How many groups with non-ethnically Korean members have actually risen to a high tier in South Korea?

I was thinking today how rare it is for a Kpop group with foreign members to actually rise to a high tier in South Korea. I can think of Exo and Twice, but other than that I'm coming up short. Despite this, tons of Kpop groups actually have non-Korean members. Do you think this hinders their success in South Korea, or is it just all due to coincidence? I think it's fairly indisputable that non-Korean members help in gaining ifans, but I don't know if that's the case in South Korea.

I remember a kind of weird pann post about groups with fully Korean members that rubbed me the wrong way too once. I don't think there's active discrimination happening but it's... odd sometimes.

It could also be that the debut of foreigners in Kpop groups is a more recent trend and their groups haven't had time to rise up yet. But I don't know.

EDIT: Suju would count as well alongside Exo and Twice

As reference, for high tier all ethnically Korean groups I'm considering:

- Big Bang

- TVXQ

- SNSD

- 2NE1

- Wonder Girls

- Sistar

- Infinite

- Beast

- Shinee

- BTS

there aren't a lot of foreigner born idols outside of Big 3 and some relevant companies (Starship Cube etc)

Really? I feel like it's quite common to seem them in groups nowadays. But I mentioned in my OP that this might be a recent trend and they still need time to rise.

Super Junior M didn't they sell well?

Oh damn I forgot Suju. Yeah, they would count too.

seventeen could happen

I know svt aren't high tier yet but they are rising pretty well so far and they have china line :3?

Yep, I think Seventeen has a good chance if they continue building their fanbase. But as of now, I wouldn't list them alongside the groups in my OP.

I can see the argument, I guess this is getting into semantics of what constitutes as "high tier."

2pm is high tier. They have a bigger peak than some groups you have listed in your OP.

I think they ranked no.1 on gallup in 2009? Im not a fan so maybe i remember wrongly so someone correct me if im wrong.

This is sending really positive messages for K-Pop becoming more internationally popular.
I mean, it's a great business idea to have an international idol in the group to help boost sales from that idols home country but it's very encouraging when that idol is well loved and popular in Korea. It shows how Korea is becoming more accepting towards hard working foreigners.
Think about the bad history between Korea and Japan but now Twice's Japanese members are some of the most loved celebrities in the industry. These are good steps forward.
To add on, NCT has a bright future and they have a few ethnically diverse members. They're not high tier yet, but people expect great things from them.
