SBS 'Inkigayo' gets rid of live voting?

1.jpg

Inkigayo Chart Calculation Method

Digital 55%

SNS 35%

Physical Album 5%

Pre-vote 5%

Daum Cafe: Live voting disappeared from today's Inkigayo

- Did this just happen today????  I guess we now have to focus on digitals and youtube views

- Album % shouldn't be increased because then idols would be at more of an advantage, right?  I think this is a good thing...

- Isn't it because not a lot of people typically buy physical albums

- I think digitals are fair.  No matter how many fans you have, if non-fans don't care for your song, it's going to be hard to get a stable #1 on the charts.  So I think this reflects the public more

- They made a good choice getting rid of the votes.  People normally just watch the MV on Youtube and listen to the digital..

- It's like they're not even caring for the physical albums anymore, what's up with 5%???

- This is nice.  I've always felt bad whenever there was an artist who was #1 on the digitals but got won over by idols

- I still think SNS % is too high..

- Physical album percentage is too lowã…‹ã…‹ã…‹ã…‹ã…‹ã…‹ I'd expect at least 20-30%;

- Just go with 60% digital and 40% physical~~!

- Why are people complaining about the Youtube scores, isn't it good for that to be a high %?

> Because if there is no MV, it's 0 pointsã… ã…

> For songs that don't have MVs and for ballad MVs that people don't typically watch...

- To be honest I've always thought Inkigayo was the most fair out of all the music shows~

- People aren't born idol fans ã…‹ã…‹ã…‹ã…‹ã…‹ They are part of the "public" too, it's the idols power that turned them from the "public" into a "fan", isn't that right?

> ã…‹ã…‹ã…‹ã…‹ã…‹ã…‹ For real, we weren't all fans right when we were born ã…‹ã…‹ã…‹ The fans are the 'public' too

must be oppa idol fans. with this, if my fave is coming back with digimon, their possibility to win is lesser. oh well. theyre still good without those.

Wonder how MV's are gonna change to help boost digital a bit?...

chen's thread encourage people to watch 'nosedive' (dynamic duo ft him) and it won on last episode! idt it would be in 'digital', but 'sns'

I still don't get the logic when people dismisses one's fandom power as if "stupid fangirls" are nothing. Isn't it considered a feat in itself to have such dedicated fans in a large scale??

I still think sns is too high. At least with other categories there are limits in place (you can only download a song once, albums are a finite amount) but with sns you can basically spam without restriction. It's no different from voting live, actually it's easier since I think live voting costed money.

But SNS on inkigayo has always been youtube, hasn't it?  You just have to watch the MV a lot.

Live voting was, like, a spoiler since it was the last thing that happened.  Of course you can kind of predict that some fandoms would be good at it compared to others.  Still, it seems good if the program is no longer making fans pay for it.  (But I'm not sure Inkigayo had them pay for it?  Like, with SBS MTV The Show I thought the Chinese side had to pay to vote but the Koreans didn't?)  Anyway, seems like Inkigayo winner predictions should be even easier now.

They need to lower the SNS.

Idol group have too much advantage in SNS point, their fans can spam and replay youtube video.

Give SNS 30% and album 10%.

And SNS point is the most ambiguous point, they can give a high score to a certain singer/group to make them win.

Aren't those music shows almost idol groups/so list, a ballad, maybe a hip hop song, and a trot song if they are feeling random? They aren't really made for "the public".

My point is that sns is extremely abusable (eg apart from laziness and having a life, there's nothing stopping me from continually replaying an MV 24/7 over multiple devices) and is still worth 35%. That is quite significant especially compared with digital 55%, in some cases that can decide a winner even if another artist had a more popular song.

Imagine a scenario like where a group has high digital because their sing is most popular for the week but low mv views and votes and another group has medium digital but high mv and votes, depending on exact figures the second group gets the win.

Ofc that's the format of the show but the fact that an unregulated category can have so much power is broken and therefore may not reflect which song is doing well on Korean charts. Remember how gangnm style was winning in music Bank despite using broken broadcast points (which was counting how many times he was mentioned in international news, wtf was that about?) alone which have absolutely nothing to do work music and the song not being the most popular in charts at times?
