Kim Jong Kook revealed to have persuaded “Running Man� cast to continue with the show

Following the announcement that “Running Man†will keep going with the current six members, it was revealed that Kim Jong Kook played a big role in bringing the show back to life.

 

When “Running Man†was confirmed to come to an end, Kim Jong Kook was the first person SBS Entertainment’s Director Nam Seung Yong went to in order to apologize and talk. After careful consideration, Kim Jong Kook accepted the director’s request to stay with the show. The two of them visited the other members, asking if they would stay on the show as well, and they all agreed.

 

A source from “Running Man†explained, “Kim Jong Kook and Song Ji Hyo were hurt by this incident, but despite that, they made this big decision for their fans all over the world.â€

 

“Running Man†will continue shooting on Mondays and Tuesdays as always. Excluding Gary, who left the show before the issue began, the original members Yoo Jae Suk, Ji Suk Jin, Kim Jong Kook, Haha, Song Ji Hyo, and Lee Kwang Soo will continue to star in the show with a weekly guest. There is a spot available for a new member, but it will not be Kang Ho Dong, despite the previous rumors.

running man is the variety show i love the most, but honestly they did kim jongkook and song jihyo so dirty;; i'm glad that they decide to continue the show, but it would never be the same anymore in my eyes. i love all the casts and their bond but that's it.

He is too loyal   after seeing HaHa's interview about how physically demanding and stressful each episode is, I hope that they really focus on playing with the psychological aspects. Kim Jong Kook especially needs to rest those muscles.

I'm looking forward to a revamp of their game format and a new, interesting member. It'd be nice if the new member is someone relatively new in the industry, too - more interesting to get a newbie get used to the scene rather than an already popular host/mc.

They really need to bring in someone with a lot of passion and energy, if they bring I a permanent person at all. The show needs some new excitement to keep going. Obviously the higher ups aren't happy with how it is going now. Hope they can find the right person and get back on track.
