Which Jpop groups should I stan?

I was watching Akbingo the other day and it was funny. But people keep saying that AKB is declining so I don't wanna invest my time in catching up with almost a decade worth's stuff if they will end up disbanding sometime in the near future.

I enjoy Perfume and Nogizaka46's music.

Are any other AKB sister groups worth stanning? What about Nogi's sister group?

I'm also open to stanning boy groups if there are any good ones apart from older ones like Arashi and SMAP.

AKB aren't as popular as they were in 2012, but I wouldn't call them 'declined'

If you like AKB you should check out some of their Sister Groups: SNH48, SKE48, HKT48 and my personal favorite NMB48

Nogizaka46 and their sister Group Keyakizaka46 are amazing, and really dominating right now.

E.Girls which is a collective group consisting of FLOWER, Happiness & Dream(+original E Girls Members), all which are great Groups in their own right.

Perfume, Tokyo Girls Style and Morning Musume are really good too.

For Boy Groups, I don't really care for them, I only like Indie and Jrock Bands, the only Boy Group I love is Arashi but you said they're too old so  :imstupid: perhaps check out EXILE TRIBE (J Soul Brothers, Generations etc)

They're still selling milions even with inflated sales. They don't have the hype but nothing close to disband :imstupid: This isn't kpop, acts tend to last longer. Momosu been here since 1997 and went from 1 mil to 50k sales and they're still here.

anyway stan Keya

keyakizaka46: the leader of j-idol scene

yumemiru adolescence: a decent group

babymetal: if you want some talented singing and harder music

about the boygroup, I don't have any recommendation since they mostly can't sing and the songs aren't that great, also I'm a straight male, so the attractiveness aspects don't work for me lol. but you should stan hoshino gen, he's the king of jpop right now

Maybe all Hello Project groups like °C-ute, Morning Musume, Angerme etc and Akb48 sister groups SKE48, NMB48, HKT48 and Nogizaka46 sister groups Keyakiza46. I also like Exile and Flower.

°C-ute are disbanding in 4 months, I don't think they're what Op is looking for.

"Should"

Sorry, "should" sounds like pressure to me. As if you NEED to (un)stan groups in order not to be mocked or sth like that.

Stan anything you want, go for it, really, even if the groups you stan are presumably past their prime. I follow flops, dead acts or those on life support myself, Jpop ones included.

For suggestions I'd leave them to the people commenting here and your own criteria, you have more power within yourself than you think.

Good luck ♡
