Are all new gen girlgroups too 'tame' to be compared to Blackpink and Twice?

What i mean by that, is that will the other new gg besides TwicePink ever reach the amount of star power they do? Do you ever see them ever getting out of mediocrity?

 

For example, one group may be talented vocally but they lack fandom power and mediocre sales.

Another may be a group from the big 3 but have very little impact on just about eveything.

 

If you were to take a look at both Twice and Blackpink, not only are the members very well rounded, but their impact is all around great as well. Not only have they both managed to be huge nationally, but also internationally.

 

imo I just don't see any (for the time being) group coming close to these two i listed

 

What are y'all thoughts on this matter?

twicepink are very popular, but let's not throwing shade at the "vocally talented gg" and "another gg from the big 3". they have bigger impact than you think

If you look at the actual numbers, Gfriend and Mamamoo are selling better than Blackpink. Blackpink is pretty much on the same level as Red Velvet.

 

So, to answer to your question :

To reach the amount of star power of Blackpink : Yeah there are a few groups that are above Blackpink like Gfriend, Mamamoo and Red Velvet. Blackpink is overhyped internationally, in Korea they aren't as popular yet.

 

To reach Twice level : I agree with you, no group will ever come close to Twice popularity. Twice is out-of-category for now. If they're good, next SM or YG ggs might be able to come close, but it'll be like creating another SNSD which isn't an easy feat even for SM/YG.

 

Remember, WG became the NGG then SNSD happened, so everything is possible.
