Will be interesting to see what the ratings today were. Previously they have gotten two ratings >5%, which were both on dates were rivalling show didn't air. (E01 = I Live Alone didn't air, E05 = Almost all other variety shows were cancelled because of President scandal).

But starting this week, My Ugly Duckling has moved to sundays, and Baek Jong-won's Top 3 Chefs takes its place in the friday timeslot. Top 3 Chefs used to be quite popular, but has scored ~6% recently. I don't think a lot of viewership from My Ugly Duckling overlaps with Slam Dunk's target audience, but it'll be interesting to see if it has an effect on ratings. Would be great with a late-season increase to give KBS a reason for ordering a third season. laugh.png

KBS have launched 3 all-female variety shows this year, so it seems like they really want to have one on their books.

I think so too! I mean it's episode 10 and they didn't even start to practive the 2nd song :o

I doubt they will have two songs though. Next episode which is episode 11, they then decide who would rap and their stage dresses. It just can't be right to debut on episode 12 and end everything...

Well at one point they had two song but i guess the 2nd is a b-side so maybe they won't show the recording ^^

It just impossible to be 12 episodes. Maybe 15?

We know that the stuff that appears in each episode is recorded roughly two weeks earlier... which by that estimate would mean they're recording episode 12 material this/next week (also, Minzy's solo debut is imminent, which will probably feature on the show in some capacity). So yeah, it's safe to say it will keep going indefinitely until they officially announce release and music show dates.

Just want to share my thoughts here...

Am I the only one a bit disappointed that they are focusing more on the vocal teacher recently? I understand he's getting attention because he used to be a handsome former idol, but at some point I feel it's a bit too much. For examples, in the latest episode he's being focused while dancing as Jinkyung's replacement, or the previous episodes when he was dancing and singing his debut song. Honestly? I am not interested in seeing him learning the Unnies dance in a room with low quality lightning, we know he was an experienced idol. I'm watching the Unnies for them to show us the strength of females in male-dominated Korean variety shows. I prefer to see them showing how the Unnies like Yewon, Jinyoung, Chaeyoung learning the dance, struggling, and victorious. Or, how about also focusing on the Unnies' activities outside of their girl-group project? E.g. Minzy is currently preparing to debut solo, how is she coping with that while also being the leader of Unnies? How about Yewon, who also had premiered her comedy movie while she's with the Unnies? Or even Sook or Somi, who is so busy being all over television, how did they manage their trainings with their busy schedules? These will make better and interesting storylines.

I've been watching Unnies since season 1, and I really like that the show is really focused to show the strength of its female main cast, like Jinkyung's hard work, jack of all trades Ra Miran, bad-ass Jessi. I hope they add more episodes to this season to focus more on that.

Don't get me wrong, I still enjoy this season very much, I simply think it can be better. smile.png

I didn't watch last episode, but there was a time they repeated him dancing to his group song too many times in the middle of training and that was too much for me. They do focus a lot on him. At first it was interesting, now it's just repetitive. Somi even pretended to have a crush on that guy from immortal songs, hopefully they at least drop this crush angle.

Same. But apparently he is darn popular now with his name being one of the top search terms... so... there you go. No offense to anyone who likes him but I am just gonna fast forward his parts. Lol.

My short term memory might fail me here, but I don't think he was in episode 9 at all. In any case, the guy was a hot issue for a while, so of course they're gonna give him more screen time. Same goes for Somi crushing on guys – she's a teenage girl, it's fine, the fake loveline is just another variety show trope that will never go away.

Not sure when it was the episode I was talking about. It was when they made him dance to his original group many times. And I dont mind her crushes (she's my fave), but they put this angle so many times one can't help feeling awkward. Sometimes she's just standing there and they are adding blushes to her face and what not.

Hmm for me, the order in which they air the events that happen isn't much of a problem because I can still follow the progress of this girl group project - the pds are showing the steady progress and improvements on the members' part and also the various lessons and discussions that happen in the makings of a girl group. However for ep 9, I felt the way they were trying to fit in the immortal song practice/broadcast felt unnatural so it threw the balance of the episode off.  If the the cuts from one scene to another had flown more naturally, it might have come off better. The rap lesson part was weirdly short/abrupt too.. but nvm about that. I loved the editing in the past few episodes though, especially 5-7. It's just ep 9 that threw me off, so hopefully they can gain track again!

I'm so glad I'm not the only one who felt this way about this episode.  I'm like just show the episode!  I was already invested in the story and then they do a switch?!?!  I wasn't ready to care about the timeline jump because I was already ready for the immortal songs performance.

Can't lie, I got teary eyed and cried a bit for Yewon when she was at the piano. She has worked so hard and come so far. What a great personal victory for her. I'm so excited for her.
