Rookie is actually a Velvet album?

I wouldn't call it entirely Velvet. But out of six songs, I find Little Little, Body Talk and that Wendy solo to be Velvet-y... and Talk to Me is also leaning towards Velvet side. But both Rookie and Happily Ever After are Red for me. It's just like ICC and RR albums, basically, where both Red and Velvet sides are included but sometimes one side is more dominant than the other one.

So tired of the Russian Roulette drag. RR is still RV's best single after Dumb Dumb.

But Intl. fans love to drag the big hits. ("Cheer Up", "Shake It", etc.)

Rookie personally does nothing for me, but I love Velvet b-sides like "Little Little".

RV needs to give me more songs like "Light Me Up" & "Cool Hot Sweet Love"

it couldve been a great velvet album except that they need to sell red because most people like rv for being red...which is sad bec all velvet songs (all) have been amazing.

I've heard that the whole Red and Velvet concepts are no longer separated like the case with the Red and the Velvet albums, because as we all know, the Red sold more, just like you said, most people (especially K-fans) love the Red side more than Velvet.

I personally favor this decision because from now on, every time I want to buy Red Velvet's album, I'll get both sides in one package. More practical.

I honestly love the Velvet side more. Songs like "Little Little", "Take It Slow", "Cool Hot Sweet Love", "Something Kinda Crazy", "Sunny Afternoon", and "Body Talk" are what I like best. Although I'm not gonna lie, their Red side songs are bops.

I'm not all for it tho because promoting Red and Velvet equally makes them unique. Like at one cycle theyre all Lookie3x then all of a sudden they're in Automatic mode - no current girl groups can pull that off easily. But yeah SM realized that Red sells more so it's gonna be more prominent now. :(

I know, that's what makes RV different than most girl groups, but sadly most K-fans slept on One of These Nights comeback and even some of them pretended it never existed, like WTF that is a beautiful song. And knowing SM, they don't want that to happen again. It's such a shame, though...

To me, I'll put Talk to Me (because if the genre and beat) as a velvet song. So except for Rookie and HEA, so I think this album lean on their velvet more. Anyway, as long as they keep singing Little Little or any other songs from this album along Rookie, I'll postpone my rant toward SM.

LOL true talk to me is upbeat velvet tops because of the rnb tinge! i do hope there's still a balance bet red and velvet now that they killed the dual concept. it's like when beyonce told that there's no more sasha fierce lmao
