She is the leader of a forever nugu group with outdated concepts that barely make the top 20 in Melon and have yet to reach #1 and they've been around for how long? KARA has won multiple awards and has facial recognition everywhere, they even dominate JAPAN (you know, the second biggest market in music?) along with SNSD. They could get on a variety show with a snap of their fingers, whereas Rainbow struggles to get onto Weekly Idol. And don't even get me started on SNSD, has she even set foot in America? Has her group done anything of relevance to the states other than the international community? Heck, is she even a relevant member in her own group? Cuz people can name Woori, Jisook and Hyunyoung but other than the fact that apparently she is the face of her group I had to search to find her ass for the Ideal World Cup thread I made a while back. Unless she really wants to be Clara 2.0 (which is not fair on her, because I actually find Clara to be quite entertaining and visually more attractive anyway) then she should really humble herself. The worst part is I saw someone mention that she was once a JYP trainee... and I swear to Buddha that if she starts saying that she rejected being a part of the Wonder Girls or miss A, I will shit bricks and flip out. Now before anyone says I'm pressed, I'm not, quite frankly if she wants to ruin her career by saying stuff like that (or not telling DSP to stick it when they tell her to say it, because someone is to blame for the sheer stupidity that is coming out of her mouth right now) then by all means she can do whatever the fuck she wants to. However, she is the leader of her group AND the face as well. Her actions reflect on the group that she leads moreso than any other members (hence why Taeyeon, Gyuri and Yoona are so careful with their image... And Hara when she isn't throwing bottles at sunbaes). And I like Rainbow, they have so much potential to be great (every group does), but she is destroying her group like this and they will end up like KARA and T-ara because she won't keep her mouth shut. Let's not forget either, Netizens rarely ever forgive and they do not forget... She's making enemies with fandoms too like this (and neither Sones nor Kamilia are a joke). But seriously, would you not get pissed if there was a K-Pop group you liked and one of the idols let their own arrogance get in the way of their progress? But at the end of the day it's what you are being quoted on, not your intention behind it... Right now her image is the most important thing as an idol and she needs to protect that, she also needs to be in a much higher place than she is now before she can start saying anything like that, at all. In the eyes of the public, these are her sunbaes... Even if they aren't in her eyes, and she needs to realize that, pronto. The things she said weren't even that bad, I mean idols who are top tier (or at least above Rainbow) have said worse things, and it hasn't been in the way of their success. But they are in a position to say those things, and they STILL get heavily criticized... The main issue here is that Rainbow is still trying to break out of nugudom in Korea and their popularity has stagnated. If this is all media play, kudos to DSP for fucking up another group because now these girls need to break the social stigma placed on them and Jaekyung would have to work the hardest out of all of them, sort of like how Jiyeon needed to after the Hwayoung incident. They are still getting hate now, even though both parties have cleared up the incident. Is it still worth it to gain popularity this way? As a matter of fact, Baek Ji Young had a sex scandal in 1999... It's 2014 and netizens are still bringing it up! Michael Jackson has been dead for 5 years and his court case in 2005 is still talked about and is still defaming him posthumously! Let's imagine that Rainbow and SNSD switched positions concerning popularity and sales, and if Jaekyung revealed that she was considered to be a member of SNSD, the public (members of OH) probably wouldn't react they way they have reacted. This is all because Rainbow are "barely relevant", so I fail to see why anything she said was so controversial. In addition, she never mentioned that she actually regretted her decisions to not join SNSD or KARA to join a group that would become less popular - and I think that many people forget that. This is from the AKP article: Jaekyung continued, "No one knows this, but truthfully, I was contacted by SM Entertainment, too. I also turned them down. And then two months later, Girls' Generation made their debut," surprising everyone. She was asked if she ever felt envy towards her label mate KARA. She replied, "Truthfully, I was a bit envious when KARA became a Hallyu icon." Nowhere does it say she rejected SNSD, but rather an offer to be in SM. And of course at the time SNSD was just another debuting girl group (albeit with a big label), so rejecting an offer to join them wouldn't have been such a big deal anyway. Also shes really the only relavent member of Rainbow and if her image becomes trash from telling these stories then it can affect Rainbow as a whole. But i dont want to put all the blame on her because like I said in the other thread the timing of her stories are just too fishy for me & I honestly believe DSP told her to say this because it will get people talking about Rainbow, since 2/5 of KARA are out and the rest are doing individuals activites DSP is trying to make Rainbow relavent Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

She had only positive things to say about KARA, RAINBOW, and SNSD. The more people who are riled up about this, the more attention RAINBOW gets so its a win-win on both counts since they were struggling anyway.
