They were displayed anonymously for the students but the proff could see the username There were a few simple stuff that I didn't feel like I fully understand so I asked 3 questions, each time my professor just said "come on" and basically laughed at all my questions It's a science course and I'm not good at science, I'm only taking it because it's mandatory for my major to have one science course + English is my second language so I'm struggling to understand sometime When he laughed I felt like the dampest person in the world and so humiliated :( Was he okay to do that? Even if he's a grade-A researcher from Harvard or something, at the end of the day he's supposed to be your instructor for a basic science course. He should be pleased that he has a non-specialty student who gives a shit enough about their grade to ask questions if they don't understand. Also, even in specialized science courses people will ask basic questions so idk his trip Though if you're concerned he'll continue this behavior, I'd direct questions to the TA instead. They've been living, breathing, and studying this material for decades to the point that everything seems obvious to them. Then they act shocked and appalled or even amused when students don't understand something, but it's their job to help them understand, no? I'm sorry your professor is like that. Is there a TA or another student in the class with whom you'd feel comfortable asking your questions? Or maybe an academic resource center on campus with tutors? I had the same asshole high school teachers like yours, after every written test they would compile the "best" answers, read them aloud and laugh "cause we're bunch of morons".We couldn't ask any questions cause there was always a possibility of making fun of us or say "But how you don't understand it? I've explained it during the whole class time!" This + bunch of my classmates made me hate high school for the longest time, although I always had a desire to learn and I'm grateful for a few normal teachers that were the best.
