I haven't been online in like a day but have y'all started sending your lists?

I sure did.

For my list I went with Korean songs from the 90s I remember liking but I've never seen anybody talking about these songs online. In a few cases I excluded some more known songs from the 90s to share some lesser known album tracks and what not from those times.

I hope you enjoy what you get Myth!!!

Deftones - Be Quiet and Drive (Far Away) 1997

I've only heard Deftones' latest album "Koi No Yokan" but never tried their earlier work. Be Quiet and Drive has a catchy and melodic guitar line and the drums have a nice beat. Chino's vocals are good and clean, sometimes overpowered by the guitars and he breaks out some screamo at the end. This was definitely something that would've been top 40 in the late 90s but I can see myself getting tired of this song since the guitars can get repetitive. I'm happy to say the band has gotten better since this song. 7/10

The Dismemberment Plan - The City 1998

I can see myself falling for "The City".The song starts out mellow with soft guitars but then the drums and synth come in to give the track some energy. The instrumental is like a roller coaster, taking you all over the place but always going in a calculated path and slows down at certain points so the listener can catch his/her breath. Travis' vocals are decent, very indie rockish and fit the music. The lyrics are great too, very introspective and they paint a vivid picture of the scenery and senses. From the melody to the lyrics and vocals, this song just does everything right. Can't wait to add it to my collection. 9.75/10

Omg I just saw this thread and am so sad I missed out. I'm going to have to watch more carefully in the future.

Do people post their lists here when done? I'd love to see what people suggested.

Yup, we get to post our partner's songs reviews here for others to see and in hopes for other people to check.

Bjork - Enjoy 1995

I've heard of Bjork but never bothered to hear her music which might be a mistake on my part. This track begins dark with haunting synth and sound effects but then the beat and bass comes in and things become tense. Bjork only adds to the tense atmosphere with her filtered vocals, which are decent. The lyrics are fascinating, it's basically about temptation but the details and imagery make this an interesting song to decipher. Electronic songs like these are right down my alley so this is something I'd definitely replay a lot. 8.25/10

Aco - Spleen 1999

Here's a song where I adore the instrumental but wish the vocals weren't there. The instrumental has a jazzy trip-hop arrangement with a string section after the second chorus for some dramatic effect. I especially like the last two minutes where it's just instrumental music with this ambient beat and light synth. Aco's vocals are not bad but not good, I just don't like her delivery. Yeah, I wish this was just an instrumental track but it is what it is. 6.5/10

Chara - Heaven 1991

Once again, the instrumental I love, the vocals I don't. The music sounds very late 80's/early 90's with the bass, keyboard, beat, and guitar. It kind of reminds me of the Pretty Woman song "King of Wishful Thinking". Chara's vocals are whiny and messy, did not like the delivery of this one. Personally, I'd rather listen to King Of Wishful Thinking over this. 4/10
