I am hoping for a modern drama from these two, but the rumor right now is a movie, Eastern Palace.

Her agency got the rights to the drama so she will probably be the lead. The rumor with ZLY and YY is about the movie, but you can't really trust rumors too much in c-ent.

I was thinking the same. It is just a tea brand, but it got both Yang Yang and Zhao Liying. That is a lot of money right there.

Those soft drinks make a ton of money trust me. Their margins are high and you gotta remember they sell to 1.4 billion people, they have plenty of money stockpiled to hire big name endorsers.

Yeah, it must be like Pepsi money. They also put their pictures on the brand so a lot of fans buy them just for the pictures.

YYASSSSS my dream pairing! so happy that their actually collaborating on something. i wanted them to collaborate on Eastern Palace sooo much like i read the book and they'll fit the role so well but i read that some ruby lin or fanbingbing already got the tv/drama rights which is kinda disapointing cause they don't really fit the description. BUT yas CF is good start.

I think FBB will be the female lead in the drama version. And YY and ZLY will be the main lead in the movie version which will be directed by actress-turns-director Lin Xinru (her first time as director). 

 

I liked both of them but I hope they won't accept this movie. They deserve better project. Anyway, I don't want them to compete with FBB's big budget drama.

I honestly like YY and ZLY but please not them for Dong Gong.

 

I always imagined a male lead who looks more sinister,sexy, and striking (kinda like Tao, Vin Zhang, Arron Yan?) but Yang Yang has a very boyish, idol-like feel that doesn't fit the male lead.

 

Also imagined female lead to have a dominating presence (not like ZLY can't but I feel there are other actress who fit this more) like Crystal Zhang, Victoria (though given the emotional punches needed for Dong Gong...she really needs to improve) but I think the best person for this role would be Janice Wu Qian.

 

Them A-listers always be getting the role in great novels even when they're not the best fit (*coughs* Yang Mi *coughs* Angelababy) :(

As for Yang Yang, I remember Alec Su saying that he embodies both angel and devil which makes him a very well rounded actor and I think he did a pretty good job of that in Left Ear. His drama roles have no diversity, but he does choose more versatile movie roles.

Like I said...I stan both actors. Loved YY since Left Ear and ZLY since Lu Zhen.

 

Sure they can do, but being able is not equivalent to being the perfect cast for a drama. I'm sure they'll find a way to do be ok in case they're casted, but I can think of a handful other actors who could hit it big if given these roles like Wang Kai's turn as Prince Jing in Nirvana in Fire. Knowingly, many other actors can also do the Prince Jing role but we knew Wang Kai owned it.
