And then preferably we don't have too many guest members who are super 'hot trending' or are from those super-popular groups. (because it inevitably ends up really obviously skewing the screentime in said episode which is really annoying to happen for a show like Crime Scene.)

 

For the same reason I hope they keep the cast as balanced as possible.

It's quite the pickle this thread is in =/ Crime Scene is unfortunately one of the few variety shows in which spoilers do actually matter (even if I'm totally unfazed by spoilers)

 

Maybe once S3 gets rolling and the subs start falling behind we can run a poll then to see what the active members on the thread at that time prefer.

 

EDIT: Maybe I'm projecting/I have a spotty memory, but maybe we won't have the issue that the Society Game thread has at all -- I somehow get the sense that Bumdi wasn't as into Society Game as The Genius/Crime Scene.

Now if I had to put my wons on one of the non-ex-cast on the list I'd pick Cha Euwoon. If memory serves me right he's the ASTRO member that's been rather aggressively pushed by their company y/n? Not a fan ASTRO (sorry) so I have no idea what his schedule's like, but scale of the program seems about right for a group of their level.

Love this show and been waiting forever for S3 ^^ I'm happy that Park Jiyoon and Jang Jin are back, it's a pity they couldn't get Kong thoguh ;_; Amongst new cast, i'm most doubtful about Sehyung. Only saw him on IC and he left me bad impression, his trying hard and attic ticked me off, like it's not even funny and border annoying. I hope he'd tame down a bit here, CS isn't a comedy show, hope he gets the notice. Personally i wish season 3 will go more with darker themes/cases. It'd be nice change if they switch to other than modern times too. Last but not least, Eunji! xD i voted for her on the poll without expecting anything, so yay, she's expressive and i can see her in this kind of show. I hope the one who subbed S1-2 will continue subbing this season even without Kong 

If their teaser-parody of the president's notebook scandal is any indication, we might just be in luck! :D

 

 

 

No hong jin ho,? Isnt this map literally the brains of crime scene since season 1? Additionally i dont really think yang se hyung is a good cast for this type of show, i have a feeling the pd is trying to make it more humor and comedy like with the cast selected.

 

I'm not too excited about the castings, but editing is king and the filming of CS gives a lot of footage for the PDs to work with. I agree that the castings point towards a more comedic and/or standard-variety tone, but I have faith in the team. (This is the same team as S1 & 2 right?) Season 1's start wasn't all that great either and hey experimented with the formats quite bit but the show managed to find its footing

It also contains info about the first case. My rough translation of the CHN translation are in spoilers just in case anyone's sensitive about this kind of thing. All I can say is, CS PDs you definitely know what's on the nation's pulse.

 

 

14th of July, the PDs of JTBC's variety show <Crime Scene> revealed the background of the first case and suspect "Fugitive Crime" (T/N: I'm not sure I'm translating the EP title right)

 

According to the material revealed, in the first case "Poll Candidate's Murder" the victim [NAME] is a presidential candidate whose body was found in a rubbish heap(?) by a cleaner a day before the election. The five suspects of this case are the candidate of the opposition party, the personal assistant of the opposition candidate, [NAME]'s wife, the lobbying assistant of [NAME]'s party, and the representative of the opposition party.

 

Stuff about audience guessing participation thingy, basic info about Crime Scene the series.

[Ji Yoon] Personal assistant of the opposition candidate

[Eunji] Victim's wife

[se-Hyeong] lobbying assistant of [NAME]'s party

[unnamed] representative of the opposition party.

Why Eunji 51 y/o...   it must be base on true story or what?

 

Possibly! I remember that the cases of Crime Scene are inspired by RL crimes, which they talk briefly about in the outro of each case episode (I think they eventually dropped it though...?) Plus the roles (and costumes!) are already set before being given to the cast/the cast chooses. I recall many funny moments in the earlier seasons where the cast would sometimes pick and choose the roles based on this

Rather off-topic, but fans of Crime Scene who're into videogames should give Dangan Ronpa a try, especially DR2.

Two years already huh... I hope Crime Scene continues to have much success and attention, and eventually turns into a long-running variety series akin to Law of the Jungle :D
