Even from New Kpop fans I've seen them go "omg I hate sm" I mean I know about the JYJ case and their other lawsuits but is that where all the hate is coming from. There's a YouTube video about SM's New Kpop School and everyone in the comments "I have a bad feeling about this because it's SM" "If it were JYP, YG or BigHit it'd be a success" "omgg yes but I want BigHit to do this " "It'd be better if JYP was the one doing this" Like do they hate SM as in the company or just their artists? do they believe that Sm is the only company that "Mistreats" their artists and the rest treats theirs like gods and goddesses or??? Just a few examples off the top of my head: The whole Exo and all the Chinese member drama Just yesterday it was a little bit disappointing when SM delayed the release of Taeyeon MV. Taeyeon was even surprised. And I'm still a little bit disappointed at what happened with Red Velvet's debut. I was so shocked there was no quality control over the MV. Red Velvet lost all the views because someone didn't pay attention to the stock images :( But these are all just rumors. I don't know if they actually treat their artists badly. I've see a lot of nugus who get into kpop not knowing anything but cuz they read nonsense comments they see "oh... people hate them. I think most fans choose to either ignore it cuz they don't want to believe their artists come from a bad company. or... they just aren't relevant enough to make a big deal of it. Most companies release the same type/style of music so people with more hip-hop or western taste will probably "stan" YG because of their style of music I mean look at BigBang, 2ne1, Blackpink and it's the same with other companies. When shit happens many fans automatically put the blame on the company. Many sones hate SM for what happened with Jessica even though there's nothing to hate really, at worst they managed it badly. People tend to believe what other fans say instead of searching themself. SM has a pretty bad historic with members leaving groups and trials so it's expected to see many fans hating on the company. In our convo I mentioned about a friend who used to work for SM and she replied with "oh she worked for sm... I don't like that company." When I asked why she didn't give any specific answer but just said "I heard some things." I asked what things and again nothing specific just "from other people." So I thought to myself... so you really did no research yourself just joining a hate bandwagon from random people who probably heard the same nonsense from strangers and just kind of 'dominoed' from comment to comment. I mean. it happens not only with sm. but does seem to happen more with sm. I guess cuz they have been the first kpop/entertainment company and many have jealousy toward them. regardless of how people feel about them tho... truth is they paved the way for companies after them. if not for sm these other companies wouldn't rise cuz they've watched and learned from sm. The only thing YG doesn't get dragged for is paying his artists well. JYP gets dragged for lack of promotions for his lesser popular groups, too, just not pay.
