My honest & non-pretentious thoughts about BTS' 'Spring Day'

I think what most people's reactions to when they first hear this song is about the members possibly talking about  their past love. Or about a girl who they've missed. Which is quite understandable as most songs deal with or have subjects regarding love.

But I think this goes on a lot deeper than initially thought..

What I interpreted from the song itself, accompanied by the visually awe-inspiring MV and reading the English captions is the feeling of isolation and longing for our past selves or doing our best to look forward to the future. Basically the time in our lives where we felt free and possibly unburdened by responsibilities. I took it as BTS using the seasons more so as a metaphor rather than a literal meaning.

Winter can be very beautiful, but can also be very cold and more often than not, dark. While on the other hand, Spring brings forth life and warmth. Basically, a new beginning.

How sometimes we may feel very alone and distant towards others. Like snow that glows white on a mountain top, where no footprint can be seen. How we may have nostalgic feeling for what once was. Or perhaps, try to look forward to what may come. As is evident from seasonal changes.

I feel that the song itself smartly intertwined with the message they were trying to put out. The first time I heard this song without reading the captions, it made me feel very nostalgic.

So all in all, this is was a very beautiful song from BTS. Definitely the highlight of 2017 by far. With this release, I can confidently say that Kpop for 2017 has finally started.

In my opinion, may be one of the better releases by the group. Although may not be a favorite for the general public, but can very well turn out to be an outlier.

If I had to give my rating..

SONG - 9.2/10

MV - 8.9/10

THEME - 9.5/10 (what I took out of it)

----------------

I know I may be completely wrong, but the best works by artists tend to have differing meanings depending on the individual. How beauty of it all, is by the different way people see their creative work as.

So, what did you guys think?
How did you all interpret the song?

yessss bts slayyyyy with their theme and meaning!

Yes :)

I appreciate that post-Skool Luv Affair, BTS as a group have grown tremendously with their music

I really do enjoy the fact that Bighit put forth all their efforts and have confidence towards BTS as a group to take these risks and not resort to "safe" concepts or "safe-sounding" music to be able to have deeper meanings in them.

After Beast, I can confidently say that BTS is my bias male a group.

I like people who use their brains and I like groups who make me think deeply about their lyrics.

BTS make real music, whether people would like to think so or not.

That's something that fans can definitely be proud of

I thought this was going to be something real shady.

aww, what made you think that? I don't troll all the time  :hurr:

I honestly do like BTS' music

I was gonna make a thread akin to your last question. The people i've talked too all have different interpretations of the song.

It reminded me of my depressive phase. It's a bit confronting in that way.

Yes, basically an open ending where we as the viewers decide on maybe what happened or what will happen

An open interpretation of sorts.

The song definitely has some strong message within it.

Wow thanks for the nice post !

No problem :)

They contribute to the making of the songs, rapmon himself made the melody of spring day. I doubt jhope had a problem with not getting his own verse.

i know, it just at some part actually will be better if other member sings it also it feels kinda empty without hoseok voice even though the song is really good
