ughh i really want to watch thisss but i can't stand the obvious cgi... what to dooooo

Well the Xianxia genre isn't for everyone, but they do have their avid fanbase. I always overlook the CGI for all the pretty, and Xianxia has so much of it.

I was highly anticipating the movie version with Yang Yang and Liu Yifei, wasn't even going to watch the drama version since Mark isn't my cup of tea, but decided to check it out since I had nothing else to watch. The movie version will definitely have better CGI, because there is no way you can get the same quality of effects in a 58 episode drama as you can with a 2 hour movie without breaking the bank.

It's pretty good so far, I'm very pleased. It's funny, because the director of this drama also directed LoveO2O yet Yang Yang is the lead in the movie version. I'm also happy to see K.O. from LoveO2O and 9th prince from Go Princess Go in this. Yang Mi seems to have stuck all her employees in this drama and molding Dilireba to be Yang Mi 2.0, glad she's able to play such a cute role.

I actually went in this drama expecting nothing out of it, so maybe that's how I was also pleasantly impressed. The first few episodes were really meh to me due to Yang mi's portrayal of Si yin. I did not like her Si Yin at all. But Susu was very well delivered and I find Mark Zhao great as Ye Hua. If only he was a bit younger and better looking. People are giving these two very highly acclaims in the latest episode, even those who used to criticize the main casts are saying they eat their words. I also thought they executed the scene quite well. But honestly, I think it's all has to do with expectation. The movie, on the other hand, will gain more criticism if it does not live up to the expectation. Dilereba was very cute as Feng Jiu, indeed. Dong Hua is quite bitchy, i don't like him.

I really like how the demon tribe looks in this drama. From their outfits to their cups that are chicken feet. He looks so handsome here.

I didn't think I was going to like this drama since the trailer looked meh and I am not really a fan of any of the actors, but I love it so far.

Mark Chao still hasn't grown on me and his long black flowing locks creeps me out, but I love seeing Zhang Bin Bin, Alan Yu and Dilireba in this, they all look so good in Xianxia dramas.

Where can I get my hands on one of these? I need it in my life

it does look creepy lol but his facial expressions fit what I imagine YeHua would be doing. I just saw the trailer for the movie and it also looks good, can't wait.

I love the looks from the demon tribe. Dillireba looks lovely. I think the production just has really good outfits for everyone. I love how all the evil characters look. Everyone is just on point.

Sad and ultimately satisfying episode today, looking forward to 白浅上神 in the coming week. Hopefully, they didn't cut out the bed scene (which there is a leaked clip and screencaps already online), that scene in the book is hilarious.

Spot on on all what you said. But I had an entirely different reason why I dropped this drama off my watch list. Same as you I never thought I'd like it. It it's good. I'm loving his horns. Trying to replicate it or make a similar of it for a contest coming up. The special effects for Chinese drama always seems to be really surreal.

I'm also happy to see Zhang Vin here. Love him in Love O2O.

Does anyone know if Yang Mi Studio bought the rights of Three Lives Three Worlds? The majority of the supporting cast are her employees. Was also wondering if rights to the story can be shared by different companies, one to make the drama and another to make the movie.

The production company she co-funded å˜‰è¡Œä¼ åª’ is one of three production companies that did the drama. The rights for the movie probably was sold separately, which seems to be the norm now, as we have seen in the Just a Smile.

My take on the highly anticipated 3 lives 3 worlds and 10 miles of peach blossoms.

I was extremely excited when it got out and everything. I truly enjoyed the beginning stages of the drama up until episode 10 and I stopped there completely not because the drama is bad. I actully think it is a very ambitious project and over-excellent cinamatography.

But here is the problem..... I did not understand the nonsensical love between the master and Yang Mi's character? It was so forced and there was no chemistry whatsoever. It was to be the most forced love-story I have ever seen. There was no bulid up or warm-up in their love story nothing. It was there and we as viewers knew nothing.

While on the other hand you have the boyish and manly Li Jing who in fact had great chemistry with Yang Mi's character.

So pushing for a Yang Mi/Master love relationship was the peril of this great Drama because you had what could be a great TV-series with Yang Mi's character and Li Jing who has a bad boyish type of aura because they are great fit.

When I found out that Yang Mi's character and Li Jing was done was the moment I quit.

I didn't see or expect love between the master and the student though, aren't they the smallest part of the 3 lives story and just act as a precursor for the other 2 lives to come? Although Li JIng's love for her is strong, I see him as weak and easily influenced so it's no wonder he betrayed her so quickly and deserves to be miserable.

There is no love story between them. It is more like she admires him greatly but they are not in love. He might like her, unsure.

LiJing was her first love and she liked him, but he betrayed her then regrets it for the rest of his life. I liked them together too, but after he did what he did I was like nope. He was easily influenced and always very insecure if she liked him or not.

To be honest, I wanted a love story with MoYuan at first and then I was like Lijing <3 but now I see that the future had better things for her.

I actually think it's the drama's fault for directing it that way. In the novel, you can actually get a better sense that Bai Qian never loved her master. In fact, she gave him utmost respect, which to the readers can interpret that as surpassing romantic love. Her first love was actually Li Jing. In the novel, it showed how much betrayal she felt, which didn't deliver well in the drama. It's also quite ambiguous whether her master loved her or not in the novel, but since we got a good sense that he did like her, it felt like a forced relationship.

I am so impressed with Mark Zhao. It is my first time watching him in anything, but I am a big fan now.

He studied the script and found inconsistencies. I need him in all my dramas.  :stare:

Possible spoilers. It is discussing a bts clip from ep. 30
