The idea of fanxidol transaction.

So obviously there's been a thread about how idols shouldn't date because they are products or whatever (disgusting), but there was one comment that appeared, and it appears everywhere any time idols date and I really get pissed off when I see something like it, so I want to focus on this argument that crops up everywhere anytime the words 'idol' and 'dating' are put together:

'you owe the fans because they spent their money on you'

'the fans have suffered and worked hard in order to support you you owe them'

'you should keep it a secret because fans will get hurt and they sacrifice a lot to be your fan'

I mean, am I missing something? Did these fans buy an album, open it up and find a blank cd? Did they receive a piece of white paper where a poster and/or a photocard should be? Did they stand in line at music shows to watch an empty stage?

Idols don't owe you shit. The transaction has already been done. They slaved away learning choreographies, singing new songs, going without the right amount of food, the right amount of sleep, holding fansignings and hand holding events that go on for hours and having to be 100% perky the whole way through in order to give each fan a good experience despite whatever they might actually be feeling like.

What exactly do fans sacrifice apart from money? Understandably there are fans who have to give up on other things if they want to purchase an album or buy a concert ticket, but these idols sacrifice so much more - and it's not even like most idols actually make that much money back out of it after paying their debts back to the company, distributing the money between the members, etc. We've seen idols work so hard they burn out before promotions end, some of them even passing out on stage - these so called fans trying to tell me that the idols don't work just as hard if not more so to keep fans happy? Can they not have one thing for themselves?

Their personal life is exactly that and detached from their careers as entertainers. If they then sacrifice that for the fans as well, then surely that actually places the fans as the ones who are in debt?

Fans work hard to earn money to buy albums that were MADE through hard work. Get a grip.

Maybe they're referring to the bulk sales of the physical albums? No one buys those for the music anymore. K-fans have sites like MelOn, etc.

I think this whole issue is being overblown. If an idol wants to date, yeah, whatever. If a fan wants to unstan because of that, fine, whatever. Why should we even care what K-netz think lol it's not like our idols listen to them anyway. At the end of the day, both idols and fans should do whatever makes them happy :)

The bulk sales are not oppas problem lol if you want to waste your money that way then go right on ahead but he still doesn't owe you his celibacy

It's just the attitude that irritates me, I find the level of stupidity shocking. How much more can these poor, overworked people give you before you are satisfied? We all know idols date of course and really its not that important to anyone elses life, but ugh when I see those comments I could strangle someone.
