Suchmos ã€Œã‚µãƒãƒ¢ã‚¹ã€ is a Six Piece Japanese Fusion-Rock Band from The Kanagawa Prefecture (神奈å·çœŒ) Managed by Space Shower Music. Formed in January 2013 by a Group of Friends, The Origin of The Group's Name is inspired by Louis Armstrong's Nickname: 'Satchmo'.

 

Inspired by Acid Jazz and Old School Hip Hop, Suchmos incorporates Urban Beats and the occasional Rap Verse, with Soulful Vocals and atmospheric Guitar Riffs to create their Signature Sound. Suchmos made their Debut on 04/08/2015 with their 1st E.P. Titled: 「Essence〠and have since Released Four more Albums/E.Ps: 「The Bay〠, 「Love &Vice〠, ã€ŒMint Condition〠& Most Recently: 「The Kidsã€

 

With the Release of ã€ŒThe Bay〠Suchmos were awarded The 2015s Best New Artist [Japan] by Apple Music which marked a breakthrough in their career.

 

The Members of Suchmos include - Main Vocalist: Yosuke Kasai (YONCE), Guitarist: Totsuka Taiki (TAIKING), Bassist: Hayata Kosugi (HSU), Drummer: Kent Ohara (OK), DJ: Kaiki Ohara (DJ KCEE) & Keyboardist Sakurauchi Taihei (TAIHEI)

 

YONCE started his first project when he was 17: a Rock Band called Old Joe. The Group stayed together until YONCE decided to call it quits and focus his efforts on Suchmos. In 2014 the group played Fuji Rock and the following year they signed with Space Shower Music, where they put out their 1st E.P: Essence & Full Debut Album: The Bay. A nod to the bayside culture where the members grew up, the album is a reflection of Yokohama culture.

 

YONCE attributes his Musical Education to an Uncle and Bar Owner: a music lover whose room is filled with records and CDs. This mentor guided him from a young age, introducing him at first to Eric Clapton and The Rolling Stones but later to Nirvana, Otis Redding and Marvin Gaye.

 

Suchmos released their New Full Album: "THE KIDS" on January 25 of 2017, the first time in a Year and a Half since their previous Full Album "THE BAY". This Album features 11 songs including the familiar "
