Supervising teacher problems

Is any of you a student teacher? Have you had internships before?

I'm currently doing an "observation" internship where I have to observe what techniques the teacher I am supervised by uses. I have to do 3 presentations in front of the class over our 8 days of internship and she's been cockblocking every suggestion I make and changing them for her liking. Basically all I'm doing is discipline (which she said will give me extra points) and observing (which after 10 minutes or so, gets hella boring). She doesn't make them interact in class and gives them crossword puzzles to do for 45 minutes out of a 1h15 long class period. She doesn't want me to make them interact or talk because she says it gets hectic. But learning a language requires interaction imo.

Any suggestions on what to do?

You should try and make exercises where a full English sentence (with the vocabulary they have learned as in English) and below it is an incomplete sentence in the language they are learning. Also do this vice versa so they can translate simple sentences in both directions. You could add challenge ones where the sentence is even more incomplete or even no clue at all or even raise the difficulty every 10 or so questions.

Note this to your heart and tell yourself to not do the same when you become a teacher.

In the mean time, kiss up to her and do what she says. Cant risk any BS now, but you know that.

That's what I plan to do lol hopefully my next supervising teacher will be more versatile

I think you have to just endure it so that you can, hopefully, become one of the good ones. It's only eight days, right? It would be hard to make a meaningful difference in that time.

It's spread over the semester aka every monday til the end of March. I have 3 other practicums (15 days + one intensive week, 5 intensive weeks and 15 weeks full time teacher role).
