Off the top of my head Agon: the atomic dragon. Or something like that. It was essentially a Godzilla rip-off. It made me laugh quite a few times. You can even watch it on youtube with subtitles. The subject matter of these is a bit dark: - Harakiri (1962) - Woman In the Dunes (1964) - Gate of Flesh (1964) - The Face of Another (1966) - Funeral Parade of Roses (1969) For something a bit lighter, check out anything from Yasujiro Ozu. His films can be slow paced, but they paint a pretty good picture of everyday life in Japan: - Late Spring (1949) - Tokyo Story (1953) - Floating Weeds (1959) - An Autumn Afternoon (1962) Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
