoon and not Sehyung. The rest amazing: Jiyoon, Jang Jin, Jihoon and Jaerim have been very funny.

About the case:

It's a bit more complicated than the first case. Throughout the episode I have suspected all but Eunji. However, in a specific moment in the begining I saw something in Jihoon's look that made me doubt him forever. I had a feeling it was him, even when the definitive evidence hadn't come out.

Jaerim is a boy that I liked a lot. He' did his role very well and he was very funny.

Jihoon as always, astonishing. I'm in love with him. And even knowing that he was the criminal, I didn't want him to be arrested.

Overall it was ok, better than the previous one.

I am very glad that in the next episode will appear NS Yoon-G and Hani. When I saw the calculator on Hani's head, I almost die laughing.

I think season 2 is successful because there's a lot of chemistry between cast. Like at least 3 main cast (jiyoon, jinho, dongmin) have the closest relation. Jiyoon and Jinho are top 2 in season 1 (self claimed). Jiyoon and Dongmin are same age friend. Dongmin and Jinho are just geniuses rival. Dongmin was not really trying hard to be funny. He just constantly aiming for Jinho's bad diction and doing his best with First Mate character.

I wanted to keep my judgement until a later time but this season has left me feeling so unsatisfied and at times really bored.

 

The cast does the task of solving the cases extremely well and should be applauded for that but there is no joy or humor in it. I find the issue primarily in the casting. I would think having a comedian on cast would make it more lively and fun but I feel YSH is restraining himself (to seem more professional) and it really sucks the joy out of things.

 

Eunji is a professional actress so I can't really find fault in her doing her task, which is to play the character and solve the case. However I wouldn't mind if she made a character she was given her own like Jiyoon did with Park Kangnam (the beauty queen) and the iconic Jazz Park. It just seems like Eunji is going through the motions and it's makes for bland TV.

 

(IMO again) I find the other two male cast members (Song Jaerim and Kim Jihoon) pretty uneventful. They're not terrible by any  means but I just find them a bit bland compared to the witty banter and high energy brought to season 2 by Hong Jinho and Jang Dongmin. They play their roles and do their best but I just wish the show could have a bit more of that humor it had last season.

 

I remember the scene this episode where Jiyoon found that Eunji's character slept with her husband and got pregnant. Jiyoon ofc delivered and basically tossed Eunji a lifeline to make herself a bit more memorable by upping the reaction or comedy but I just remember Eunji doing the predictable and just backing down and it made for an awkward scene.

 

I know we don't want to compare like we've done so far but the 180 from season 2 and season 3 has been really evident. It seems the producers want to take away the variety aspect of the show (imo) and make it more of those brainy quiz shows.Which isn't terrible but I feel the majority of us loved season 2 so much is because the cast made the game that much more enjoyable.

 

No complaints to either Park Jiyoon or Jang Jin though. They played their parts exactly as I expected them to. Jang Jin being the unconventional deduction master and Jiyoon being our queen of acting and meticulous deductions. 

 

All in all this season isn't bad it's just really bland. I can't dislike it but I can feel that it could've been so much better and had so much potential if the creators didn't stray away from last season's formula. It's my deduction  (I had to) that this season will be primarily focused on the actual game and not the people involved.

This just 2ep and this is Eunji unnie and seyong 2nd appearances..but u make like both of them joined this show more than 2 times..of course original casted look better bcoz this is not their 1st time and they have more experience but for 2 ep Eunji unnie also success guess the right criminal..she also success to captured jang jin hidden camera when other cast didn't noticed it..
