so far BlackPink has only released digitals singles, 4 digital singles to be EX'ACT! ^-^

one of them did very great (Whistle), another one did fine (PWF), and the other 2 (Boombayah and Stay) did alright! :chu: but I was wonderin' when will BP have a proper comeback with a physical album! :ahmagah:

so I went and asked my mom (she's an ELF and a SHAWOL y'all) :chu: and she said that YG is hisetating to give BP a proper comeback bc he's afraid that BP might fail to sell a lots of physical albums like the other top girl groups and he's afraid that the hype might have died down since PWF and Stay struggled on the charts and didn't do as well as Whistle!

of course I disagreed with my mom! and I told her that I have faith in BlackPink! :rlytearpls: BP fighting! :rlytearpls:

But PWF is currently selling more than Whistle tho ?

PWF did amazing despite the strong competition

PWF is selling more than Whistle did after 12 weeks, tho...

First of all, I'm going to need you to tell your mama that PWF is selling more than Whistle did at this time, and it's about to get to 100mil views faster and YG loves bragging about that. Plus, Twice and Taeyeon, both are considered a NGG or was apart of the NGG. They did great despite competition for a 3 month group. But in a nice tone so you don't get in trouble.

But otherwise, who knows, they're in a good spot where they're getting variety opportunities that are getting them more recognition and Jisoo inkigayo (hopefully) is great too. Plus, they aren't so overexposed to where the public feels like they already know them. Their next comeback is crucial and hopefully they deliver, so probably around late March or early April, and a physical release in fall hopefully.

It's the whole 'Digital vs Physical' argument. Blackpink is very popular internationally but in most cases physical sales are largely domestic. No doubt that Blackpink will sell well but for YG to capitalize on their full album they would want to see how consistent their sound does in the market and if their music has longevity. In other words, they're playing it extremely safe. 'Why sell double the albums when we can hold off a bit and sell triple the amount later'. Either way expect big things from Blackpink when they release songs.

Hun, YG is actually promoting them good compared their other act. They are building fame with series of singles which comparably faster to release than studio album. If their fame and fan base already established, that's when they release an album. They need people to buy their album, that what they are doing right now.

Is it only me who feels like kpop companies somehow putting physical albums on Amazon will increase international sells?  :._.: Lots of even casual fans would buy from there since they don't know how to find stuff on those other sites or even know about them.
