The best AKB48 MV?

abra

Recommended Posts

UZA is sort of the generally agreed upon best MV. (Heavy Rotation for the nasties).

Kondo Koso Ecstasy

Ikiru Koto

For sister groups KataFina is iconic

Oh yeah, Beginner is also popular. I like the song, but not the MV personally.

I would say for use of color, Sayonara Crawl is one of the best

I kinda excluded their beach mvs...

Beginner has a lot of random scenes in the middle of the mv and the song is cut off (well atleast the version on Youtube)

I've only seen the dance ver of UZA

Yeah i am not really a big fan of their beach MVs but I thought Sayonara Crawl relied a lot on its pretty colors

Beginner is not an MV I really like, I am not really into that weird technology, virtual, vocaloid or whatever you call it

UZA is based off of Steampunk. For the longest time it was my fave MV though now since I am not an AKB48 fan it doesn't do anything for me.

I also like Ikiru Koto, though it's not extravagant, maybe I just really like the song lol.

I don't think they've put it up on youtube so I haven't seen it

But it's apparently on dailymotions so I'll check it

oh you got banned?

There are a lot of AKB48 MVs I cannot watch because they are not available where I am apparently. That is why I cannot watch the vids in your OP. They used to have UZA, but not anymore. Yeah, Alive and Dailymotion are the places I have seen their MVs. In retrospect, one thing I have noticed is that the MV for UZA is honestly better than the song though they somewhat fit well together.

Yeah I asked for the ban

Yes... I guess UZA is more about the concept. Speaking of UZA apparently the same person directed it and

...

Which is the messiest mv I've seen.

The Ikuru Koto song was good!

You came back with a different image/colour palette

Beginner

The concept is interesting. It was inspired by incident where a kid burned an old person with hot water and laugh about it or something.

The concept of todays youth being "unable" to sympathize with real world pain. The aim of the video is a message towards the video-game oriented youth that unlike in a game real life has no reset button. Aachan's reaction to being stabbed in the "real world" was meant to be a wake up call that they must learn to be more empathetic with their fellow people.

For visuals

For sister groups. The meaning of this >>>>>>>>>

Wait what does that mean :rlytearpls:

I remember trying to defend Heavy Rotation, but honestly it's the biggest mess of them all.

100 % agree UZA is messy, but I think it sort of gets away with it, I have never seen a girl group do Steampunk like that. The only other Steampunk concept I know was from IU. I think that's why so many people like it. I never liked Gingham Check tbh, though I like that era.

Yeah I like Ikiru Koto a lot, but for some reason my fave AKB48 song will always be Skirt, Hirari and Keibetsu Shiteita Aijou

oh I meant Gingham Check was the messiest MV, there's so much going on. UZA is just dimly lit & the blackouts annoy me.

I mean that you used to have pretty/colourful layouts earlier, now it's a bit grittier

I think Heavy Rotation is the messiest lol, but I agree. Gingham Check is definitely up there for messiest. I think UZA is a bit messy too, but it's more excusable I think.

I am a newb and I don't know what layouts are, do you mean my DP?

Wait...what? It seems to have a "haunted house" theme/concept than anything else.

Jurina/Mayuyu who center in it are dressed in outfits inspired by that era. Kojiharu and Mariko are dressed up in Victorian era clothing, the setting gives off a Steampunk vibe mainly bc of the slight dinginess and clocks, and there are other subtleties as well. It's not really a flat-out Steampunk concept, it's a host of things, but that's one of the main influences imo.
