I am a freshman in the university and in my class there is a girl who studied with me in High school, whe finished high school in 2012  and at that time she was already interested in the undergraduate of business and administrations, In 2013 I was studying journalism, but I didn´t liked the course so I changed, I want to know why she is a freshman like me, but I don´t how to do it without being rude, and every time that I try to speak to her it is a bit akward.

can anyone help me :P

Maybe she switched course like you too or she just didn't took up college ed after finishing hs.

But you seem interested in her. Are you a guy?

Just be cool, don't get nervous around her, just chill and ask her casually.

If she doesn't have close friends yet, it can be an advantage for you too be closer to her. Just take every situation seems like you don't have any close friends yet, and you know her so maybe you can hang out with her more... that's it i think.
