There's A Difference Between SNSD's M/V's reaching 100 million views vs. These other newer groups hitting 100 mil

Soshi's videos were UNIQUE views, people genuinely interested in the video or the song.

Twice's, BTS, etc. views are different because they are the results of mass streaming by fans, which is why views are being removed bc spam and shit like that. That's why it took longer for soshi to get 100m

Tbh, not many people were even on yt when Soshi was in their prime. Queens should be acknowledged (along with the whole of second gen aka the real trendsetters).

My question to you is how do you even know this? Do you work for youtube? Are you close with someone who does?

Fans can stream 24 hours a day and will have absolutely no idea if any of those views counted, because no one on the outside is privy to how youtube counts views. You see all those fans in the comment sections having streaming parties and each fandom making a special poster about the right way to stream, yet all of it is based on assumptions. I do think SNSD's early videos hitting 100 mil is a bigger deal than when groups do it now, mainly because of how bigger and widespread kpop has gotten and how much easier it is to accumulate views. But don't say anything if all you're working with are assumptions and literally zero evidence of what you spew.

i dont know about the unique views but i think people  dismissed as irrelevant because of the mass streaming i mean its not really cool when you find out that one person contributed with 10 000 views and they even brag about in the comments:

i had the office free at break time and i played the song on over 70 posts!!11!!

i had my phone, tablet, pc... ext  all playing all day!!1!1

i have been watching for 7 hours!!11!!
